A really nice place tucked away just around the corner from Balham tube station. It’s clearly very popular, as there’s usually a big queue on Sunday lunchtime. We decided to visit on a Saturday afternoon instead, and it was much more manageable with only a short wait. The atmosphere was welcoming, and everyone there was friendly, approachable, and more than happy to help, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Had a genuinely mixed experience. The good The place looks gorgeous: cosy, warm, great for a proper catch-up dutch baby chicken was spot-on: beautifully crispy but english muffic and the channa shakshuka was average The not-so-good 30+ minute wait for a table (even with just two of us) – it’s clearly popular, but felt unnecessarily long flat white was a disaster: watery, weird fishy aftertaste. Couldn’t drink more than two sips. Stick to coffee or fresh juice instead and having filter water they charge you £3. Come for the cosy atmosphere and the food (the savoury dishes really are very good), but manage expectations on wait times and definitely skip the matcha. it’s a nice hangout spot – but I’ll be ordering differently next time.

I visited The Apple Blue with my best friend, and we had a mixed experience. Firstly, we had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. I understand the place is trendy and busy, but the wait was a little frustrating, especially when you’re excited to eat out. The food was decent overall. We tried the Egg Royale and the Slow Cooked Lamb. The Egg Royale was fantastic the salmon was fresh, and the egg was cooked perfectly. The lamb was also very tasty, especially when paired with the side of pitta bread I ordered it worked really well together. I also ordered a side of halloumi, which was nicely grilled and added a great touch to the meal. For drinks, I got a coffee and a matcha. Unfortunately, the iced matcha was watery and had a strange, almost fishy taste. I had chosen the oat milk matcha with vanilla syrup, and it was such a disappointment that I couldn’t enjoy it. I won’t be ordering matcha here again a fresh juice would have been a much better choice. The atmosphere is lovely cosy and comfortable, perfect for catching up with a friend. However, the waiting time and disappointing matcha affected our overall experience. If I return, I’ll likely stick to coffee or natural juices and avoid matcha. Overall, The Apple Blue is a nice spot with good vibes and tasty food, but some aspects, especially the drinks and table wait, could be improved.

Its menu is impressively varied, offering options hearty enough for those with a big appetite, yet equally satisfying for diners seeking something lighter. This versatility makes it an easy choice for groups with different preferences. What truly sets Apple Blue apart, however, is its atmosphere. The setting feels distinct, designed to stand out from more formulaic cafés, with an ambiance that encourages you to slow down and enjoy your meal at leisure. The service is another highlight. Staff members aren’t just attentive but genuinely polite and approachable. They take the time to listen carefully, ensuring that each request is handled with consideration. It’s the kind of service that leaves you feeling valued, not just served. Altogether, Apple Blue Café & Restaurant is more than just a place to eat, it’s an experience that combines thoughtful service, a broad menu, and a setting that feels refreshingly individual.

Already one of my favorite coffee shops. Food and service were impeccable, the cookie was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the staff were super friendly and quick. Can’t wait to come back!

Scrumptious brunch, reasonably priced. Iced chocolate was so good I had to have two. Dutch baby with fried chicken highly recommended. Will definitely be coming back. Great service too.

Nice little cafe which I love to go there regularly. I love their savoury options and pastries. My favourite option is Turkish eggs with sausage. We tried the French toast once but find it quite heavy and not to our taste. The thick hot chocolate is the best but I don’t like the nougat and the coffee is good. Their cookies and praline chocolate croissant are really good as well. Staff always nice.

Most of the food looks great, I do think I went for the wrong choice. Partner had the shakshuka and it was delicious, would really recommend. I would choose anything on the savoury menu or a pastry if you’re looking for a bit of a sweet fix. I had the French toast after all the great reviews but I really wouldn’t recommend it. It’s overly sweet and I love to choose sweet options for brunch like pancakes etc usually. I could only eat two mouthfuls and then had to leave the rest. It’s absolutely smothered in peanut butter and syrupy sauce. If you were to choose this maybe it would be good as an extra that’s shared between a group to have only a tasting mouthful after their main brunch meals. I hope to revisit soon and choose something different! X

Amazing! Came here for brunch over Easter weekend and, genuinely, the Dutch baby & fried chicken is 1 of the very best brunch dishes I have ever had. Simply delightful. Staff were great; really happy & friendly. Reasonably priced too with a great selection of cakes & pastries. We will be back for sure.
