Called in for the first time today 13th november went in to buy 2 external door locks the man behind the counter was very helpful and knowledgable which was good as i didnt have a clue what i was doing he sold me 2 locks that fitted perfectly thank you for your help
Not only is this like a toyshop for fabulous well priced artisan and practical fixtures and fittings,- you can enjoy expert advice from a real person.....(none of this "it's on aisle 7") business. Visited again today with a garage door closing challenge,...perfect fixings supplied after patient advice from an experienced expert who knows his stock and the best solution to offer. Professional businesses like these are a rare find these days, and a pleasure to visit.
Fabulous service! You can go in with the most bizarre of hardware requests and they will try to accomodate/find a solution (and quite often surprisingly cost effective) I hope they keep trading forever!
To be able to walk up to a sales counter and actually speak to someone these days is rare…. even more rare is speaking to someone with knowledge and understanding of their products! I have been using Shaws for a number of years following a recommendation from a friend( Builder). I have always been delighted by their attention to details and Can Do attitude to ensuring that the product is exactly right. A number of weeks ago I incorrectly ordered some door furniture and did not realise it was not suitable until just before fitting. We quickly ordered the desired replacements items which Shaws got in stock very efficiently. Much to my delight Shaws agreed to me returning all six items , I had purchased in error , and then quickly processed a refund. Well Shaws ( Jonathan & Tracey).

For the size of the shop, a great choice of ironmongery. And at great prices. Fellas in there are knowledgeable and helpful.
This is a great shop, I just wish I'd known about it years ago. They have a huge range of ironmongery and will actually sell you what you want - if you need three screws, you get three screws, not a plastic box with 200 in. They're very helpful and knowledgeable too.
