Staff were really lovely and helpful. But along with poor Christmas Day food, we encountered a few problems. First of all, 8 of os were placed around 3 tables, with one table being pushed against the wall, meaning 2 people had to share one side of a table (someone was eating Christmas lunch on the corner of a table) The food was really bad. Most of it was sent back from a few people. How on earth anyone can call that a Christmas lunch. It’s worse than we have had on most Sundays. Finally, a table was placed in front of the fire exit doors, meaning our disabled family manager couldn’t get outside easily for fresh air. If there was an emergency then getting her out of the room would have taken longer. This really shouldn’t have happened. It was like you were trying to cram as many tables as possible to fit people in, without considering the consequences. Overall, we’d certainly not be going back based on that experience

A family friendly neighbourhood pub with delicious food, drinks and excellent service. Perfect for Sunday roast or watch football on the screens with friends. Outdoor seating in the summer is beautiful.

I booked a table online for my birthday, when we got there, our booking was on the system but they didn’t have a table for us. Two tables were pushed together near an open door, which wasnt to bad but my children did start to get cold and we had the pop a blanket around them. We ordered our food with a 40% off voucher which was great however, there was no fish or kebab pizzas available so two guested had to choose something else and I ordered a hotdog pizza, which was put through as a hotdog, the lady who served us did run through the order and I saw hotdog on the screen but assumed it was the pizza. So when it arrived with everyone else food I then had to wait another 30 mins for my pizza to be made. We could have just paid the difference but we kept the hotdog as it was just going to go in the bin and ended up paying full price for my pizza which I feel we should have been offered a discount. So whilst all my family ate I had to wait and ate on my own. I have no issues with the food tho it was all delicious and piping hot.

I went for lunch with a friend, she had been before, but it was my first visit. They have a lovely beer garden and their own pizza oven inside, and your pizza is made freshly as you order it. The food was lovely, served piping hot, on warm plates. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely go again!

When I arrived, there was only one young member if staff who was trying her best to serve food, remove used plates, glasses and serve drinks at the bar to the right persons waiting to be served. This is not the young girls fault, it is the sole responsibility of Marston brewery in not having sufficient staff at a busy period of the day. It would help immensely to recruit staff if you paid a decent wage and not just the minimum allowed by law. The price of your drinks are all the most expensive in the immediate area so with the profit made at the Talbot, you have no excuses other than profit over service and a good experience.

A brilliant place to go for lovely food and drinks. A fantastic atmosphere by the staff who all enjoy their jobs and put in a great effort to work well as a team. Homemade pizzas are delicious, and the ultimate Southern fried burger is another one of my faves! My new go-to place!

Had two poor experiences here a few years ago but figured I'd give it another go. Upon arrival, we were told we were looking at a 45 min wait for food which seemed a little strange for half six on a Tuesday but we agreed and sat down. Waited over an hour before we complained, the food still hadn't been started. Was closer to an hour and a half by the time it came. Good portion sizes and tasty food when it did arrive.

Really enjoyed the food here. Service was very friendly especially from Anne who went out of her way to make sure we were looked after and comfortable. Nice touch bringing our drinks over to us while we sat down. Nothing seems too much. Excellent atmosphere and very welcoming.

Large party of us celebrating a birthday. Asked us to provide them with everyone’s starters and main courses. Arrived, staff very pleasant and helpful. Meals arrived within couple minutes of each other, so no one was left waiting and was piping hot. Everyone commented how lovely their food was. The pub was warm and welcoming with the fires lit. Clean and tidy. Staff and service was excellent. Great place to have a meal, drinks for a quick catch up or celebrations and I would highly recommend you visit.
