“We stayed at St. George's guesthouse for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room was nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. The host was very helpful and approachable, and there was plenty of on-site parking available. The guesthouse is a straight 30-minute walk to the city centre, so an ideal place for visitors to York who want a quiet place to stay. We will be sure to visit this guesthouse again.”

The reception staff were friendly and very helpful with directions around York and to the Barbican (where we were attending a concert). The hotel was very comfortable, clean and tidy. Our twin room was lovely. And it was only a short walk to the train station which we discovered on our way back (a shortcut shown to us by one of Hedley House team!). We would highly recommend this hotel.”

“We got married at Wentbridge in August, and we honestly couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we were struck not only by the beauty of the country house itself, with its charming character and stunning gardens, but also by the exceptional service delivered by every member of the team. The staff truly provide a 5-star experience. They were professional, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. Many of our guests even went out of their way to tell us how wonderful the staff were on the day. As a same-sex couple, one of the biggest reasons we chose Wentbridge was because we were treated with complete warmth and equality from the very start. We always felt valued, respected, and celebrated, never “different”, and that meant the world to us. The food was another major highlight. There were plenty of options and the team were so flexible in tailoring everything to what we wanted. We chose afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast, and it went down brilliantly with our guests, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. A real luxury touch! Wentbridge is a perfect all rounder wedding venue. With family travelling from all over, having plenty of rooms on-site was ideal, and the variety of spaces throughout the hotel created a natural, enjoyable flow to the day. A special thank you to Chloe, Ellie, and Karen, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. “I luxuriated in the Sparkle spa experience which included pool, sauna & steam room, massage and lunch. It was one of the most blissful experiences I've had in ages and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were so kind and made me feel thoroughly spoiled and the lunch was delicious, with complimentary bubbly. Special shout out to Ellie, the massage therapist, who was incredible - excellent, deep massage given with such a gentle and caring manner, I felt in the best possible hands. It was quite healing. “We had our small post wedding celebration here in The Courtyard. We stayed the night before and the evening of our wedding. The entire staff, from Event management as my first contact, to reception staff and the breakfast greeting was superb. However, a very special mention must go to Yontshi, who made sure we enjoyed our tasting menu the night before and took charge of our reception on the Saturday. “Spent 2 nights here and would recommend without hesitation. We booked a special offer which included two glasses of prosecco, a suite and breakfast. Our room was spacious, warm with a lovely view. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a lovely romantic two night break and will definitely be back!”

“Another great stay at The West Park. Great service, friendly staff and lovely food. The penthouse suite is a must if you fancy a romantic weekend away or just to live it up for a few days. Two en-suites, dressing room, very large bedroom and lovely living room area. The food was excellent as was the head of house team colleague Borus. I have stayed at The West Park on a few occasions now and various other hotels in Harrogate and I can honestly say this is by far the best hotel in Harrogate.”

“Came to the hotel for lunch. The steak and chips were superb. They catered for my friend who is a coeliac as my friend described. I had the mushroom soup and the pork scratchings with homemade apple sauce, both were perfect. The staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Although it was my first visit they made it feel like I was a regular with there warmth. If I lived local I would come here often.”

“Nice Decent Place for Food + a Great Variety of Drinks. Been going here for sometime now for drinks or dining and always enjoy our visit. Last two visits I've noticed that the service was not up to the level which it was before for example staff taking time your order or not getting around you regularly to check up if anything needed also even after paying the bill I noticed that table was not cleared for sometime. Don't know if it was because of the less staff or just in general. The venue wasn't busy either. One thing for sure was that food was once again top notch. I'd definitely keep going here and recommend others to try this gem of a place on street lane.”

Breakfast buffet had hot cooked, continental including smoked salmon and various cheeses, cereals, juices, and multiple different milk options. Rooms were spacious, clean, and had everything we needed.”

“Had a really lovely 2 day break here. Everything was fantastic and the treatments and staff in the spa were amazing. We were really impressed with the food and all the staff were amazing but especially Michael on dinner service could not do enough for us and he was lovely. The bar was great Jake and another blonde lady ( I’m not sure of her name but think she a bar manager ) made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond. Would defo recommend to anyone wanting a few days away and we can’t wait to go back.”

“Very convenient location in the wharf behind the train station if arriving by train - in fact from one side of the hotel you can see right into the tracks! I had a King room on canal side, extremely clean, quiet and a good bed. Shower has a small step and bathroom a normal door which has pros and cons. Could hear some corridor noise but not disturbing. Reception helpful. Solid breakfast, if not exceptional - good croissants and attentive service. Only caveat maybe on rooms on station side which perhaps could be noisier. Didn't have time to try Sky bar unfortunately. Overall, exceeded my expectations, would recommend.”

“We had our wedding here at the end of October 2024, it was absolutely amazing Marcus made the whole run up to the wedding seem effortless, he took care of everything and took all the stress from it. Marcus and his team made the whole day perfect we couldn't have asked for a better place to get married. The home cooked food was outstanding, we will be going back for a few meals.
