   Tranquil coffee shop in the midst of bustling Southgate. Never especially busy which is a bonus if you are looking for a coffee and chill out. A community focussed business which displays work from local artists and also has a book swapping service so bring along your well-thumbed Shades of Grey and swap out for a John Grisham or even an Enid Blighton. Let's not forget the staff who are lovely too.

   This is a good cafe to spend some time at. I had an americano from here, that was really smooth. Unfortunately, they do not serve coconut milk - their non-dairy milk options are only soya milk and oat milk. The seating is comfortable and there are many interesting shops and eateries nearby.

   What happened to this place?? Harris & Hoole used to be somewhere you could get a reliably good cup of coffee. Not any more. It’s a long time since I’ve been here. They used to serve a fantastic Guatemalan espresso by Union Roasters but have since switched to their own Peruvian Roast. This was a bad move. The coffee is better than the well known high street coffee shops that we all love to hate, but that isn’t saying much. They’ve gone from great coffee to just OK it’s better than Costa coffee. Staff give off a vibe that they don’t want to be there and the atmosphere in the shop is just drab. I remember this place buzzing with people but I walked past a busy Coffee shop across the road to find H&H empty. What a shame.

   Wonderful cafe. A cosy place with a warm cheerful atmosphere. Perfect place to have breakfast and lunch. They have a good range, from sandwiches to toasties, bacon roll, ham & cheese croissant. Muffins and cakes are tempting. The gingerbread men brings out the kid in you. The decor feels like an art gallery, as they have some charming art on display. They also have a shelf full of books available to read. I like the look of their cups and plates too. There's an interesting style to them. What adds to the charm are the friendly staff, they're always smiling and welcoming. My every visit is a pleasant one. I'm now a regular customer. ^_^
