Walked my dogs in the park for close on 25years, eat in here less these days but still occasionally but never again. Friday 3rd Sheltering from torrential rain, thought Iβd grab a bite, too late for breakfast so eventually settled for cheese on toast, after locating a magnifying glass to read the menus ( how ironic, the name of the place too) Cheese on toast not bad but was told to sit out in the rain as I had my impeccably behaved Bulldog with me. Apparently itβs ok to stand waiting to be served for 10 mins with the dog but not to sit inside sheltering. He and I was disturbing no one as I think there was 3 people out in the rain at the time. Staff were robotically polite whilst insisting I sat under a canopy outside ( no shelter whatsoever). I reluctantly obeyed but theyβll never know how close I was to telling them, thereβs always an acception to every rule, read the room, take a look outside etcβ¦ etcβ¦. Iβd ate my food by the time I had to ask for the sausages I ordered for my dog as I felt waitress payback vibe because I pushed back about sitting in the rain. Definitely wonβt recommend and certainly wonβt be eating or taking shelter inside ever again.

The service in here is generally poor quality. There are many staff behind the counter but they donβt acknowledge you. When they deal with you they are generally friendly enough. The management seriously needs to get a grip of how the queue is allowed to build up. People are waiting far too long for a simple cup of tea or coffee. Some of the staff look at you like they are making a judgement on your appearance.

Ordered the two styles of pancakes on the breakfast menu; the strawberry with cream and Nutella drizzle for my daughter was demolished and looked great. Mine; the fruit, pancakes and maple syrup, sadly had hardly any fruit on at all. It seemed a complete waste of money, when your quartering a raspberry so you have at least some fruit with your pancake! Wish I'd ordered my daughters choice! Next time! Otherwise the cafe is lovely, staff are friendly, but we did end up eeding to sit outside though as when it's busy it's very noisy indoors!

Superb cafΓ© in the glorious setting of Calderstones Park. Delightful staff (Bronwyn was amazing today when the till had a funny turn when she was doing my order). That really stuck out to me that the mostly young staff were polite and efficient. Food was wonderful too.

Visited to listen to the SOSO choir on a pleasant May bank holiday yesterday. The Choir where fabulous. The venue is generally good however my partner witnessed poor Staff Management practice when two Managers appeared to have a very loud complaint about bar staff work patterns and leaving times. Perhaps some management training around appropriate conversations in private is needed and better staff working hour communication. Could have been handled much better. My partner was visibly upset after hearing how staff were treated.

Really friendly cosy cafe, with delicious cakes and a very sunny vibe. Theres a garden to sit out in, or its cosy indoors if its not. A real bonus to have in the park, and big enough to serve a lot of visitors. Vegan cake options, which they use different tongs for, in case of allergies.

Chilly day went in and had Sweet potatoe soup with my brother. Nice and warming. Get there early if you go as it is very busy .

Wonderful cafe in the heart of Calderstones park. Plenty of seating, both inside and outdoors. Many of the staff are young and it can be quite hectic during busy hours, but the food is good, the cakes are very tasty and the coffees are well made. Dogs are welcome to queue but can sit on the benches outside. Great place for families, people walking the dog or simply going for a walk and fancy a pit stop.

I'm actually shocked this place's got 3.5 on Tripadvisor. You definitely shouldn't expect restaurant food from there - it's just a small cafe for a quick bite. Staff is friendly, service is fast and they've got quite a few vegan options on the menu. I loved their iced latte with oat milk. We got ciabatta with vegan cheese and veggies + falafel and hummous wrap and they tasted just fine.
