“We stayed this evening for my partners birthday and was greeted by Mooni, she was super chatty and a friendly face. She was welcoming and a great asset to the team, thanks Mooni you made our stay!”
“We have been today the 8th of May. Absolutely fantastic service from Paul in the spa, we have been before so knew where everything was. Lovely time in the pool and jacuzzi and not overcrowded. We had a afternoon tea booked after and they brought the time forward for us as we requested with no problem at all. We were served promptly by Paul again who asked if we had enjoyed the spa, which we had. Gorgeous food and choice of sandwiches and cakes. Absolutely spot on. Well worth a visit.”
“Used the hotel as a venue for a Baby Shower. The setting is lovely next to Golden Acre Park. Room was perfect for our needs and very well set up with lovely table decorations, private entrance and the use of a private bar. We had an afternoon tea and there was more than enough food - all of which was lovely. Thanks to the events manager Joel and all the team on the day - anything we needed they were more than happy to help. At £11.95 PP for everything it was in my opinion great value.”
“A little basic, room was okay for a night but wouldn't want to do an extended stay. No tea or coffee in the room was a bit surprising, but maybe I missed that in my research. Clean, comfy, warm and friendly. Would stay again if it was just night or two. Breakfast was basic toast, cereal, croissant etc. Again nothing special but did the job”
“Arrived slightly early and the man behind the desk was really kind and let us place our bags behind the bar until check in. The rooms and hotel as a whole were really clean. The room was tidy when we got in and when we needed extra toilet paper and towels the cleaning staff were really helpful and prompt. It’s also significantly quieter than I excepted with it being so close to the train station (I live near a train line) and above the bar below.”
“The Hotel is good, full Dnglish Breakfast gor £7 snd was excellent snd the staff couldn't fo enough for you would Higjlt recommendb”
“JASPERS BAR 10/10 Live Rock/Metal venue!”
“I don’t understand how this hotel has such a low rating. I’ve stayed in hotels all over England for business travel and this is one of the best ones I’ve ever stayed in. It feels more like a four star and it cost £69 for a double! The rooms are spacious, with good desk space and a sofa. The bathrooms are clean and the shower is good. The lobby is huge with chesterfield style leather sofas everywhere. The bar/restaurant has a decent selection. The staff were friendly. I stayed here because my flight was cancelled, but if that happens again, this is where I’m staying.”
“Great stay, the staff were really amazing! I had a massive mix up with my booking and they were so helpful!! Thank you so much guys. Gave really good recommendations for things to do in the area as well. Made our trip really worthwhile!!!”
“Location of the hostel is good , walking distance to the city centre, 14 min walk to the Triniti shopping centre. Hostel is in quiet neighbourhood, 5 min away from supermarkets and Fast food , restaurants. What I like the most in this hostel is very polite receptionists , and peace and quiet . Even is hostel full , still people respect other people, no noise at all .Even we have a room next to the common area, there is no noise. Kitchen was clean, toilets as well. Breakfast is free, toast bread, lots of jam, honey, chocolate cream, cereals, tea coffee and milk. And they restock all the time.I recommended this hostel and I will back again.”
“Lovely budget hotel in a great location right next to Headingly stadium. The staff are excellent and the breakfast is spot on for 7 quid.”
“Brilliant place to stay, don't he put off by the location ( Industrial estate) Rooms are a little dated & would benefit from a spruce up, but other than I would highly recommend.”
“I stayed at this hotel for one night as a lone traveller and my dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms and hotels were cleaned to a high standard. The stay was made by meeting Dawn, she was so warm, friendly and welcoming and made me feel safe and looked after since I was on my own. She literally couldn't have done any more to help me and my dog out. Thank you so much for the giggles too.”
“After a smooth check in, I found my room to be very clean and spacious. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. My meals have been very good with plenty variety to choose from.(buffet style). Travelled here on a National Coaches Holiday and I wouldn't hesitate at staying here again.”
“A few weeks ago I decided to book Daisy Bank fully for myself and my friends for a retreat weekend. Angie and Andy were amazing from the beginning to end. Angie offered me a tour of the whole place so I could decide where each of my friends were going to sleep and where we would do our activities. All the cabins are so tastefully decorated with wallpaper and paintings from local artists. They all had slightly different colour schemes and there is something really interesting about each cabin. They had also thought about the really small touches, such as where to place plug sockets for chargers and leaving homemade brownies for when we checked in. They even left me a bottle of fizz and a card which was so thoughtful of them and very much appreciated. We were planning to have a yoga and meditation circle and Andy very kindly tidied the area up for us so it would be ready to use. We all had a wonderful weekend and it was the perfect place for a retreat. Two of us woke early each morning to go and have a coffee by the stream, watch the wildlife and enjoy the wildflowers. There has been so much thought and care put into the place and it was noticed by all in the group. Two of us have decided to book again for our own mini retreat as we can't stop talking about the peace we felt whilst there. If you're thinking about booking, you definitely won't regret it. We can't wait to return!”
“We stayed for one night with a four legged friend, en route to see friends. A lovely quiet site, fabulous showers, large pitch. Lisa was really helpful in suggesting great restaurants. We would stay again.”
“We cannot recommend this B&B enough. Simon's porridge and full English breakfasts were wonderful, with homemade bread readily available. Our room room was clean and beyond comfortable. To name a few amenities, there were heated towel racks, robes, and locally-made, excellent mattresses. Both host and hostess went above and beyond to help us navigate a few unexpected circumstances by connecting us with local resources. We will be returning if we can!!!”
“Absolutely loved our stay! The cottage was cozy, spotless, and surrounded by stunning scenery. Close to the city centre too! Perfect for a peaceful getaway. We’ll definitely be back!”
“Excellent place to stay for quiet and to be honest it's why we went. The carriage has everything needed for a comfy and pleasant stay and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Skipwith common was excellent for the dog. Loved the place and will return. It should go without saying but you will need a car if you intend on going to towns and villages. Can't speak highly enough of Skipwith Station, book it.”
“Really friendly and helpful owners. Greeted with cafetiere coffee and homemade biscuits on arrival, range of snacks in the room, which was super comfortable and clean. Fab!”
“Perfect stay. I stayed here on a business trip on my own. Excellent breakfast everyday at 7am. Room clean, smart and comfortable. Wifi good. Lovely old house with original features. Ewa the host very friendly and helpful.”
“We stayed at Ascot House for a few days last week. This is our 3rd visit to York, and our 3rd time staying here. As always it was a pleasure. June , the proprietor is so lovely, as are all the staff. The room was very spacious, comfortable bed , fabulous bathroom. It is in a great location, a short stroll into town. The breakfast is first class. Susanne & John.”
“Have been going here twice a year since before COVID, the leaflet really does not do it justice. Rod and Peggy cannot do enough for you. You only have to ask. I am a wheelchair user and there is plenty of room for me to move around. I also do craft stuff, so if my husband wants to do something I can stay in and he can go where he wants. I cannot recommend this place enough, nor the amenities, and York is not that far away, and the Designer Outlet is even closer. You will also fine the Park and Ride here and use this bus into York saves all the hassle of driving around Looking for car parking.”
“I have 1 property first time letting and Brian and Alison were so good and made it so easy and I now have 2 lovely people in. Took total of 6 weeks Thanking them very much.”
“Great friendly staff that went above and beyond to cater for my family for my nana wake. we appreciated it so much all the extra care and attention to detail They even did me a gluten-free and dairy free platter an soup, and dessert selection. I was fully included Thank you so much for your kindness would 100% recommend”
