Absolutely fantastic place to visit. The lady who was our tour guide through the collection was absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable and passionate about the collection. Myself and my 10yo had a lot of fun and we would definitely go back another time to look at some more of the collections.
This place is amazing. So many hidden gems steeped in history. Our children (and us!) learned so much. A special thanks to Jed for showing us around. His passion and knowledge were infectious.
We went with our 9 year old boy and we all loved it! There were roughly 20 people on the tour in total, with 3 volunteers/guides so plenty of options to ask questions about the different items. There's a huge mix of things, including taxidermy, artwork, historical items and even a cross section of a meteorite! It felt really special being 'behind the scenes' seeing items in racking and boxes, and the group being relatively small meant everyone got to see what was on display easily. Will definitely go back as items change as and when things are loaned out.
Their tour was ok and the tour guide was great at explaining what she knew but she definitely focuses more on her strengths than weaknesses in their collection which made a quite large disparity on what items were discussed.
I've started a arts and craft group there. That meet once a month. I enjoy it. Lovely place and lovely people.
Amazing place. Bursting at the seems with interesting stuff to look at. Could only stay an hour or so as the stores are understandably quite chilly.
An excellent resource for anyone interested in history or art. A pleasant plethora of juxtaposed artefacts, as well as the stored collections.
Very interesting look around some of the Leeds museums artifacts in storage. Guide was full of information and enthusiasm which made it all the more enjoyable. May try and book some time in the future to look at some of the items in a bit more detail
