   I previously left a review due to a misunderstanding.The staff at this store were actually polite and helpful to me, but my partner misunderstood the situation because of a language barrier.I have removed the earlier review to correct the mistake. I am a BQ customer for the long period of time and I love it for product avibility and always helpfull staff across all shops. Once again apologies for the inconvenience.

   Very good shop for building materials and tools, unfortunately too costly. The same tools can be found at screw fix, tool station 40-60% cheaper.

   I was in the store on Thursday ,needed help with a plumbing help. A man (un fortunately I did not get his name )came up waited for me while I made an emergency nature call .He was very polite and even identified an old water inlet valve seal. Told me B& Q did not stock it but guided me where else I could try . I think he deserves a praise for politeness and going above and beyond his line if duty.

   We had to travel here from Scarborough as we needed the in-store cutting saw and Jack could not have been more helpful, absolutely first class service both on the phone which was answered promptly and in store, Jack in particular was knowledgeable quick polite and helpful.

   this is the biggest B&Q stores I've been in! Everything was very well laid out and clear with staff being happy to help if you have any issues finding what you need. Trade point entrances for grafters make it a quick stop for materials and there's plenty of parking. Would highly recommend using this B&Q if youre visiting York.

   Huge place with loads of stock. Plenty of parking. The prices are generally fair and you can sometimes pick up a real bargain in the reduced section.
