Bought new stop start battery for 64 plate Honda Civic. Told at counter registering battery to car computer doesn't always work and may get warning lights as a result. If I knew it couldn't be registered I wouldn't have paid Β£50 installation and would have fit it myself. Could have fitted it with my tools, just don't have the tool needed to register it. Technician was 30 minutes late. Found his attitude ignorant, didn't want to speak, appeared to be in a bad mood. While sat in my car I witnessed the technician rip and yank out battery housing aggressively without any care then threw it on floor. When replaced battery I asked if he was going to try registering it to the car computer. (Says on Halfords website that this is the main reason to have a stop start battery fitted by a professional.) Technician said as it was a 2014 car, it doesn't need registering to the car's computer. However online it says it does and there are potential consequences and damage to the battery life/ damage to alternator and other potential issues if this isn't done. Got home and discovered the technician had snapped the top strap of the battery housing with his rough treatment of it. There were also 4 parts of it that he had left loose and unfastened that I put back together myself. The start stop element of battery isn't working, error light coming on. I'll be making a formal complaint and won't be using Halfords services again once this is sorted.

I had a great experience at the Halfords Wigan store. I use a lot of their Advanced tools daily as a mechanic, so Iβm in quite often, and the team are always helpful and knowledgeable. On my latest visit, I bought a new tool trolley which turned out to be heavier than expected. A young blonde lad in the store noticed and immediately offered to help. He walked it out with me, took real care manoeuvring it, and helped lift it into my van without me even asking. Itβs that kind of genuine, above-and-beyond service that keeps me coming back. Friendly staff, reliable products, and support that actually makes a difference couldnβt ask for more. Highly recommend the Wigan store.

I visited Halfords Wigan today for a basic 5-point car check and tyre check, but the team went above and beyond and completed a full 10-point check free of cost. The staff were extremely helpful, and a special mention to Morgan, who was very friendly and supportive throughout. Highly recommend this place for their excellent service and customer care!

Called in the Wigan branch the gentleman on the desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. A young man by the name of Ben helped me with a problem I had. He was so very pleasant, knew what he was talking about and had a great sense of humour (I know nothing about cars except where to put the petrol). Ben is an asset to your branch. In fact the four gentlemen working in the branch were really, really nice.

Couldnt give a zero score. I bought a halfords brand headlight bulb in chorley They gave me the wrong bulb. Tried to exchange in wigan. They asked for receipt. Who keeps receipts for a tenner and then for details on app on iPhone. Tried to go through chorleys sales records for Tuesday morning. I can't remember if I paid cash or or receipt. The manager finally showed his face afterv20 minutes in back office trying to make excuses. Tried to suggest i reurned to chorley and spend a tenner in fuel. The chap next to me was having similar problems. No common sense or customer care Never going back

Not a great experience in store. I reserved an item online that wasnβt in stock on arrival so we had a 15 mile drive for no reason, the staff attitude on arrival was very patronising and no alternative products or suggestions were given to try and help our situation. Halfords you really need to get your act together and sort out the bad attitude of your staff.

Staff were really helpful, courteous and polite. I came to them because I needed a new car battery, they recommended the Halfords Motor Club which meant Iβd get money off the car battery and money off fitting. I decided on the premium package as itβs more value for money. Highly recommend Halfords Wigan!!
