Had to wait in a queue for the checkout for nearly 15 minutes totally not acceptable. Only one checkout for cash / returns in the middle of the day is not on. I very nearly left my paint, brushes and spray on the floor and walked out. If this happens again I won't hesitate to leave my potential purchases on the floor, leave and never return.

⸻ I bought a kitchen from B&Q Halesowen. According to our agreement, the latest delivery date was supposed to be January 17, but they told me that if I found installers for the kitchen, I could request delivery at any time. I found the installers, and when I called a week ago, they told me that part of the kitchen could be delivered on December 18, and the rest on January 17. I was extremely shocked by this. I went to B&Q Halesowen, and they told me that I could only collect part of my order myself, and that they would deliver the rest. Using my own means, I collected the items they gave me, but bigger problems appeared. Many items were missing, or there were completely unrelated parts on the list that I had not chosen. When we started installing the kitchen, the worktop was missing. I called B&Q Halesowen, and they said it wasn’t on the list. This made no sense and was incredibly disappointing. My home has turned into a disaster zone. We couldn’t find many of the materials, so I had to go and buy them again. When I told the staff about the issues, they blamed me and said I should have checked my order. I am not a kitchen specialist—I don’t know these materials. Everything has become a complete mess. I called many places trying to explain the problem, but no manager or responsible person has called me back or fixed anything. Right now, the kitchen is half-finished, and since the rest won’t arrive until January 17, I have to wait. My living room is filled with all the kitchen items, so we couldn’t even put up our Christmas tree. We won’t be able to celebrate because the house looks like a war zone. I would never want anyone else to go through this. I strongly condemn B&Q for this behaviour.

We came into B&Q to have a look at the take away kitchen range and after a what felt like an eternity of looking at the different ranges, sizes, finishes etc we realised that we needed a bit of help. Morgan was already on the isle and approached us which was great timing. Nothing was a bother for him. He was very knowledgeable on the products and helped us get the correct unit sizes, unit doors, he helped us get the worktops and additional finishing touches. He even helped load our trolley, grab another trolley and load it, helped us take the trolleys to the till as they were both very heavy, and take our trolleys to the car, even helping us unload the items into the car. Morgan gave me and my husband an amazing service and left us extremely confident with our purchase. I had to make sure that this review was given because you don't get a top service like this anymore and Morgan most definitely deserves the recognition here! Thank you for all of your help!

Good sized store and staff are friendly enough. However everytime I come here lately theres always stock issues. They ran out of applicator guns on a prior visit. Today I asked for an item, they said they had 3 in stock, then they couldn't find it, i left after ordering one for next day collection only to be told after driving through a bunch of roadworks its ready to collect and they found the item is actually in stock. Click and collect service is awful too, long wait, 'I'm here' button has been broken for ages so you have to grab a member of staff anyway. Please consider collection lockers or a permanently staffed counter, if Argos can do it so can you guys. Needless to say after driving back through roadworks I was fuming. Other than the awful stock issues, decent store.

Looking for compost? Pots? Planet? As someone who really enjoys plants and gardening, I usually get my compost from Lidl since it’s close to where I live. But it hasn’t been in stock for a while, so I decided to check out B&Q instead. I have to say, it was worth the trip. The compost selection at B&Q is much more diverse — and surprisingly, even more affordable than I expected. It definitely made me feel like going a bit further was worth it for better choice and value. That said, I was a bit disappointed with their selection of indoor plant pots. The variety in sizes and colours was quite limited, and I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. Still, overall it was a good experience and I’ll probably go back for compost again.

Always found what I needed. however on my recent click and collect order the new system is a little cumbersome. one of my click and collect orders did not have a 'colour' area to collect from, The self service areas means there are just no staff around to help. There are 'call for help' buttons, the first 2 didnt work, the third did ring however it took quite a while until somebody walked past - now please note this member of staff wasn't actually coming to help she was about to walk past, spotted me and asked . "did you just ring that?" as she was it flashing. I managed to get what I needed in the end although to be honest this particular click and collect ended up taking me longer than just going to get the items in person (although they were reserved for me). Usually when you get a collection area then it's very swift.

B&Q is B&Q....we all know what we're getting, but i have to leace this review as i though a particular member of staff was just simply amazing. I usually only have to come here when its complaints about a company, but its only right that i shout out a lady i Halesowens store called Eda/Edan? Cant quite remember, however....she was the perfect example of what a customer needs in a store assistant. Really pleasant, helpful, gave advice and a thoroughly nice lady.

Good well-lit, airy DIY, building and home decorating, renovating supplier with excellent car parking and delivery services. Also has on-line services with friendly staff in-store. The prices are competitive with other outlets with the advantage of everything under one roof.
