Last minute stay on Saturday night at this guest house, the entrance was stunning and it smelt divine throughout, the rooms were beautiful with the world’s most comfiest bed I’ve ever slept on! Very clean with a cosy atmosphere, the tv offers a variety of apps to watch which is great! - YouTube, Netflix etc. Shower room very clean and the views from our room were amazing The lady working there was absolutely amazing such a lovely genuine soul. Thank you for making our stay relaxing. You are a credit to this place. 20 mins walk to city centre literally one straight road and such a nice walk, 5 mins in uber from the city centre which cost us £9 on a Saturday night we feel was a really good price. We will be back again soon! Thank you so much for having us xx

We stayed in room 10 on Saturday 6th September as a last minute night away and it was absolutely gorgeous. Allison was so attentive and such a lovely woman, she is a credit to the hotel and made our stay. It’s an amazing location, ubers costing £5-£8 to city centre, or if you want to walk it’s 20 minutes. The rooms are so well presented with gorgeous decor and beds are really comfortable. We didn’t opt for breakfast this time however I am sure we will when we’re back. Thank you so so much for having us, we loved every minute and we will definitely be back soon. Caitlin and Jake x

I booked this hotel for my wife and these are her words. ‘ The stay was very comfortable. I needed rest; the room / hotel was quiet & immaculately clean. The staff was very nice and cooperative. I arrived later than the check-in time & was given instructions for self-check-in which was easy and quick. Nothing bad that I can point out. Will definitely stay again.’

Fine B&B with attention centered on guest comfort. Excellent beds and bedding, quiet comfortable rooms, great location. The staff was excellent. Stays include a continental breakfast, but a full breakfast is available for an additional charge. We ordered the optional breakfast, and it was well-prepared, generous and delicious.

We stayed at St. George's guesthouse for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room was nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. The host was very helpful and approachable, and there was plenty of on-site parking available. The guesthouse is a straight 30-minute walk to the city centre, so an ideal place for visitors to York who want a quiet place to stay. We will be sure to visit this guesthouse again.

Booked a room last minute as I was visiting York for the weekend with my girlfriend. We were lucky and stunned by the service and the cleanliness of the place. A floral scent everywhere, no spot of dust, nice cozy mattress with fluffy pillows, great sized tv, what else would I need? Overall the accommodation was great and I would put 6 star if I could.

Not a purpose built hotel but a large (Victorian or Edwardian) family residence thus not soundproofed (noisy flooring and water pressure pump also no double glazing at least not where I could see). My room (5) was situated where every other visitor had to pass by my door on the way in and out of the property. If you are a light sleeper, not ideal. An emergency fire escape was also in my room - at the foot of the bed! However the room was clean and the bed comfortable. I think I'll book Travelodge or similar next trip.

Would give 6 stars if I could. The staff are of the highest caliber and super helpful in navigating York. Breakfast was fantastic and well cooked. The dining room is just lovely in every way with plenty of natural light and beautiful decor. Room was very clean, fresh and comfortable. Has an ample armoire, additional radiator and cooling fan. Bed was super comfy. Bathroom was clean and modern with good shower pressure and nice toiletries. Towels were very fluffy and clean. Do not hesitate to book if you need lodgings in York. You can walk 1 mile into town or use the #4 bus for everywhere.

Nice onsuite bedroom, cosy, t.v, & appliances in room, nice & clean, & quiet, key card access to go in out, staff not on site 24 hour but a tel number is given for 24 hour on call if any issues. Easy check in check out, would recommend but breakfast price is £15 each extra.

Such a gorgeous place not far from the city centre. The staff are absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had booked for my birthday and when we went up to the room we were surprised with balloons, a birthday banner and a card. Touches like this make an occasion that bit more special. Such a great last minute find and would definitely recommend and stay again
