9 out of 10 times I come here I have a great experience, I got my laptop last year and got great help, and again today I went in to renew my anti virus protection, the gentleman give me a deal without me even asking. A lot of the staff know what they are talking about. I have had some bad experiences but I just walk away and come back at a later date when a staff member I recognise is there. I probably use this store about every 3 months for something like when I wanted to install a wired access point in my back garden, and as I said 9 out of 10 times I have a good experience, it all depends on the staff that day.

I have just had the misfortune of buying in store at Currys. I usually buy online. I visited the Leigh, Lancashire branch and was served by a nice lady called Shel. Unfortunately, she was economic with how we should complete our purchase. We were buying two tvs hoping to take them home immediately. One of the items was a 55” and cost £1599.00 . She informed us that the this tv was not stocked in store, and in any case because it was “ a large tv it HAS TO BE DELIVERED.” However, we “could take the other smaller tv immediately”..which we did. We placed the order for the 55” and reluctantly paid a £25 delivery charge. (It now transpires that this is the most expensive delivery option as well!) I have since discovered that we could have purchased both items for IMMEDIATE collection at numerous stores nearby… which we really wanted…This option was was never mentioned by Shel! Without this knowledge we were left in a “catch 22” position of having to agree to having the item delivered or we could not have the Tv. I can only conclude that she didn’t inform us that we could purchase in a nearby store and the untruth that “large TVs have to be delivered”, because she will lose commission or sales target. I have just revisited the store to make another large purchase and also to and request a refund of said delivery charge. I again spoke to Shel, the salesperson in question, her immediate response was that a “refund was not possible”. .. she didn’t even offer an apology, only a feeble attempt to “gaslight” our version of the events. Of course, this means that I have now gone elsewhere to spend £1499 on an American fridge freezer . This is very poor customer service…it is not about the money..I just do not like being taken as a fool and feel that I have been scammed. It is back to online retailers for me.!

Really not happy with how my in laws were treated. They took in an iron to repair and the older lady went on at them for ages about not bringing a box, even though it took her all of one minute to get one from the back, heard her curse them under her breath and tell them off for not getting the original extended guarantee - when it'd run out by now anyway! I have also had rude staff try and sell me stuff I didn't want and then get mad at me when I'd politely say no thanks. Definitely not going back to any Currys. Maybe treat customers with respect and don't be unprofessional.

Curry's is shocking yo deal with. Can't get to speak to anyone in store. Bought a product which when opened was obvious it had been returned. It was dirty and had labels stuck on by previous owner. Webchat promised leigh branch would phone me. 2 days later not heard anything, took product back. Given a new one, got home instruction booklet missing. Web chat told me to download it - 58 pages!!!!! Needless to say it will go back next time I am passing and will get a refund. Will not shop with this store again
