Food arrived cold despite us being the only ones eating. Waitress but plates down in front of 10 month old baby 3 times despite apologising the first time she did it. One meal ( a sandwich) was advertised with crisps and salad and arrived with neither ! Such a pity as it has the potential to be a great cafe. Very poor for a national trust establishment
Such a great idea to change stables into a café! Lovely interior, great coffee at affordable prices and friendly staff. Huge + for iced coffee served in a glass rather than plastic cup like most places.
Lovely location, but the cafe seemed a bit chaotic on Easter Monday. We had to ask for our table to be cleared from the previous customers. When this was done, the table was left dirty. I asked for it to be cleaned up, but this never happened. I had a sausage roll, which at £4.00 was very small, mainly pastry, and rather overcooked. Too long in the hot cupboard? Tea was served in a cup with no saucer and we overheard a staff member say to other customers that they were running out of crockery because it hadn't been washed up. Our order wasn't taken properly, with one item missing when served. I can only think the operators hadn't staffed it up properly and the those there were getting tired after a busy bank holiday weekend.

Very pleasant place to enjoy a cake and a cup of tea. The staff were lovely even though their chef wasn’t in, so a full menu wasn’t available. We were happy with our tea and cake which came to around £10+ We tried the chocolate and orange brownie, and the salted caramel cake. Both were delicious! Lovely warm atmosphere, made comfortable with padded seating and cushions. It makes you wonder that a horse once stood where you were relaxing with a cup of tea.
Very small choice of food. Online on the website there is a proper menu. Mentioned this and staff said they hadn't changed the website yet. Had sausage bun. Not very nice sausage and it arrived literally in a dry bun on a plate. Staff pleasant but not very attentive.
The Stables Cafe is a wonderful oasis for coffee, pastries, or brunch. Lots of outside tables and plenty of private tables inside. It's quite a find.
Cafe in lovely grounds, with a nice outside area to sit with dogs. Good range of vegan options. Milk kept on separating in my coffee, so perhaps needs to switch to a different non-dairy milk
This is our favourite café in Twickenham, perfectly located adjacent to Orleans House Gallery and with views of the gallery's woodland garden. The café is kept very clean and has good Covid protocols and plenty of outdoor seating beneath generous umbrellas in the stables courtyard. The café also has 6 or so indoor booths, which are perfect for working or catching up with a friend. We love the selection of delicious cakes, well-prepared snacks, excellent coffee and friendly staff.
