Lost a regular due to ingredients We used to buy the Napoleon cake all the time. It was our weekly treat and we would happily pick up four every Saturday. Now we would rather buy nothing at all. The quality has dropped so dramatically that it feels like a completely different product. The pastry tastes stale and old. The cream tastes artificial and plasticky, more like the long life type you find on a shelf rather than anything fresh. It has a powdered flavour that is impossible to ignore. I took two bites and threw the rest away. It was that unpleasant. The taste is so bad that it feels like eating something that was made years ago with cheap ingredients. Nobody deserves food that tastes like this. Not even a dog or someone in need. It is genuinely that unappetising. We stopped buying it about five months ago, which is around the time the recipe must have changed. It cannot be that the cakes sat out for too long because we used to buy them on a Friday and only eat them on Sunday or Monday without any issues. It is a real shame because this used to be a favourite and now it is completely inedible.

I was really disappointed with the French Country Cake from Borneo Bakery. If youβre expecting anything close to the traditional recipe, this isnβt it. The texture felt off, the flavour was flat, and it completely lacked the rustic, rich character a proper French country cake should have. It doesnβt have enough layers and blueberries jam.For the price, I was expecting quality and authenticity, but it tasted more like a generic sponge than anything remotely French. Definitely not something Iβd buy again

Had the most amazing coffee break at Borneo Cafe & Bakery. Perfect flat white; I couldn't resist their display of sweet and savoury treats and tried an apple and cream croissant which was delicious. Lovely atmosphere, cosy setting, easiest 5 star ever

We had a lovely time at this relaxing and spacious cafe with lovely clean and modern interior - perfect for everyone and also for families with children. We had coffee and superb pastries before buying a French honey base cake that was just amazing for our son's birthday later in the day. Tsvetelin served us and advised us on our selection, very pleasant and polite gentleman. Keep up the great work!!

Popped in today as I past while on a job in a nearby flat. I walked past it at first took a glance in the window and decided to grab something to eat, had some kind of rolled pizza dough with frankfurters in it, I must say it was amazing. Nice warm light lunch followed by a couple of cream filled biscuits. Service great from the member of staff that served me. Hopefully work is in the area again as I will have to try something else.

Thereβs no shortage off cafes on Green Lanes, but very few youβd want to visit twice. Borneo manages to get it right: good food, great coffee, pleasant staff and a welcoming space - buzzing but relaxed. The panini are terrific (try the goats cheese and roasted veg) and the (Turkish-style) apple pastry is a revelation.

Great service, lovely staff if they smiled to customers that would be nice. Please remove the doorbell from the entrance as customers and I'm sure staff do not want to keep hearing such annoying announcement each time a customer enters the shop, its suppose to be a place for the public to relax and enjoy.

Looks lovely inside, I had the custard pastry, the cheese bourek and one other pastry. To be honest it was okay, nothing special. The cakes looked delicious though and the customer service was really good.
