Just been in to buy lightbulbs needed 4..i asked the guy how much as no prices on any..he said which ones,they were all same brand only difference was wattage.i said all of them as they are all same..he said £2 and £2.50 so i had 2 @£2 each and 2 @ 2.50 each..screw in and bayonet were only difference..anyway wasnt rung up on till and therefore couldnt give a receipt..he said it was broken..but i had been into this same shop in summer and bought a couple of items one been a childs plastic chair and a door latch,no receipt available again..got the chair home snd discovered he had one broken(split leg) went to put latch on the door next day and some parts were missing..got taxi to return items and shop was closed,long story but just left it as to much hassle getting taxis back n forth and without receipt i thought its gonna be waste of time..back to the light bulbs i went to the newsagents few doors down after here and spotted same light bulbs for £1...omg i was so annoyed that i had just paid double the price..moral of this story is to shop around and dont buy anything from this store again..total rip of selling broken items and making up prices and no receipts..

Wouldn't suggest this place to anyone, brought an adapter for £16 & got home and opened the package, only to realise it was the wrong one. So I went back up the shop and tried to return the item as it was completely the wrong one, only to be told by the shop keeper who didn't speak a single word of English, NO we will not be giving you a full refund when the item was only opened & not tampered with at all, what happened to customers rights? Appalling.

We've just lost a small local hardware store in the area and I much prefer to use small shops when I can. So I am making more of an effort to use them when ever possible, but the bigger guys are soo much cheaper??? Well not in this case for what I wanted. Tin of Johnsons Gloss brilliant white, a bottle of white spirit, and some dust sheets. Saved about two pounds over the local corporate shop. Plus I can walk to it.
