   Well many years ago this was a back street local. No real ale now but landlord trying very hard to make you welcome. Close to bus/tram /railway. Still open so good.

   A very well set out and modern hotel. Barry who owns the hotel is very pleasant and easy to talk to. The bar is spacious and colourful, with plenty of seating.

   The host Barry couldn’t have been more welcoming. I had booked a single room but was upgraded to a double room which was lovely and very large. I was pleasantly surprised at the lovely deep bath and a really large TV. The hotel is being renovated so the upstairs area is not yet completed but it has so much potential. The Bar is beautiful and has a lovely terrace which is very popular. The price was very very reasonable. I would really recommend it. As a single female I felt very safe

   Excellent value for money and undergoing a major refurbishment which, given its perfect location and position, will make The Barrington a hugely popular place to stay in Altrincham, itself a fine town. Barry, the owner, is one gentleman: nothing too much trouble - he deserves to - and will - do very well!

   Stayed there sat 27th prior to picking up my granddaughter from Manchester airport, despite undergoing extensive renovations the room was warm and cosy, the bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows and a quilt and extra blanket. a wall mounted flat screen TV provided entertainment and a kettle microwave and fridge allowed for coffee to be made and food to be warmed. OK there was no on site food but with Tesco and Dominoes two minutes down the road that was not a problem for me. The owner was very apologetic and welcoming so overall a great over night stay.

   Stayed in this lovely hotel on night of 2nd March.. Place is currently under renovation but the rooms were lovely. The beds were SO comfy, I'm amazed we left. Perfect place to stay for ice hockey games around the corner. Barry was very pleasamt and couldn't be more helpful if he tried. The Icon bar and terrace will. be open soon and rooms will be in high demand when the renovationa is complete however would definitely stay here again!!!

   Last night me,my daughter and my parents stayed in this 'hotel' what a disgrace of a place! When we first arrived there was not one person at the property so we rang to find out what was going on. My dad sold to Pam who had gone home after apparently being there early to cook breakfast which is surprising as they do not serve breakfast. She agreed to come and let us in at 4pm but due to being stuck in traffic we didn't arrive until 4.20 pm.,however Pam rang me questioning where we were because she had been waiting for us since 4pm well sorry Pam but you could've used the extra 20 minutes to pick up a duster and given the rooms a quick once over,although this should've been done way before our arrival. The property is advertised as a B&B and bar... wrong! No bar, no breakfast, no staff... shocking! The rooms were appalling to say the least dirty,damp and unsafe with exposed wires all over the place. In the bedside drawer a used tissue that I don't even want to imagine what it was used for! I made my daughter a cup of tea and there were white bits floating in there, it was soap that was plastered inside the cup! I think Pam needs to spend more time employing some staff for the property starting with some industrial cleaners!!
