We stayed for 3 nights which included the 2 night Xmas package. It was amazing. Lovely room, fabulous food and welcoming staff. The attention to detail was superb. We have booked to stay for Xmas 2026. Enough said.
This was our third year running at Wentbridge House Hotel for our works Christmas party, which probably tells you everything you need to know - if we didn’t like it, we wouldn’t keep coming back like a bunch of festive homing pigeons. The food was, once again, absolutely spot‑on. Whoever’s in that kitchen deserves a medal, or at least a mince pie with their name iced on it. The staff were brilliant too - friendly, helpful, and somehow still smiling despite dealing with a room full of over‑excited adults pretending they’re not already full after the starter. Our room was lovely and comfortable, perfect for collapsing into after one too many “just small ones”. The bathroom was a bit on the chilly side, but nothing a quick dash and a brave heart couldn’t handle. Now, the plug sockets… that was a bit of a treasure hunt. Most of them seemed to be on the opposite side of the room to where you actually needed them, and the ones by the bed were already fully occupied by lamps and decorative bits. It felt like the room was beautifully designed by someone who has never tried to charge a phone at 1am while two sheets to the wind. Breakfast the next morning was on the slow side, but honestly, that suited us. After a Christmas party, slow service just feels like the universe saying, “Sit down, hydrate, and don’t make any sudden movements.” And when it arrived, it was absolutely worth the wait. All in all, another cracking stay. See you next year - at this point, it’s basically tradition.
We got married at Wentbridge in August, and we honestly couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we were struck not only by the beauty of the country house itself, with its charming character and stunning gardens, but also by the exceptional service delivered by every member of the team. The staff truly provide a 5-star experience. They were professional, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. Many of our guests even went out of their way to tell us how wonderful the staff were on the day. As a same-sex couple, one of the biggest reasons we chose Wentbridge was because we were treated with complete warmth and equality from the very start. We always felt valued, respected, and celebrated, never “different”, and that meant the world to us. The food was another major highlight. There were plenty of options and the team were so flexible in tailoring everything to what we wanted. We chose afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast, and it went down brilliantly with our guests, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. A real luxury touch! Wentbridge is a perfect all rounder wedding venue. With family travelling from all over, having plenty of rooms on-site was ideal, and the variety of spaces throughout the hotel created a natural, enjoyable flow to the day. We were able to make the most of both the indoor and outdoor areas, giving us the best of both worlds. A special thank you to Chloe, Ellie, and Karen, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their support made the whole experience feel seamless. Our wedding day was everything we hoped for and more, and Wentbridge House played a huge part in that. We’re so grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a truly exceptional place to celebrate their big day.
We work regularly at this very upmarket wedding venue, providing DJ services to our clients. It is a lovely space for us to come to & the event staff are brilliant. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue. It has great access off the A1 too, but as soon as you leave that major road, you are in a beautiful tranquil part of Yorkshire, with great service levels, food, etc.
Extremely overpriced. Paid for a deluxe garden view room and got a view of Aircon units. No robes or slippers as advertised. Room was booked for two people but there wasn't enough of all of the hot drinks for two people. The kettle also had to be put on the floor to be plugged in as the table was too tall for the plug to reach the socket. Breakfast room was only about a third full but the service was extremely slow. Nice bathroom and comfy bed.
Me and my partner stayed at Wentbridge for Valentine’s Day, the service was fabulous from start to finish. We had booked for the 6 course Valentine’s menu which was absolute perfection. The room was beautiful and breakfast was great. I couldn’t recommend Wentbridge enough. Thank you for having us.
Nice hotel in a lovely location. Room was very nice although the decor was a bit tired and the room was freezing most of the time. Food was very expensive for what it was and the service was very slow although they do warn you about this in the menu because in fairness the food is cooked to order. Staff were very friendly and helpful and will visit again
This was the perfect reception for our wedding. The staff, especially Chloe, have been extremely welcoming, obliging and incredibly organised on the run up to our special day. I would like to specially mention: -how fast Wentbridge are at responding to emails with accurate information and how they kept us updated on any issues that they thought we should be aware of. -the food was absolutely divine! Our guests were incredibly satisfied with the portion sizes and the sheer quality of the meals. Also, the venue made special arrangements for our Vegetarian and Vegan guests. -the bridal suite was set up perfectly and incredibly welcoming. The venue is stunning and the grounds were perfect for our wedding photos. Everything went perfectly and we could not be happier. Thank you Wentbridge for everything.
This was my first visit to Wentbridge House and I've got to say I was really impressed. There's something about this place that makes you feel at home, but it's really classy at the same time. The staff are warm and friendly, and very attentive. There's a feeling of real quality about the food, the building, the furnishings and the way it's all been designed. Well worth a visit! They also own the Blue Bell Inn, a few minutes' walk along the road. Nice (popular) gastropub with friendly service and good food.
Had the great pleasure of an evening on the terrace event with music. Absolutely fantastic, great vibe, met with a drink and nibbles . Lobster was fantastic ( and very reasonably priced). Great band, usual great service, fantastic atmosphere and great wine list. I just hope they do more of these events
