I have used them before and it is easy to book online and pay in advance for service and MOT. There is always an additional work call from them and same as last year it was an additional £120 for tracking and balancing. No additional charge for synthetic oil this year. 3 weeks later, as I don't use my car a lot, I had to take it back as it developed a shudder at 55 - 60 mph. Turns out the additional weights they'd added had created an imbalance. It was quickly rectified but shouldn't have happened in the first place. They are good and pleasant but that wasn't a good experience.
Booked in for my MOT last week with these guys after hearing positive reviews about formula 1! Karl was more than happy to greet and speak to me and have a chat regarding the MOT etc, super helpful when I couldn't get my house keys off my car keys! Communication was great, honest feedback regarding my car, and good pricing! Will definitely be using formula 1 again! Thankyou.
I recently took my car to Formula One Autocentres - Mansfield for a simple job: replacing spark plugs and ignition leads. I booked the garage for what I expected to be a quick and straightforward task, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. I picked up my car the following day, and immediately noticed the engine was misfiring. The next day, I decided to take a closer look at my mate garage and found a significant issue—one of the spark plugs was sticking out much higher than the others. Upon further inspection, I realized that the spark plug was only threaded into the head by about four threads, and was cross-threaded. It was even moving back and forth. To fix this, I had to go through the trouble of removing the inlet manifold and other components just to reach and properly re-install the spark plug. This was a frustrating experience, as I expected a basic job to be completed properly. Instead, I ended up having to spend extra time and effort to correct their mistake. Spoke to the guy who worked on my car, showed him pictures and video of the problem, and yet he still denied doing the work incorrectly, saying he didn’t cause that issue I wouldn’t recommend this garage for anyone needing work on their car unless you’re prepared for the possibility of poor craftsmanship and zero accountability.
Called up and got in within the same day. The guys were extremely careful with my new rims, carefully swapping the tryes from my old to new rims and especially when putting them onto the hubs. Exceptional service
Was told my car had failed the MOT and needed £470 worth of work on it. When I said this was a lot, the mechanic was able to get the price down to £400!!! Why it wasn't £400 in the first place I'm not sure. Anyway in the end that wasn't my car!!
Ordered two new tyres online. Fitted three days later as planned. Had a tyre destroyed by a bad road. Fitted the spare before ordering the new tyres. As a result wheels needed some swapping around when the tyres were fitted. Despite the complications all done in 20 minutes including checking the tracking and securing the spare back in the boot - great service. Tyre prices are always competitive and service good at local branch. Not been anywhere else for tyres for years.
Absolutely terrible service!! Booked my van in for a few bits only to be turned away saying they where under staffed after having the day off work. Didn't even have the decency to let me know, I was even there the night before checking my van promising me work would be carried out the following day. I was on limited amount of time as my mot was due the next day and was then left stuggleing to find a garage at the last minute. I will not be recommending this garage was complete waste of time and rude comstumer service
Had used facility last year for front tyres.Was pleased with the service I received so returned this year for rear tyres,rear brakes and oil and filter change.All work completed skilfully and in reasonable time. As I only do a few miles now I have retired,I will not be a regular but will certainly consider returning as things wear out.
