   I had an appointment in September last year to submit my documents to obtain my passport. The service there was quick and good, but they told me that I would receive a response within 6 months. The 6 months have already passed and I have not received any email requesting payment to obtain my passport. Is that normal? ***Update: I received my passport after 6 months and 17 days. Application submitted on September 26, 2024. Payment email received on April 4, 2025, and the passport arrived on April 11, 2025.

   I have now waited 9 months for my passport to be renewed!! Cannot get in touch with anybody in Birmingham because the phone is constantly off, was told by London to contact Manchester but they do not answer emails, I'm sorry to say but its typical Italian behaviour , I am due to go to Italy at christmas but its not looking good now. 9 MONTHS FOR A PASSPORT RENEWAL WOW!!!!!!!! AND STILL WAITING.

   I am trying to get appointments for passport renewal since 3 months with both Manchester and Birmingham consulate but with no luck. There is no way to contact them by phone or email because they don't even bother to reply. My and my daughter's passports are going to expire soon and I don't think I'll be able to renew them ever with this type of service.

   Normally I never leave reviews good or bad, but this time I had to as service was appalling! They state on their booking system: "Please note that the time above is the time of arrival (not the time of appointment). At arrival, you will be assigned a number to queue and wait your turn. You should expect a waiting time of up to 2 hours. The total cost during this appointment is £45 and covers admin and shipping costs. We accept payments by cash only.". No good queu management (people kept jumping in front of each other and member of staff not doing anything about it to say which turn number should be, rather than just letting it to be as people pushed presence to get into the office, some had like 5 members in one appointment slot, which is not reasonable if everyone starts doing that, impacting who booked one appointment per individual). Plus I do understand childrens have priority but so do everyone else in the queue who waited several couple of hours! (if parents with children come two hours after customers who were already there, which is what kept happening hence further delaying me and other in the queu to get seen, that's not fair). So you waste your time (4 hours rather than 2 stated) and pay them for the appointment. Italian consulate should learn from UK British consulate and better adopt electronic systems to enable online applications hidden potential in time and money saving for their citizens and themselves.

   Won’t let us in because we don’t have an appointment and talk rudely towards us. Appointments online are unavailable so they tell us we are wasting our time and should just go home.

   Can't get an appointment for my passport. Have been trying more then four months. Never get any answer when I call them. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVIE!!!

   Had to wait in the queue for 4hrs just to get my passport renewed which only took about 5-6 minutes inside!! Awful experience, I don’t recommend this experience to other people!!

   Good service. Managed to book an appointment in may after a mistake I made I made with my passport application in April. When I arrived in may a lady was out to great the incoming enquiries, she checked all my relevant documents to make sure it was all correct. Didn't have to wait too long. Once inside. Very professional and polite service. I received my passport renewal after approx 6 weeks later.
