“I would recommend Royds Cat Hotel without hesitation. Our cat Annie, is nervous in new surroundings and previously didn’t do well when left at another cattery; lost weight and continued to eat poorly even when she returned home. After her stay at Royds it is obvious that she was well looked after! Even the standard rooms are very spacious and clean. The owners are lovely and it is obvious they love cats. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Annie here again, just make sure you book early because they are often full!!”

“Excellent location with parking. The room was very stylish ,clean and comfortable. The best thing was the healthy breakfast which made us feel rejuvenated. “We stayed at St. George's guesthouse for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room was nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. The host was very helpful and approachable, and there was plenty of on-site parking available. The guesthouse is a straight 30-minute walk to the city centre, so an ideal place for visitors to York who want a quiet place to stay. We will be sure to visit this guesthouse again.”

The reception staff were friendly and very helpful with directions around York and to the Barbican (where we were attending a concert). The hotel was very comfortable, clean and tidy. Our twin room was lovely. And it was only a short walk to the train station which we discovered on our way back (a shortcut shown to us by one of Hedley House team!). As a same-sex couple, one of the biggest reasons we chose Wentbridge was because we were treated with complete warmth and equality from the very start. We always felt valued, respected, and celebrated, never “different”, and that meant the world to us. The food was another major highlight. There were plenty of options and the team were so flexible in tailoring everything to what we wanted. We chose afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast, and it went down brilliantly with our guests, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. A real luxury touch! Wentbridge is a perfect all rounder wedding venue. With family travelling from all over, having plenty of rooms on-site was ideal, and the variety of spaces throughout the hotel created a natural, enjoyable flow to the day. “Not used the rooms but the food either dinner time or evening are always done as requested. And the Sunday roasts are even better cannot fault the place .from the owners to the bar staff ..i don't go anywhere else for meal's as this is a perfect location to where I live .highly recommend”

“We dropped in on Wednesday and parked up on large level carpark. We were welcome to stay in our motorhome overnight. The menu for the evening was carvery and desert. My wife had vegetarian option with vegetables and vegetarian gravy. My meat was very good and we both throughly enjoyed our meals. The freindly service was excellent in a pleasant old style public house.”
