   We recently had a new kitchen fitted and supplied by Huws Gray in Newark. We were provided with an excellent, professional service from Chloe in the kitchen department, from the planning right through to the after service. We couldn’t fault anything about the whole service that we received, which includes the fitter, Stephen, who did a fantastic job. The quality of materials used is of the highest quality and we are thrilled with the finished result.

   We have used Huws Gray in Newark since moving to the area two years ago Each time I visit I am delighted by the level of service and genuine interest in the projects I’m doing. The advice is spot on the service attentive and prompt irrespective of department We have used timber department wherein Mark and the cutting service were great, Tom in the hire department, Chloe in Kitchens and especially Luke on the counter…what an asset to your company.    Lovely kitchen and bathroom showroom, was really impressed with how bright and welcoming it all was. Chloe in showroom is just brilliant with her designs and such a dream to work with, so knowledgeable and professional and I felt she really listened to what I wanted. Highly recommend coming here if you're wanting new kitchen or bathroom, it wasn't my first thought when I started looking but glad it was recommended to me by good friends.

   I cannot even give the service I have received from build base Newark even one star, however to submit this review I have had to give a one star above. I was refurbishing a property which I intended to rent. I ordered new doors and some new cabinets for an existing kitchen which has been supplied by build base some years ago. The costs of the cabinets and doors actually came to more than a full new kitchen from Howdens. However, as I had previously had good results from upgrading Sheraton Kitchens also supplied by Build base I decided to proceed and use Build base again. Although the kitchen designer was well aware that a previous customer had had problems with a painted kitchen from Symphony she continued to let me order a black painted kitchen from the same range that another customer had had problems with. As I was updated the whole house there was some delay in fitting the kitchen. However once the kitchen had been fitted I noticed that there were small marks on nearly every door where the paint had not taken properly. I immediately contacted Build Base and when I said I had a problem their adviser cheerfully said " oh is there a problem with the paint on the doors " I asked if she had had this problem before and she yes another customer had had the same problem but not to worry as Symphony were very good and would replace the doors. She asked me to take photos of the doors and she would arrange replacements. I was really angry that Build base were clearly aware that there was a problem with these painted kitchens and I asked her why they were continuing to sell kitchens which had proved substandard. No answer. As I needed to finish the house and get it on the rental market I accepted the offer of replacement doors provided that either build base or Symphony paid for the refitting of the doors. That was back in June 2019. The first set of doors which arrived with a fitter from Symphony arrived in August only to find that some of the new doors could not be fitted as they were damaged. After a visit from someone from Symphony and the manager from Build base a new set of doors were ordered. Those doors were checked at the buildbase depot by a representative from Symphony only to find that some of them still had flaws and could not be sent out to me. Another set was ordered and it was the same story again. Finally a fourth set of doors arrived which I am told are perfect and they have been delivered today some seven months after my first complaint. During this time I have not been able to let my property and have lost £950 rental income per month a total of £6650. It seems that selling perfect goods is not important to Build base as they are happy to sell kitchens they know have manufacturing faults and put the onus back on the manufacturer to replace faulty doors . They are not interested in the upset, inconvenience or cost implications this has for their customers. Despite the fact that this saga has been going on for over seven months I have never had an apology nor any offer of any compensation for the disruption or loss of income I have suffered from doing business with them . Be very wary of ordering a kitchen from this company as Buildbase does not accept any responsibility for anything they sell despite the fact that it is the distributors responsibility to ensure that the goods they are selling are fit for purpose.

   It wasn't a great start to a Saturday morning the shed door wasn't open for plaster boards and the bloke didn't seem bothered took me half an hour to get 5 plaster boards

   I live in Lincoln but was doing a skirting job Newark way so i thought I'd get my materials from the Newark Branch, i wished i hadn't, i wanted 5'' Ogee, it was the worst timber I'd ever come across, it was bowed, bent & twisted beyond belief to the point it was a silk purse, pigs ear situation & on top of that not one person offered any assistance, they were to busy chatting amongst them selves, it was also 8.30 on a Saturday morning & there was only one other customer in the branch. I would not recommend using this branch ever & being a tradesman (joiner) thats saying something !!

   Worst merchants going don’t want to help you at all and the lads in the yard hide away soon as you come out the shop and to top of off no one answers the phone absolutely terrible
