   Absolute gem of a cafe in Wigan. Nice selection of simple but tasty homecooked food. Big breakfast was plenty big enough, really good value and the vegan wraps was tasty and incredibly reasonably priced. The lady serving was lovely and friendly. If I lived nearby I'd definitely be going there again!

   Food: Me and the hubby both got burgers. They were alright, but they weren’t handmade like the menu reckons—just your standard frozen jobbies. The buns were decent, and the salad and sauce were good. But the chips? Proper letdown. Not fries like they said on the menu—just cheap frozen chips you’d find in the bottom of your freezer. For £20 for the two of us, we weren’t expecting gourmet food, but even for the price, you’d think they’d put in a bit more effort to make it feel special. Presentation-wise, it was basic—burgers slapped on plates with chips and a couple of ketchup sachets. The food was just “get the job done” and didn’t match the cosy vibe of the place. Service: The lass serving us clearly wasn’t having a good day—on her phone, making calls, and looking like she didn’t want to be there. She didn’t introduce herself or make any effort to be welcoming, just asked, “Do you know what you’re having?” in a way that made us feel rushed. When we shouted her over to order, she made a sarcastic comment about forgetting her notepad and then went dead quiet, leaving us feeling awkward. My hubby tried to crack a joke, but she wasn’t having it, saying she “can’t remember orders when people change them.” We felt more like an inconvenience than paying customers. That said, the girl from the kitchen who brought out our food was friendly and polite, so at least she made the effort. Atmosphere: The place itself is lovely—dead cosy and proper homely. It looks like it should be a great spot to relax and enjoy your meal. But that was all ruined by the radio blasting out dance and pop hits. It was so loud downstairs you couldn’t have a proper conversation. We had to move upstairs just to get a bit of peace. For a place that looks so cosy, the music completely spoils the vibe. At £20 for two meals, I get it’s not meant to be posh, but they’ve got such a nice setup that it’s a shame to let it go to waste. Overall: It’s decent value for money at £20 for the two of us, but don’t expect anything fancy. The food was basic, the service hit-and-miss, and the atmosphere was let down by the loud music. The place has loads of potential, but it feels like they’re cutting corners where it matters—better fries, more effort with presentation, and friendlier service would go a long way. It’s not the worst place in Wigan, but it’s not one I’d rush back to.

   Loved the woman working there - she was so accommodating of our orders. The food came out piping hot and was delicious. Chicken was crispy and juicy. The sauces and toppings are unique enough to be interesting but familiar enough to be classic. Fantastic mocha - nice and chocolatey without being bitter. I wish I lived near here so I could eat there often!

   Just a bit disappointing now, have been a loyal customer for about 5 years and the new owners have botched the entire menu. Nothing is filling anymore, less flavour, smaller portions and no specials it feels like going to wetherspoons now as there is no love going into the food. Its clear enough I'm not the only one who feels this way as whenever I used to come it was near impossible to get a seat and now everytime I walk past it seems quiet.

   Tucked away in Jackson’s Court, between the bus station and Hallgate, this little cafe has earned itself a fine reputation for good food at great prices. They also have a decent selection of vegan dishes to choose from too. Not a huge cafe, but located on two floors, so much bigger than it may look from a casual walk by. We called fairly late in the day at 3PM, the cafe closes at 4PM. And I guess it had been a busy shift. The staff lovely and friendly. But left the impression they had more than had enough for one day. We ordered two different vegan burgers, both had some missing bits, listed on the menu, but not in our burger buns... Both still quite tasty. One dish was supposed to come with curry sauce and without it, it was a little flat. Both dishes cost only £7 each, which is stunning value. Even missing some ingredients! Front of house training needs a tiny amount sharpening by the management. The staff a little casual with customers and their requests. But still great food and great value. With a little more attention to details would easily be five stars. But for the above points.
