   I've been to this salon twice before and the hairdresser with longer curly hair (sorry, I don't know anyone's names there) has always cut my hair. I was happy with the way she had done it and appreciated how she often consulted me with how I wanted my hair to be cut those 2 times. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience this time round with a different hairdresser (she had shorter curly hair). I'm not sure where to start because I've never really had to write a negative review before. The haircut I usually ask for is shorter in length with some layers in, including a fringe/bangs to frame the face. The hairdresser I had was really rough when handling my hair like she was rushing my appointment. When she was quickly combing it and whenever there was a slight tangle, she pulled down so hard with the comb that it made my head jerk to the side. When she was combing the fringe part to cut it, she combed it hard against my forehead and I saw some red marks on my skin just after she finished. I wasn't really asked where I wanted the layers to start (I would have mentioned it had I known she was cutting that part). She also took a pair of thinning scissors and start thinning out so much of my hair. Once I realised what she was doing, I had to say I didn't want my hair to be thinned out in the first place, but at that point, a lot of it was cut already. When I got home, I noticed my hair wasn't cut evenly either. One side is shorter than the other. We had previously agreed to cut it to collarbone length as well, but I think it's shorter than that. I think what made it feel frustrating was that I wasn't really asked a lot when doing certain parts of the haircut. Sometimes it feels like you're not really 'in control' of what cut you want, and it's difficult to know what part the hairdresser is starting to cut until they actually do it. There was a lack of communication, and I wish the lady had told me what she was doing before actually doing it, because once you cut the hair, it's cut and you can't really fix the length. I'm gutted about my experience. It's always good to support businesses within the neighbourhood, and my previous experiences have been good which made me return again each time. But this time round, it just felt like my hair was hacked with a pair of scissors. The layers don't blend well together in the hair, and they look so blunt and choppy. I know hair is just hair and will grow out eventually, but hair is very personal to people because it's a part of how we look to others. I feel like I've paid to have my hair ruined. Even when the haircut was finished, I knew I wasn't 100% happy, but it's hard to express these things because for one, the hair is already cut, and two, other customers are there and it felt difficult and impolite to say all these things when others are probably happy with the service they received. To anyone reading this, I'm not saying you shouldn't come to this place because I have had better experiences with the other hairdresser before, and from the interactions with customers that I heard whilst sitting there, you could tell it was a cosy and friendly place. But if you're happy with the service of a certain hairdresser, then it's best to stick with that person and book the haircut with them. Even as I'm writing this (later on in the day after having my haircut), my scalp still feels slightly sore from all the rough combing. Not much can be done now, and it'll be a long time before my hair can grow out so I can get it cut again the way I wanted. I just feel so much disappointment from today and it's lowered my self-esteem because of how my hair looks. I don't know what went wrong. For reference, my appointment was on 08/03/25 at 12pm.

   My mum and I had our first experience at Salon Allure today. We were both booked in for a cut and blow dry and absolutely loved our experience from start to finish! My mum has long thick hair and it was easily handled and styled very well. I was having a cut after a bad experience at another salon and Nikki immediately understood what I wanted and I was extremely satisfied and impressed. Thank you very much, we will definitely be returning!

   I have been to this salon quite a few times now and honestly would not go anywhere else. Hayley is excellent and knows her stuff. She takes the time to listen to what you want and understands this. Always come away feeling great and my hair has never been healthier. Would not hesitate to recommend.

   Have added a picture of how my daughters hair was trimmed, very uneven, no sectioning done when cutting hair, just chopped with scissors and not finished. Won’t be returning. Edit - Sorry I won’t be returning to your salon. I booked an appointment for myself and my daughter, I left with having just my daughters hair trimmed on 21.01.2023 at 15:15, not a fake review.
