I am writing to express my dissatisfaction regarding an interaction I had with a member of staff named Sian at the Argos inside Sainsbury’s in Orpington on 30th November 2025. When I arrived at the Argos counter, it was clear that Sian was the staff member on duty at the time. I approached her to ask for assistance regarding pillows, but her response was immediately disappointing. She gave me a very rude and dismissive facial expression, and her initial answers were unhelpful and lacking any willingness to assist. Her tone of voice was unacceptable, coming across as disrespectful and unfriendly, which made me feel uncomfortable as a customer. After asking my questions several times, she eventually decided to bring the pillows out and show them to me. However, this only happened after persistent questioning on my part, which should never be the case. As a customer, I should not feel as though I am begging or forcing a staff member to do their job. Assistance should be offered willingly, professionally, and with basic courtesy—especially for a simple and reasonable request. This interaction left me feeling disrespected and undervalued. I have been a regular customer at this Argos location and have consistently had positive experiences with most of the staff, who are usually polite, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, this specific experience with Sian stood out negatively and fell well below the standard of customer service I expect from Argos. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used constructively, as respectful communication and helpful service are essential. Customers should never feel uncomfortable or unwelcome when seeking assistance.

Normally I have found all staff to be helpful and friendly but there is one older woman there who is rude and no customer service what so ever. I was told because my item had broken they couldn't give a a refund, even though I had a receipt. Why advertise that if you are not happy you can return a item within 30 days. I had this strimmer for 2 days! False advertising! Bad customer service!

Tried to get a replacement on a Christmas present that was broken I was instantly told I couldn't get a refund which I didn't want anyway the store manager swore when I got my dates mixed up on the sale as I had lost my receipt however was advised if I went to the branch I purchased from they could trace the transaction. The store manager then went ahead and shouted at me and accused me of never purchasing the item from the store alot staff then started gathering round the manager as I began to resolve this which then the store manager was going on lunch so I would have to wait half n hour, five minutes on the phone to customer service and they found my sale from that day and I had purchased the item. Avoid this store lovely young lady was so polite who was the till and offered help but the managers not so helpful and very rude and I was very polite however the store manager seem to have a problem as I was work in a customer facing role I would never have treated a customer the way they did !!! Now to wait on receipt from customer service and il be visiting a much nicer local branch not this one!!!!

Come early in the morning when it's less busy. It's also opened ahead of every other stores and you can avoid the crowd. Has most household items you need. The only downside is parking is not free at The Walnuts.
