Smoke and salt always delivers on an excellent evening. Every time we go we are were delighted to see that they still take the same approach of meals that surpise with fresh flavours. The tasting menu is excellent value and everything we have had was delicious. A personal favourite is the variations they do on trout, we have had it smoked, cured and in sashimi. The chef is happy to look after dietary restrictions and they provided excellent gluten free alternatives. The burger evening is terrific value, at £14 for a burger and chips that far exceed what you would expect, my wife loves the gluten free bun they make in house. The add ons are always excellent too, for example the sausage rolls were amazing. Service is great, we have been well looked after every time we have been. Cant wait to come back!

We were a large group of 8 to celebrate a birthday and so had to have the same tasting menu. There are 2 types and we went for the larger culture menu. There is a shorter sharing menu too. As we had one very elderly person they had just a few dishes. It's possible to add on a wine pairing but we did not. To start we had warm pretzel bread with smoked butter and honey mustard. The fish course was monkfish. The meat was two pieces of aged beef sirloin. The accompaniment to the meat was mushrooms. The dessert of pumpkin-spiced tiramisu was the preferred dish of the menu. Other sides not on this menu seems to be crispy parsnips and new potatoes. At other times they offer pheasant, beef heart and/or trout. The food was perfectly cooked. It was on the whole better than ok but not quite outstanding. The portion size of the butternut squash was quite big and overall it meant you weren't left hungry at least. Had a mocktail which was pretty weak in flavour. They didn't give petits fours for everyone on the table, which was poor form. We had the privilege of dining at Smoke and Salt last Thursday (16th Oct) to celebrate two special occasions. I could not fault the experience. From the incredible service, to the exceptional food, we had a really special evening and one that stands out amongst other London dining experiences. Charlie was our server for the evening and his knowledge of the tasting menu and wine pairings was fantastic - the service was spot on, and the efficiency of drinks arriving once ordered was the best we’ve experienced - thanks to Serena. The communication amongst front of house and the chefs was professional and streamlined and made for a brilliant ambience within the restaurant. We discussed this with fellow diners, who were equally blown away. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and have done so to family and friends! We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a truly unforgettable experience at Smoke and Salt. Incredible.

My partner and I dined at Smoke & Salt to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We opted for the “Culture” tasting menu. Every dish was exquisitely presented and perfectly seasoned. All came out in good time even though it was a Saturday evening. What made it really special was the hospitality of the restaurant staff. The chef came out and welcomed us and explained each dish to us. You can tell the genuine passion they have for food at this restaurant, and every dish is made with precision and care. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect for us as it was a peaceful environment and we could have a conversation easily, which you don’t get with many restaurants in London! The ambience of the restaurant, the attentiveness of the staff and the quality of the food really makes for a special and unforgettable experience. Fantastic from start to finish.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday to try the shared tasting menu (vegetarian option). Service was really friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, the portions are deceivingly filling! If you don't want to fork out for the wine pairing then definitely try the house white! It is pricey but the quality of food is worth it :)

Wanted to visit Smoke & Salt for some time and was not disappointed. 6 course sharing menu was excellent. Sunchokes with chorizo and salsa Verde was a real highlight. As was the Highland Wagyu beef with Wiltshire truffle. A well portioned seasonal menu brilliantly executed, and for the quality very well priced in my opinion.

Genuinely one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Tasting menu with optional wine pairing both incredible value (along the lines of the Dairy that used to reside in Clapham and was an old favourite before it closes, but even more inventive). Literally couldn't fault anything we had and the service was top quality to boot. Tricky to get in online but called up on a Saturday afternoon on the offchance and Remi kindly called back able to fit us in so worth trying this avenue if nothing available online. Can't recommend this place enough - we will be back soon!

Amazing food at a great price. Six course tasting menu with drink pairing for £75 is good value for money. The food portions are perfect, no leftovers means no waste and you leave filling full. The flavours are creative and the food is fresh. They're changing to a Christmas menu in a couple of weeks so we'll be going back.

Divided opinions - at our table of four, some loved the food and found the service lacking while others thought the service great but the food quite average. Service - Our friends who arrived 5 minutes early (and didn't make the booking) were chased by the waitress multiple times when we were arriving. She had our booking time wrong (thinking we were 10 minutes late instead of 5 minutes early) and made the start of the dinner uncomfortable for our friends. Her reason for rushing them was that "latecomers confuse the chefs" which we found odd as there was no guarantee we would have chosen the Tasting Menu. Throughout the evening the waitress was also quite curt when explaining food and drinks - and service overall did not leave us with a good experience. It wasn't until we left that our friends told us that they were being told off for being late for our booking and I wish I knew so we could have cleared it at the start and shown proof of the booking time on email. Food - Not for the faint hearted. The flavours on the Tasting Menu changed drastically with every dish. You start off with some lovely warm bread and special butter. Then move on to a Mediterranean dish, then a heavily curried dish, then a mild European smoked dish followed by a sorbet and mousse pudding. It was a wild ride - which I loved, but others in the group not so much. As avid Tasting Menu fans (we've had 4 in the last 3 weeks alone) this is the first place I've seen my partner not eat 2 out of 6 dishes. Glad we managed to try this Tasting Menu, which was both fairly priced and generously portioned, but we would probably not rush to go back again.
