   We stayed at Copper Cottage with my elderly father so that he could attend a family wedding in York and thanks to Peggy and Rod we were able to meet all dad’s care needs and enable him to fully enjoy this special occasion. Communication was excellent and our hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we required to ensure the stay went well. We were welcomed on arrival and enjoyed a delicious cake with a cup of tea after a very long 6 hour drive. Gills travel local taxi was able to provide transport to and from the wedding venue. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped to meet dad’s care needs, in a beautiful, quiet location with easy access to York and the delightful village of Riccall. I would have no reservations about booking another visit and highly recommend it.

   Amazing cottage with everything someone with a disability would need. Lovely hosts, Peggy and Rod who were on hand to deal with any issues or just to have a chat and advise on places to visit. The cottage was very clean, spacious and had all the equipment we needed.

   We are here at the moment and decided to right review with 3 days left as so impressed with accommodation, location and everyone is so helpful and nothing is to much trouble. We have used disabled accessible self catering round the UK for 20+ years and this has been the best for our needs by far. Love it here!

   Have been going here twice a year since before COVID, the leaflet really does not do it justice. Rod and Peggy cannot do enough for you. You only have to ask. I am a wheelchair user and there is plenty of room for me to move around. I also do craft stuff, so if my husband wants to do something I can stay in and he can go where he wants. I cannot recommend this place enough, nor the amenities, and York is not that far away, and the Designer Outlet is even closer. You will also fine the Park and Ride here and use this bus into York saves all the hassle of driving around Looking for car parking.

   Lovely peaceful setting. Cottage was clean, well- equipped, comfortable with all equipment suitable and helpful to disabled member of our party. Owner welcoming and we appreciated the welcome milk and cake. Easy to travel to many places of interest including Thirsk, Selby, Wetherby, Ripon, Bridlington.

   Wonderful accommodation and the owners are absolutely lovely. They have become friends for life. It's also a wonderful place to stay with dogs as there is plenty of land for your dog to run around in and Skipwith Common offers great walks and is only 5 minutes away by car. Highly recommend a stay at South Newlands Farm.

   I get the impression that the owner has very peculiar ideas about disability. She was very disrespectful. I tried to book a stay while my husband and I cannot live in our home due to building work. We have been shielding for over 10 months during the coronavirus pandemic and at the moment are unfortunately not able to go home. The properties seemed ideal as I have mobility problems and finding something accessible which accepts pets can be difficult. When I stated that I am 'clinically extremely vulnerable' and would want to socially distance, wear masks and continue shielding the owner said "I've worked with many disabled people and I think you're being over the top. Let's leave it there." The owner wouldn't take the booking. This reply left me feeling very confused and unsure as to why having worked with disabled people would mean that someone can dismiss another's wish to remain safe and refuse their business based on the fact that they are shielding. I will not be booking to stay here in the future and would not recommend it to anyone else. Very disappointed.
