Overall the hotel is quite nice. Good location. Just be warned if they try to place you in the lower floor rooms. We stayed in a room (room 1) where the lift or maybe the kitchen was right above us?? It was SO LOUD- rolling and banging starting at 6/7am and all through the day. You will not sleep or find peace. It’s rather unsuitable for them to have anyone stay in those rooms…

We arrived at this stunning hotel to which the lobby looks amazing. The room was spacious and had the record player that we ordered. The bed was comfy and had good coffee and snacks. We tried to order a couple of complimentary items but were told they had none, to our disappointment. We were invited to the social hour, which was a nice touch. On our arrival back to our room, the thermostat had been set to 28 degrees; it was like walking into a sauna. We opened the windows but were then kept awake due to the location of the train station. We turned it down to 16, only to wake up in the morning to it being 23 degrees again. Very uncomfortable sleep. I would recommend this place as long as the heating is controlled and not turned up whilst you are out.

Fantastic stay at the Kimpton Clocktower hotel in Manchester. The building is absolutely stunning. The rainbow flag hanging above the entrance is a nice touch. I was offered some complimentary welcome drinks upon arrival. I do not drink but it was an extremely thoughtful gesture. Also, I was given a discount when I booked breakfast. Again, this was offered to me without asking. The gym is very well equipped and above average for a hotel. I would suggest adding some more pictures to show the equipment available. I often check the gym quality before booking an accommodation, and I suspect I am not the only one doing so. Your gym is one of your strengths and you should definitely advertise it better. The room is beautifully decorated, with a retro but vibrant look. The service during breakfast was above excellent. Special thanks to Alec/Alex who was a fantastic host. Finally, my stay was fairly affordable (booked well in advance), and it shows how luxury does not always need to be extremely expensive. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I will definitely be back next time I am in Manchester.

Stayed here as a Birthday treat for one night. From the moment we arrived, our experience at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel was nothing short of outstanding. The building itself is breathtaking, a perfect blend of historic grandeur and modern style, but what truly made our stay memorable was the incredible staff. Every single team member we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. From the friendly welcome at check-in to the attentive service at the bar and their hospitality went above and beyond. They made us feel not just like guests, but truly valued. A HUGE thank you to Kate, Gabriella and Mina who gave us the best welcoming we have encountered for a long time and we have stayed in lots of hotels. Kate arranged for a Birthday surprise in the room which was very nice, Gabriella followed up with welcoming text and Mina arranged for some snacks in the room. All three are a credit to the business. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculately clean, with thoughtful touches that made it feel luxurious yet comfortable. The bathroom was amazing with rain head shower plus normal head and the bath filled up quickly. The wifi was good and easy to connect. The beds were so comfortable. The hotel’s location is also ideal β€” right in the heart of Manchester, close to everything yet peaceful inside. This is now our first choice hotel in any future stays in Manchester. Thanks again to the entire team for making the Birthday stay a wonderful experience.

I recently stayed at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The service throughout my stay was excellent β€” staff were attentive, friendly, and always happy to help. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well maintained, making for a very pleasant stay. What really makes this hotel stand out is its beautiful building and rich history. Housed in a stunning Grade II listed Victorian building, the architecture and design carry a timeless charm. The interiors blend classic character with modern luxury perfectly β€” the high ceilings, ornate details, and stylish dΓ©cor keep the historic essence alive while still feeling contemporary and inviting. Overall, it’s a perfect mix of history, comfort, and elegance right in the heart of Manchester. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable stay with a touch of heritage.

A really friendly and helpful staff. The breakfasts are awesome. Really inspirational and very special. Also dogs are welcome and made to feel at home. Dogs allowed into the bar. No noisy dogs. Staff go out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. Hotel all very clean and up to date in a historical shell. Large well appointed rooms. Very close to St Peter’s Square and even closer to the theatre. Trams run very close by. Hotel spotless and clean. Free social drinks in the evening. Hurrah for the acceptance of our four footed friends.

Great location, and a wonderful atmosphere here. We were visiting family just before Christmas, and stayed here for a two night stay. The hotel was beautifully decorated, very festive with lots of Christmas trees everywhere. The garden orangery where we had breakfast was magical with fairy lights through the trees. Our room had two double beds and a lovely ensuite bathroom. There were extra pillows and even a yoga mat in the wardrobe. Lots of tea ,coffee and complimentary snacks in the room (crisps and chocolate bars) Bathroom was clean with lots of lovely full sized products to use. The only slight criticism ,was that our room wasn't cleaned/ replenished until after 2pm on our second day ,we had been out, and just wanted to chill when we got back in,( i had the beginnings of flu.) The housekeeper was very quick and sorted everything out. Breakfast was pretty good ,it was a nice touch to have a fruit juice shot presented to our breakfast table whilst we placed our order. The porridge, and smoked salmon with scrambled egg dishes were well received by my husband, All in all a lovely place to stay in a great location

I went for a conference so I can't assess the rooms. The hotel is magnificent, the former refuge assurance building. Full of character. Lots of old tiling. Dressed for Christmas it's absolutely gorgeous. The staff are that blend of delightful northern friendly and helpful whist remaining professional and competent.

This hotel deserves more rating for friendliness, but it's not all about it. They have very nice rooms and, more importantly, very tidy! They have put good measures in place to improve their standards. The restaurant was lovely. It a lovely place with lovely staff as well. Beware not to get lost as this place is massive and can be confusing.

Beautiful hotel in a great central location. The reception staff were amazing and the room was spotlessly clean. As other reviews have mentioned, there was a lot of noise at night from trains and people out on the town (this isn't something that bothered us personally and is to be expected for the location). I would definitely stay again and had a wonderful time.
