“Had an amazing experience with friends, it was a challenging and stimulating game with innovative hidden clues! Fantastic fun for friends and would be great for family and couples too. The host gave a lovely welcoming and helped us out with little clues when we got a little stuck. Managed to escape in 56 mins and can’t wait to try the other rooms they’re developing. Would recommend to anyone in York to visit as its a great activity.”

“What a wonderful experience I had with Sheree! Fantastic customer service. Took in every little note and put in mounts of effort! It is very clear she loves her job, as her passion is implemented through the entire experience. I felt like paying twice, to have it done all over again! She was very gentle with my hair and the whole process was extremely relaxing. I was constantly reminded of each step to ensure I was happy with the length and style throughout the process, which I was over the moon with. Such an amazing personality; she is so well suited to her role. Brilliant results, I would most definitely recommend. All other staff are also amazing as I have always received such a friendly service there!”

“We went with our 9 year old boy and we all loved it! There were roughly 20 people on the tour in total, with 3 volunteers/guides so plenty of options to ask questions about the different items. There's a huge mix of things, including taxidermy, artwork, historical items and even a cross section of a meteorite! It felt really special being 'behind the scenes' seeing items in racking and boxes, and the group being relatively small meant everyone got to see what was on display easily. Will definitely go back as items change as and when things are loaned out.”

“We came for my birthday and had a brilliant time! Ida and the Bookkeeper were fantastic and the rooms are so well themed and detailed. A really good range of puzzles ranging from relatively easy to challenging. Loved it and would definitely recommend !”

“Such a beautiful and attractive place to relax and spend time. There are nice walking areas, interesting architecture, and even the option for a boat trip with the taxi boats. It was really quiet at this time of the year,not crowded at all,I bet during summer there are a lot of people. I bet during summer there's a good variety of restaurants and bars, so everyone can find something to suit their taste and budget,but now the options were quite limited. The dock offers options for spending time outdoors, and exploring the Royal Armouries museum, which is huge and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately we couldn't visit because it was closed (Monday only). I saw that there are limited options for shopping,comparing with the city centre. Overall,we really liked it and definitely will come back during summer.”

“Only bobbed by for a quick potato scallop, which came with bits .. bloody amazing. Crispy batter, butter soft potato in the middle , with free bits on top.. rally a meal in itself , but I got one to try and review, and happy i was too. Great value .. absolutely no complaints here worth of 5 stars.”

“The BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!!! The drinks kept on coming ( we went for the bottomless brunch menu) and the drinks were all a 10/10. Big shout out to MYLES the Staff. I have never had someone attend to me with such professionalism and dedication. You just know he wants you to have a good time and ensures that happens. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. If you were considering going please do so. It was an amazing time.”

“Fantastic hotel, lady on reception couldn't do enough to help us, breakfast was good as well, only disappointed with evening meal, microwave food and not warm or very nice, definitely stay again just would go out for evening meal.”

“Nice Decent Place for Food + a Great Variety of Drinks. Been going here for sometime now for drinks or dining and always enjoy our visit. Last two visits I've noticed that the service was not up to the level which it was before for example staff taking time your order or not getting around you regularly to check up if anything needed also even after paying the bill I noticed that table was not cleared for sometime. Don't know if it was because of the less staff or just in general. The venue wasn't busy either. One thing for sure was that food was once again top notch. I'd definitely keep going here and recommend others to try this gem of a place on street lane.”

“These guys are awesome, so friendly and generous when I go with my family, food taste amazing I can't get enough of the sweets chilli chicken and kimchi rice. Go every time I'm in Leeds and the sushi is great especially when they make it fresh”

“I had a fantastic experience at Almost Famous in Leeds. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the visually appealing, urban-style decor that created an inviting atmosphere. What immediately stood out was the food. The burgers are a celebration of flavour, with juicy patties and perfectly balanced toppings that create a harmony of taste. Each bite was an absolute joy. The fries were another delightful surprise. Crisp, golden, and seasoned just right, they were the perfect accompaniment to the burgers. The cocktails deserve a special mention. Creative, beautifully presented, and packing a punch, they added a touch of sophistication to our dining experience. The taste was sublime, indicating a real talent behind the bar. However, I must say, the service could have been a tad faster. While the staff were friendly and accommodating, the waiting time for the food was a bit more than anticipated. I'd recommend having a bit of patience when you visit, but I assure you, the food is worth the wait. Later in the evening, the music volume increased, which made conversation a little challenging. But if you're a fan of lively atmospheres, this might actually add to your experience. In conclusion, Almost Famous delivers a deliciously memorable culinary experience, albeit with a slightly slow service and loud music. But, if you're up for excellent burgers, tasty fries, and outstanding cocktails, you should certainly give it a try!”

“This was a brilliant joint to grab a bowl, where the staff were really nice to serve me while I watched the food be made at my orders! The beef with tomatoes, red onions, nachos and more dressings was a total hit, plenty of seating is available here too.”

“As I'm from Newcastle I travelled to Leeds for business and was buzzing to find an O'Neills there. Soon as a walked in the guys where amazing and great open space with big screens for sports and could tell was a real buzz around the place , then we looked at the menu and the wing platter was the one we chose absolutely incredible and 3kg platter of wings was a proper topper so yes job well done”

“Good premier inn. Staff are great. Room clean and quiet. Breakfast good. Shame parking is now chargeable, even for disabled customers. Bathroom a bit sweaty sock smelling. The TV reception needs looking at as the BBC channels were not available when I arrived. Used auto tuning option and found them, but the were breaking up and pixilated.”

“Had a lovely pizza drinks and dessert here last night before going to the arena. Food was beautiful and we had amazing friendly service from Donna! “Great friendly pub, perfect for a few pints. Staff always try their best to serve as quickly as they can, but like any pub, at busy time it helps of customers help the staff by pointing out who was 1st and not jumping in front of people who have already been waiting.”

“I visited the hotel on Friday night for a Christmas party and the service by all the staff was excellent. Great service all night by Arya, Jake and Hannah. They even went the extra mile and made adjustments for certain drinks that were not on the menu, I was incredibly impressed and look forward to returning. Many thanks, Leo Bullen”

“I stayed one night here recently and I wish I stayed more! The hotel is in central location, just beside the train station. The lobby area was nicely decorated and people at the reception were friendly. I learned that rooms here has nice view of the city, so I requested for one at higher floors. The room I got was at the 19th floor and the view from up there is exquisite. You can spend hours sitting on the window bench, looking at the city and landscape far away. The room was very spacious and well decorated. The bathroom was also quite big and with a bathtub. I will definitely go back this place many times.”

“The rooms here are so clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable. In this heat we were happy to see they had a fan in the room. Good shower, TV, everything you need. We asked to have a room away from everyone else because some hotels can be so noisy with people coming in and out their rooms. But here it was completely silent. The staff are also really nice making sure you have everything you need on check in, very accomodating and also making sure we enjoyed our stay when checking out. I think if you have a car it would be good for being a little out of the way of the city centre. There's not much around the hotel but there is a Toby carvery next door, a petrol station and an Asda within walking distance. All in all it was great and exactly what we needed.”
