“Cottage Lodge Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are so welcoming and go above and beyond to make your stay brilliant. I only stayed one night but wish I had been able to stay there longer. The room had lovely decor and was spotlessly clean. Also the location is perfect, really central and close to beautiful walks in the forest.”

A very luxurious countryside stay with top facilities and high quality, seasonal food and drink..Loved the cosy fires throughout the hotel and it was a nice touch that you could hire a DVD for the room..a blast from the past! “We had a lovely weekend away at this beautiful hotel with our extended family. Fiona could not do enough for us and offered us a different room when the cabin was a little tight for us with two small children. The children loved it so much so we stayed in the cabin and it was so cute, with clever storage and a real unique rustic experience. I imagine the best experience in one of the cabins would be in the summer as there was a semi private seating area to enjoy a tipple on a summers evening. There was a large shower and everything is done to a high finish. There was also some lovely gifts left for us on arrival. My Grandad's room in the hotel was lovely with a big bathroom including a stand alone bath which he loved. On our second night my Grandad had trouble with the TV and a member of staff went up to his room immediately to sort it out. The food in the restaurant was of high quality and very yummy. We will definitely be returning when we next come to the New Forest, would recommend for couples and families. Thank you Spot in the Woods!”

“We have just stayed here for two nights (2 adults and two children aged 1 & 4). The hotel is lovely. Nice big room with a small kitchen and also a cot for our little one. The breakfasts were delicious and the hotel was only 20-25 mins from Paultons Park which we spent two days at. It was ideal! Special shoutout to the manager, Justine, who went out of her way each day to make my little girls feel special. From sprinkles on the hot chocolate to a complimentary ice cream, she really went above and beyond and it was so appreciated!”

“We had Sunday lunch today at the Forest Park Hotel today. We were welcome by the receptionist with a warm smile and she confirmed our booking for lunch. We were taken to our table by Tyler and given the lunch time menu and what was on the specials for lunch. He asked what drinks would we like before we ordered our lunch which we ordered . We all ordered the Sunday roast which superb followed by dessert, which again was superb. The service by all of staff was world class, they obviously love working at this lovely location and Hotel and nothing was not to much trouble. I would like to thank the following staff at the New Forest Park Hotel for a fabulous afternoon and food. Restaurant manager Mandy, Tyler, Charlie and Elizabeth. We will be back again - Nick Percy”

“Genuinely dog-friendly, wonderful place to say. Spacious hotel with lots of character. Plenty of outdoor areas to potter about in. Our room exceeded our expectations - amazing bathroom! Staff are welcoming and attentive. The dog bed and hamper for our greyhound were both thoroughly enjoyed. We genuinely really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.”

“lovely hotel, beautifully decorated and has a cool ancient elevator. the location is excellent, near local shops and new forest trails. the service was very attentive and breakfast was tasty and quite varied. nice view of the church across the street, only you can still hear the bells in the morning.”

“Just checked out of Habour Hotel Southampton. Would highly recommend. Was sick with motion sickness on check in day and staff was kind and helped. Room very clean, modern and looks very new, making for a very comfortable stay while I recover. Had breakfast this morning at the hotel cafe and staff were all very polite and breakfast delicious and done to a high standard. All in all a most enjoyable stay prior to boarding our cruise ship.”

“1st class. Staff were great, good banter with the barman where nothing was too much trouble! Our room was superb, clean and had lovely personal touches. Breakfast was great along with the staff too. We were on a business trip but would love to go there again regardless of the 4hr journey!”

“The bed was rubbish. It was a very nice room very clean BUT the bed was old I sat on it and the springs was poking and when I got in it I slept for about two hours the floor carpet would of been better. The shower was ok downside it had a eco button do not press it! It was like boiling water coming out and I got burnt on my arm. Luck I have a beer belly lol”

“The food is always of good quality and quantity at the hotel. We have been eating here a few times and have never been disappointed so far. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. It's easy to find as it is on the main road. It can be busy at times as it is very popular. Highly recommended to eat a d drink”

“We stayed overnight for a New Forest getaway. The hotel was fully booked. Despite the pressure on the front of house and kitchen staff we had an excellent stay. We had a reservation in their restaurant in the evening and it was stunning food in quality, cooking style and service. Very good choice of wines too. We would stay and dine here again.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit and stay at the Ormonde House Hotel. We were there for 2 nights and opted for the breakfast-included option, which was perfect for us: a lovely, spacious and very clean room with an equally spacious bathroom + walk-in shower. In the room you have a detailed welcome book with the menus for the breakfast- which covers all tastebuds: full English, veggie, smaller plates and sweet option. They ask you to let them know your food choices the night before as well as the time of your breakfast, which helps to deliver a smoother service. The breakfast rooms are very nice and welcoming, with the veranda room being allocated for guests with dogs. That’s where we sat with our little Terrier and the facility and the staff in general were very welcoming, attentive and dog friendly. Besides the bar area there is also a lovely outdoor patio and garden where you can sit to read or enjoy a drink. The hotel is on a main road where traffic can be quite considerable at times, as it is literally at the entrance to the village centre of Lyndhurst. That said though, opposite the hotel you can enter a small woodland area and have already access to some spectacular views of moors covered in heather (now in August) , wonderful walks and plenty of free roaming horses. All of these features really worked for us and matched what we were looking for in our short stay in this beautiful region of the South West.”

“We had an amazing stay in Southampton, it was everything I expected and more after seeing the pictures online, these are a true reflection. I really felt like it was a 'home away from home'  as it is very well equipped for my family, we had a great time with clear views of the Marina. It's in a good location and walking distance for shops, dining, bars etc.  Chris and Neil were very responsive in communicating with me. I most definitely would recommend to anyone, you won't be disappointed.”

“My husband and I stayed just for one night a couple of weeks ago but would definitely stay again when visiting the New Forest. We mentioned we were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary and were treated to a bottle of wine delivered to our room. The staff were lovely, all very welcoming, Susan was the main lady who was so friendly . By the time we left, it felt like we'd known her for ages. The room was clean and bright . Also noticed it was a dog friendly place to stay. Well recommended.”

“Booked here prior to boarding ship and it's location is perfect. They offer cruise parking, at a price and a taxi to the port is not far. Our room was large and comfortable. Large window overlooking the street. Facilities in the room were great. Tea,coffee and use of hairdryer given by reception if needed. We had booked an evening meal and added on breakfast ( I had forgotten to add it at booking) The staff were friendly and allowed us to stay in the hotel until we needed to go to the port to embark. Great find. Little tricky at first to find the entrance as the sign is on the corner of a street that I went down. Drove round the block twice until I saw where to go.”

“Had a really nice stay the night before cruise. Rooms were spacious and beds were very comfy. Walk from here to ocean terminal takes about 15-20 minutes and the train station isn't too long of a walk either Would recommend to anyone for a hotel for the night before a cruise :)”

“Had a very comfortable two day stay at this small and centrally located hotel. Rooms are clean, beds comfy, and bathrooms well appointed. A good selection for breakfast with a semi buffet and a la carte dishes included. Lovely large courtyard at the back to sit outside during the summer months. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Elsa in particular at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful.”

“Kelly was so nice and lovely she greeted us as soon as we walked in. We stopped off to charge the car as we were coming from far and passing through and saw the coffee while you charge sign. The coffee, the tea room and the overall service was excellent. Kelly made sure we were comfortable. The butterfly shortbread biscuits they gave us on the house were epic! I will for sure come again if I am ever passing. Thank you Kelly.”

“We booked the Master Builders House for our wedding. We were mightily impressed with every aspect of our experience. This beautiful venue, steeped in history, provided a wonderful backdrop for a relaxed and supremely organised day. The wedding breakfast and canapés were of exceptional quality, those with dietary requirements were very well looked after. Food was delivered swiftly to the tables by capable and efficient staff. This is just one of numerous examples where the attention to detail elevated the experience. From transferring the bride to the ceremony room without being seen, to the unexpected gift in our bridal suite, all demonstrated the meticulous thought and planning by Lizzie and the team. The whole experience was a calm, smooth and professional operation.”
