I am furious and genuinely heartbroken by the way I was treated at Al Zarina. I’ve been a loyal customer for over two years, spending a minimum of Β£40 every single month. I’ve always supported this store and even recommended it to my family and friends β€” but after this shocking experience, I will never shop here again. I tried to return an item well within the 7-day return and exchange policy. The item did not have a tag when I bought it, but the man behind the counter knew exactly how much it cost and sold it to me without hesitation. I kept the receipt, which clearly shows proof of purchase. When I got home, I realised the item was too short, so I sent my younger sister to exchange it β€” with the receipt in hand. Instead of showing basic decency or professionalism, the man became incredibly rude, arrogant, and insulting. He claimed the item β€œstinks of curry,” which is a disgusting and false accusation. The item was stored upstairs in my cupboard β€” nowhere near the kitchen. It was clear he saw that my sister was young and tried to intimidate and take advantage of her. His tone and behaviour were completely inappropriate and had racist undertones. When my aunty later went in to resolve the issue with the same receipt, the man doubled down on his attitude β€” shouting, being dismissive, and saying, β€œIt’s the 8th day, we won’t take it back.” When she explained that we had come earlier but were turned away, he sneered and said, β€œThat’s not my problem, take it to a charity shop.” That level of disrespect, arrogance, and unprofessionalism is absolutely vile. I’ve spent hundreds of pounds here over the years, and this is how loyal customers are treated? No apology, no respect, and no accountability. Al Zarina has permanently lost my trust, my loyalty, and my business β€” and that of my entire family. The man’s behaviour was shameful, discriminatory, and a complete disgrace to the brand.

Poor customer service. The man behind the counter doesn't know how to talk to women. He needs to learn basic manners and how to talk to customers and not reply so rudely. Spent almost Β£50 while serving me he couldn't even say thank you. I will not be going here again no exchange allowed either on scarfs.

I have had the most amazing experience today at the shop. The staff are very helpful and it just shows how diverse the modest fashion industry can be. There are men here who are extremely helpful and respectful to all women. They engage respectfully. The lady without the scarf has been extremely courteous and thoughtful. She happens to be the owner and so considerate to her staff and customers. Thank you for an amazing experience.

We’ve used this shop for years, generally good quality Islamic women’s clothes at a fair price. Friendly service. The also sell perfume. You can find them at the top of the main escalators before the public toilets, opposite Next.

A reasonable price for daily abayas. Found a nice and quality thobe for my little one. They are friendly and helpful too. Went to another big and fancy shop in the same mall, but they're overpriced and not friendly at all.

I don't usually leave bad reviews especially to local stores that need support from their community to make ends meet. But unfortunately my visit to this store and the diabolical service my family received has led me to make these comments. I went to the store in the morning to buy some modest Islamic clothing for my wife and daughter. I was taken aback when I found they have no changing rooms and I was told by a gentlemen that was working there that we can return the items for an exchange or people try things on pointing at the back of the store. As it was Abayas my wife and daughter tried the Abayas on over their clothing. Another gentlemen that was working at the store kept on coming over and this made it extremely uncomfortable for both my wife and my daughter. I did not want to buy garments not having the option to return them for a full refund so we left. I was at that point going to speak to the two gentlemen to offer them some feedback about the need for a changing room and show some discretion when someone is trying something on. However I thought I would leave it. After purchasing some garments from another store in the exchange I returned to the store as my daughter really like one of their Abayas. She again slipped it on over her clothes and picked up three items and went to the till to pay. We asked politely if there was a discount to to which a lady who said she was the owner that there was no discount, we then saw the sign saying no discount and we left it at that. Before we paid we wanted to check how much the product was as there was different prices on the clothing rail. The hangers displayed a cheaper price and the garment tag had another price. On the rail itself there was about a dozen garments like that. The difference was only a couple of pounds. The owner than said that the price was not the cheaper displayed price. I then let the owner know about the clothing rail and there are many items in there priced up the same way. The gentlemen we saw at the beginning of the day said customers change the hangers and the price is the price. I again said that it's not one or two items there are many like that, he then abruptly shut me down and did not believe what I was saying. I took the owner to show her and within a few seconds I pulled out at least 7 items that were priced up incorrectly. I went back to the till and the gentlemen again abruptly said that I came in the morning and tried loads of items on. I replied by saying there is nothing to suggest we can't try anything on and it was actually him that directed us to the corner to try something on. He then said customers change hangers with different prices, i felt he was implying that I changed hangers and I was at fault. I know was very upset and approached him asking him directly what he was trying to say, he rudely overspoke me, was condescending, was rude. I have never ever felt so belittled and upset and if it was not for my daughter wanting the outfits I would have walked out. The owner who was serving us was also rude. I would recommend they take some note in how to behave and speak to thier customers.

Went in to look for a scarf and I was constantly being watched by 1 of staff and then when I turned a corner and he couldn't see me he would quickly come and then act as if he was sorting the Scarfs out. He was acting like I was gonna steal them! I never felt so uncomfortable in my life,i was gona confront him but I just left it as I won't be going there again .

Services second to none. Very helpful and a service with a smile. Very reasonable prices and excellent quality of clothing. Reading some of these reviews, I wonder if they have been to the same shop as I didn't find any staff rude nor was I followed everywhere I went. I have been several times and not once did I experience any of that. Matter of fact they couldn't be more helpful. Definitely recommend to all. Well done to the team, keep up the good work.
