Prebooked ticked all good, but the queues for snacks is ridiculous, nearly a literally 30 minutes to get snacks for the kids, missed the start of the film. Service is an absolute joke

First time visit to Vue at Bury. Normally I would go to Odeon cinema, so this will be a comparison. From walking into the Vue, it looks to be clean, and offers a good choice of snacks and drinks, with the majority of staff appearing friendly and helpful. We had paid for VIP seating in screen 1, so as this was double the price of a Premier seat at the Odeon, I was hoping for something special. Now, while the seats were different (leather and comfy) to standard, it was just a better viewing angle. The picture and sound were really good, with booming bass that you can feel through your seat, and a vibrant, clear image. In my opinion, the Vue is not a good experience compared to Odeon. The food just wasn't nice for the price. While the prices are similar, the quality is not. The nachos taste cheap, and a tiny amount of cheese dip, that isnt enough to even be able to dip every nacho in before it's gone. The hotdog bun was starting to go hard, like it's been left out too long, but then fell apart from the amount red sauce that had been added because the bottle wasnt shaken first, and while the sausage tasted OK, it was just a little stiff, like it needed cooking for longer. The popcorn was nice and plentiful, although I wouldn't recommend the optional £1.50 sprinkle of M&Ms. They use the tiniest scoop, and it would have worked out cheaper to just buy a bag and sprinkle your own. Plus the Pepsi drink tasted good, and not overly watered down like some cinemas can tend to do. As it was my first visit, it wouldn't be fair to compare the cleanliness of the seats, as there was popcorn and chocolate dropped down the side and back corners of the seats, but this might only get hoovered out at the end of the day. The screen showing the trailers at the entrance was faulty, and needs some of the screens replacing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this cinema, and would suggest you drive an extra 25 minutes to the Rochdale Odeon cinema, where the food tastes better, the film prices are more reasonable, and with large free car parking, the experience you get is worth the extra journey.
Visited a few times with the kids over the Summer watching Superman and Jurassic World (can certainly recommend Superman!) Staff were lovely & gave us the best combo offers with the kids boxes. Live in Rammy but visited this site quite a lot & never had a bad experience. (Also noticed a review below which I cant comment on about under 18s not being allowed in after 10.30pm this is listed on the website as my partner wanted to take our 15 yr old daughter the other month & same thing happened to them we just missed what it said on the site)
Good service clean and tidy quite pricey on the food and drinks, but I guess that's where they make the money, halfway through the movie a member of staff came in to theatre number five 5 , with some sort of hand held infrared device , night vision I guess, walking up and down both sides of the Isles, whilst pointing the device at the audience. If they are data collecting( filming people) I hope they comply with GDRP . So people would need to be informed of this , if this is the case, and then have access to the data. That's it I'm all done
Great value for money but not upto the expectations of what it should be....Staff didn't seem to interact with customers much, too busy taking behind the counter.. also after the cinema was just cleaned ready for the next showing, it was a rushed job, with popcorn still down the seats and this was in VIP AREA!
Been a few times recently and its always been clean and tidy. staff are well mannered, even if they're not that fast. We usually pt for the luxury seats which give you loads of leg room a are very comfortable even for long films (Avatar whiic is over 3hrs). Driinks and food are abit pricey but thats normal for cinemas.
Went to watch 'One Piece: Red' and the film wouldn't work. They took 40 minutes to inform us that they couldn't get the film to load, couldn't even inform us when the next screening was available, and all we got was a voucher for a free film - for a standard seat and a standard screen, when we paid for a premium seat. Do not recommend this cinemas to anyone.
