    One of the more consistent coffee shops in Chester. The drinks are all uniform, a very good standard expected and delivered every time. There are some pretty nice batch brew and hand brew options. Toilets are always clean, great baby changing facilities, too. What makes it for me though is the staff, always friendly, always accommodating, we never feel rushed to order or finish our drinks despite how busy they are, and it does get busy. I'll be honest, we have never tried the food, but it looks nice

    Recommended this place by a work colleague who lives in Chester. Stopped in for breakfast after an early flight down to Manchester, and it was lovely. Ordered the french toast and a long black coffee. French toast was amazing and the coffee was great! Personal phone battery was low and one of the ladies behind the counter got her own charger and lent it me whilst I finished my breakfast. Was a great spot and highly recommend!

    After coming back from a month travelling in Japan, I was yearning for some quality coffee, food but especially the customer service. As a Londoner, that’s not been the case so far. But I’m glad to have discovered this incredible cafe during my short stay in Chester. All the staff members are friendly and welcoming. The decor and cleanliness is 10/10. And you just have to check out the photos to see the quality of the coffee and food. I don’t have a bad word to say. Thanks!

    Absolutely shocking. Card Payment ONLY!! You are actually prepared to turn back trade to customers who happened to only have cash on them at the time???! A very flawed policy. No wonder you were quiet. Next time I come out with my card I will purposefully spend my money elsewhere.

    Love this place. Coffee is delicious. Always pop in for a coffee when I'm in Chester. Great atmosphere. Always busy. Only complaint this time is that the tables were dirty as they had been busy. Was directed by staff member to sit at a dirty table. Told someone will be over to clean table just now. Coffee then brought over to us and plonked in the middle of the dirty cups and plates already on table. Staff member very unfriendly ignored my request to wipe table. Had to ask for a cloth at counter to wipe table. Staff then cleaned table. Also not a huge issue but customer wifi was down on this occasion. However, still my favourite Coffee place in town.

    The atmosphere inside Chalk was electric. A modern cafe with amazing coffee and even better food. It was busy inside but didn’t feel like the volume was overwhelming loud that I couldn’t hear the other person I was having a conversation with. I had a hot chocolate and it was honestly the best hot choc I’ve ever had. To eat I had the smashed avo and added bacon and poached eggs. The sourdough was lovely as well with it. Definitely recommend!
