Really chill coffee shop with a great vibe & good music. The Americanos were tasty. The tangy chicken sandwich was really delicious & the pastel de natel was amazing. The best I have had in years. The place is charming & absolutely worth stopping by.
This is a specialty coffee shop a short walk away from Chester city centre. I Paid this place visit on the 21st of September 2025, I had a flat white to drink in. The price was reasonable, the coffee was ok, but I have drank better coffee in Chester. Price of coffee beans which were available for sale in the shop were quite expensive. Competition for specialty coffee in Chester is tough, as there are plenty of these types of shops within the boundaries of Chester city centre at the time of writing. The coffee may be good for some but it wasn't quite good enough for me. Next time I'm in Chester I will try elsewhere but that's only my opinion. It is certainly better than the chain coffee shops in the city.
Met the owner today, such a lovely chilled atmosphere, was really calm and cosy. Food and drinks were unreal! An absolute hidden gem in Chester!
Obscure is my go-to coffee shop in Chester. My usual order would be a Filter coffee, but on this occasion i got an iced matcha latte. The service is always incredible here. The 2 baristas i quite often see, know what they’re doing, seriously. In addition, they have a lovely selection of cakes and sandwiches to accompany your hot and cold drinks. It is relatively small compared to other coffee shops i’ve been to, especially in Chester. However, if you’re travelling alone or with friends, i would very much recommend you come here and check it out for yourselves.
Love the caring personal touch of this establishment. Always friendly and not just with us, a rapport seems to have been built up with many customers who are also on first name terms. Regular, gluten free and vegan choices available(light bites only). Great coffee and teas available as is alternative milk choices. Very dog friendly too, which is brilliant! Also any coffee questions you are curious about the owner can give as much information as needed. Highly knowledgeable about his field.
Lovely coffee and atmosphere. The seating is moderately comfortable, with some charging outlets available (at least in front). Pricing is ok, and clean toilet available. Also dog friendly, including water and treats.
Absolutely brilliant small coffee shop. The manager is a wonderful, personable guy who is happy to talk shop, and brews a delicious roast that really hit the spot. The pastries are NOT your usual generic stuff, but rather, are carefully selected and authentic. The Pastéis de Nata are served warm and to die for.
Nice small shop slightly away from the busy pedestrian-only area of chester. Good coffee and snacks selection including vegan options. Sells whole beans as well.
Visited here for a third time today. A quaint coffee house just outside of the beautiful city walls and a small walk from the river. Service impeccable with a wealth of knowledge on the coffee they serve. A great vibe really relaxed & even better coffee at reasonable prices! They also have a small selection of speciality pastries which looked amazing! Will definitely be back
