I didn’t have the best experience with this salon. My appointment was at 11. I arrived 14 minutes late which I know is my fault. I apologised about this and even called them beforehand to let them know I’m right outside but parking is a nightmare and I can’t find anywhere. I even asked on the phone if they know any pay and displays nearby and she was like ‘no I don’t you have 15 minutes to get here’ very coldly. I walked in , it was completely empty went straight to the chair and I told her what I want which she replied ‘I’ll do what I can’. She said she had another appt at 12. My appt time said 1hr 15min when I booked so I’m not sure why she booked another appt for 12. No drink was offered to me despite a drinks menu infront of me. (People who came after were offered drinks straight away). I know I was late but the other stylist was sitting at reception doing nothing and she could have offered. My stylist didn’t talk to me once throughout the whole way and she was moody. Also At the end they tried charging me a late fee and I said I walked in at 11:14 so you can’t charge me it. The cheek of it! If I was very late why did you take the appt I thought it had to be cancelled so that didn’t make sense to me. I felt like because I was late the whole attitude just changed and I felt very uncomfortable being there and it was very rushed. You can’t charge a late fee on top if you are rushing my hair as well. I won’t be going back as I’ve had better experiences elsewhere (Nicky Clarke) where I have been late and they were so nice about it and didn’t mind. I’ve also waited at many salons for my appt as they were running over and I never seen them charge a late fee to anyone.

I wouldn’t normally post anything like this, however I just wanted to share my experience. I have been going to Pickles & Co for a few years. I normally book in with Helen to have balayage once or twice a year and she always does a brilliant job, from the colour to the placement, it always perfect and it grows out nicely aswell. However, unfortunately Helen wasn’t taking clients when I booked in in May. I decided to go with the new salon manager Demi as I looked on her instagram and her work looked similar to Helen’s. I went along and showed her what balayage I had done before and some inspiration photos which was a warm honey blonde as I am naturally quite dark brunette. I explained I was getting married in August aswell as my birthday celebrations in May and a couple of hen do’s and weddings so I wanted my hair done for those events with the potential of a top up closer to my wedding. At first when she blow dried it, it was bright blonde, almost white and I said that was abit too blonde so she popped a toner on it and it was ok. When I washed my hair and blow dried it myself for the first time the next day I noticed numerous foil bleeds all round the front and the back aswell as looking slightly orange. My hair was dry and snapping off at the ends when I brushed it. When I tied it up for work I had to style it so you couldn’t see these foil bleeds. This cost me £165 for just colour. I was so upset and contacted the salon via Instagram. She initially said it just needed a toner and offered me a £28 refund and to come to the salon for her to correct it. I explained that the colour was ok and wanted the foil bleeds corrected however, I was reluctant to go back to her thinking if this is the level of her work then I don’t want her trying to fix it and potentially making it worse. I asked for a further refund to go and get it fixed elsewhere. I paid via the Treatwell app so I understood that it might take slightly longer. It eventually took 6-7 weeks for a total refund of £50 and I’ve spend a fortune getting the foil bleeds corrected and also hair treatments to improve the condition of my hair as I wanted it long for my wedding, but I’m now going to have to get it cut short. On top of trying to organise a wedding I was so stressed and upset about how awful my hair was and it’s just been awful. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I won’t be going back to the salon and won’t be recommending it like I used to.

I do like this hairdressers. I have always liked my hair cuts from here and i like the stylists who have cut my hair. My bad experience would be when i decided to ask for my hair to be coloured. I won’t say which stylist because i personally feel it happened due to lack of experience with my type of hair rather than neglect but then again i am no professional to really say. I have black virgin hair. I wanted a peekaboo blonde with a money peice framing my face. It turned out slightly different than i wanted, i.e the tone of the blonde, i wanted ashy darker blonde and ended up with something very yellow and money peice was thicker than i imagined but i still left feeling pretty and happy with it initially. I paid approx £160. I noticed that when i washed my hair for the first time, it was like the toner all washed out. This has never happened to me before and i could see a lot of patchyness through out and ginger roots. I reached out and stylist offered to retone it however i didn’t take up on it i had lost my confidence in the style and the salon and decided to go somewhere else to have it colour corrected and turned into a balayage. If you have black hair and wanting to go light i would probably go somewhere else. Ive included the first day pic and the pics after the first wash they will speak for themselves

First time getting my hair done at a salon after years of mistreatment and box dyeing, booked an appointment with the lovely Demi she is very professional and very focused amazing at what she dose . Loved the vibes of this place , the apt lasted 4-5 hours with my waist length hair going from a very damaged patchy quite red and brassy hair , even after all the bleach and dye my hair still felt soft and healthy as I left the salon feeling so happy with my new hair colour and cut would recommend and definitely will come again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Granted I only come here twice a year or so because I'm terrible at hair maintenance, but every time I come here I always have brilliant service. They're quick, efficient and get the job done right. I had Demi last time I popped in and I just loved how my hair looked at the end. Also one of the friendliest staff I've had cut my hair yet. Thank you. ☺️

I never write reviews but Hannah does the most amazing wash & blow dry! Im from London & no one I’ve been has been able to make my long bleached hair look as good. Made me feel like myself again, will be booking again for sure x

I have previously managed bleaching and highlighting of my own hair but had gone OTT and my hair was very damaged so I had cut it at home. I thought I would treat myself and leave it to the professionals. I opted for the super deluxe full head highlights. However, I went in with blonde hair and left considerably darker. Not happy at all with the colour and really not what you expect from a proffessional colourist. I did go back for corrective highlighting but when my hair was toned again, I was left with an uneven tone. Grey ashy ends and dark brown roots, to the point the highlights was not distinguishable. As soon as i seen my hair being blow dried, I knew there was no way this colour is staying. As soon as i got home i started stripping the ash tones out with good old fairy liquid and then did a formaldehyde free keratin treatment.. as i know this is the only way to get that hideous ash tone out and bring my hair up a few shades. I have managed to get myself back to blonde but it will take a few more washes for the colour to settle. I am happy with the full head of highlights as it is something I haven't been able to do across my own head. I am also happy with the cut but the shade I walked out with was awful. I stated i do not want any ashy tones as it looks ageing and it does not suit my complexion. Sadly, that is exactly how I left. I upload pictures of my hair colour before i went in to the salon, after the first toning, second toning and the colour i have managed to obtain now at home through stripping out the ash. I am not a professional but i think what went wrong was putting the toner all over my hair. When it should have been on the roots and newly bleached hair as my ends are too porous and absorbed all the grey toner. I know this from managing my own hair and when i bleach my own hair at home, i do use a silver hair colour on the roots and i get a lovely blonde. In all honesty i am glad the salon struggled with toning my hair as it makes up for all the hours i have spent at home on the same problem haha. My hair is notoriously brassy!! Needless to say having spent £125 i expect more for my money in the sense the brief i gave.. no ashy tones should have been adhered too. The service i received was excellent and i would recommend the salon to others.
