   We had our small post wedding celebration here in The Courtyard. We stayed the night before and the evening of our wedding. The entire staff, from Event management as my first contact, to reception staff and the breakfast greeting was superb. However, a very special mention must go to Yontshi, who made sure we enjoyed our tasting menu the night before and took charge of our reception on the Saturday. She made us feel like we were the most important people in her world. Thank you Mr & Mrs Miles Walker

   What a fabulous hotel! Rooms were to a high standard. We were on the ground floor in a separate building from reception. Very comfortable spacious beds. Tea/coffee facilities. Lovely prestine bathroom & power shower. Good quality towels. The staff were so friendly & informative, we could tell they were happy working there. Wonderful ambience, attention to detail and willingness to make our stay wonderful. Special shout out to Faye & Abbie, wonderful receptionists who were very professional, informative & friendly. We intend to return in 2026! A pleasant 15 min walk to the centre and lots to see & do. A beautiful historic City ❤️

   Absolutely fabulous. Clean, comfortable, with a distinct French feel. The food is to a very high standard and delicious. The bar well stocked, although only sells bottled beer. Every single member of staff were really friendly and attentive with a special mention to Ben who guided us through the menu in the Bistro. Be aware, though, the hotel is cashless.

   Lovely friendly staff (especially at breakfast). Excellent breakfast and very comfortable clean rooms. I don’t know if the York one is different from the Glasgow one but the rooms are not stocked as I expected. No soap bar, body lotion, drinks bar and snacks (to buy). This might be a new HdV policy? Still a lovely stay tho. Thankyou

   Parfait! We booked a 1 night stay based on the Hotel reviews alone. The Hotel was clean and had a very pleasant atmosphere. Staff were always available, polite and helpful but also discreet and respectful at all times. Food was of high quality as was the table service. We forgot to collect our phone charger on departure, and after a brief phone call the item was posted back to us straight away. Thank you for the impeccable service, we will return.

   A very warm welcome and a beautiful touch to find a rose petal decorated room for our anniversary. Food and service in the brasserie for dinner and breakfast was excellent too. We really enjoyed our stay with you as always.

   Staff were amazing, incredibly attentive and lovely, felt like you were being looked after and added to the fantastic experience of being at the hotel. Lovely lobby and bar areas to sit and waste some time with a drink and snacks. We stayed in a suite and had the restaurant package. The room was great and so was the food. All very rich and decadent, chips and French onion soup were so good. Great to have parking, even at a cost, as we were able to leave the car the next day as we walked into York which was 15 to 20 minutes. Great find, like a country hotel except in the centre of York! Highly recommend.

   I would run out of words to accurately describe how good this place is. The hotel is in a very convenient location and all parts of the city are only a short walk away. My girlfriend and I visited here as a special treat to celebrate our anniversary and it certainly was special. We stayed in the signature suite called Belle Epoque. The room is absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated. The bed is huge and really comfortable and the twin roll top baths really add to to how special and luxurious this room is. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I have to mention a special shout out and thank you to the General Manager, Matt. He went out of his way to ensure that everything was to our liking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I have every intention of making a return visit.
