“Cottage Lodge Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are so welcoming and go above and beyond to make your stay brilliant. I only stayed one night but wish I had been able to stay there longer. The room had lovely decor and was spotlessly clean. Also the location is perfect, really central and close to beautiful walks in the forest.”

“I could not decide whether to give four or five stars for each category but I think that if the weather had been better and the trains weren't on partial strike then I would have felt a bit brighter. The location is very close (5-10 minutes walk)to the central train station,bus stops and taxis. There are also 2 mini super stores (CoOp & Tesco)next to the train station. Another 10-15 minutes uphill and you are in the heart of the town. Breakfast is served first thing in the morning. I didn't stop for breakfast but I could smell the good flavours as they cooked. I thought that the room was excellent. I think that the bathroom was brand new and the bed was very comfortable.”

“We travelled from the North East on a recommendation of a relative to stay at this location as near to family, we were in Lodge 8 a 2 bedroomed lodge with a hot tub we originally booked to stay for 7days but were able to extend another 3 days as the location enabled us to spend time with family and visit various attractions. The Lodge was of a high standard a lovely welcome tray plus toiletries, towels and bedding were of a high quality a lovely interior with plenty of room the hot tub was checked every morning by a member of staff. My husband enjoyed the putting green.”

“We had a lovely weekend away at this beautiful hotel with our extended family. Fiona could not do enough for us and offered us a different room when the cabin was a little tight for us with two small children. The children loved it so much so we stayed in the cabin and it was so cute, with clever storage and a real unique rustic experience. I imagine the best experience in one of the cabins would be in the summer as there was a semi private seating area to enjoy a tipple on a summers evening. There was a large shower and everything is done to a high finish. There was also some lovely gifts left for us on arrival. My Grandad's room in the hotel was lovely with a big bathroom including a stand alone bath which he loved. On our second night my Grandad had trouble with the TV and a member of staff went up to his room immediately to sort it out. The food in the restaurant was of high quality and very yummy. We will definitely be returning when we next come to the New Forest, would recommend for couples and families. Thank you Spot in the Woods!”

“We have just stayed here for two nights (2 adults and two children aged 1 & 4). The hotel is lovely. Nice big room with a small kitchen and also a cot for our little one. The breakfasts were delicious and the hotel was only 20-25 mins from Paultons Park which we spent two days at. It was ideal! Special shoutout to the manager, Justine, who went out of her way each day to make my little girls feel special. From sprinkles on the hot chocolate to a complimentary ice cream, she really went above and beyond and it was so appreciated!”

“Lovely little campsite, with great facilities. Shower were strong and hot. Its by a small railway, which runs regular steam rally. We thought it would be a bit noisy, but it was a fantastic addition to the camping experience. We also had our 1 year old baby and she wasn't bothered by the trains at all. Surrounded by beautiful countryside.”

“We stayed for one night prior to our cruise and we will definitely return. We have stayed in a few Southampton hotels but this is definitely our new place to stay. Beautifully decorated rooms with all the amenities you could need for your stay. Lovely selection of tea and coffee and separate coffee machine in the room. There are a lot of stairs but if you have a high floor this is not a problem with staff to assist you with your suitcases. We had a wonderful dinner from the evening menu with delicious wine. The breakfast was amazing in the morning, you will be stuffed and set for the day. All the staff we encountered were great. Stay here you will you will love it. My husband said it was the most comfortable bed he's ever slept in.”

“Just checked out of Habour Hotel Southampton. Would highly recommend. Was sick with motion sickness on check in day and staff was kind and helped. Room very clean, modern and looks very new, making for a very comfortable stay while I recover. Had breakfast this morning at the hotel cafe and staff were all very polite and breakfast delicious and done to a high standard. All in all a most enjoyable stay prior to boarding our cruise ship.”

“Could not recommend this guesthouse more. Kayleigh was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had lots of added little touches ie; toiletries, tea and coffee, tv and pull cord bedside light. Really wouldn’t hesitate to book to stay here again. Also breakfast was amazing! Freshly cooked and great choice of continental or cooked options. Parking was great too.”

“this is a great value hotel.The rooms are big with comfortable beds.They have large bathrooms and fluffy towels.There is a nice pub ( the poacher) a five minute walk away and a Indian restaurant opposite.Its in suite location offering a good night sleep.The host Angela and her team are really friendly and professional and happy to assist to ensure u enjoy yr stay.I have stayed here at least twice every year for five years .Tip: if you take the lane to the right of the hotel you will find lots of free roaming donkeys and pigs and great cycle tracks.Note: the new forest is big so u can drive five minutes or forty depending what sights u want to see.( ignore the couple of not so nice reviews as they just wanted to get a free trip and refund). I’ve stayed at lots of places in the new forest and u won’t get better value than this”

“We had an amazing stay in Southampton, it was everything I expected and more after seeing the pictures online, these are a true reflection. I really felt like it was a 'home away from home'  as it is very well equipped for my family, we had a great time with clear views of the Marina. It's in a good location and walking distance for shops, dining, bars etc.  Chris and Neil were very responsive in communicating with me. I most definitely would recommend to anyone, you won't be disappointed.”

“Stayed here with family before our cruise. We were able to park and leave our car here for 7 days. Pryia in reception was so helpful, spoke to her a few days before arriving on the phone with a few questions I had. I then met her on check in and she made check in so easy and is a credit to hotel, the staff in the restaurant were also great, the 2 guys and young lady who were working on Saturday 25th Evening were friendly and very attentive. Simmi on sunday morning was lovely, very nice chat with her when ordering drinks . Staff here at all amazing but couldn't name everyone. Rooms were lovely except for too hot and couldn't override the system to change to cooling. Will definitely stay here again when we cruise in the future along with parking.”

“Had a really nice stay the night before cruise. Rooms were spacious and beds were very comfy. Walk from here to ocean terminal takes about 15-20 minutes and the train station isn't too long of a walk either Would recommend to anyone for a hotel for the night before a cruise :)”

“If you need a handy stop over, then this is the place. Tucked away in a pretty, quiet corner, and yet just a short way off the M27 and airport. Plenty of parking. They even do longer term parking for cruises, holidays etc. The rooms are a little bit dated, but spotlessly clean. Good VFM.”

“Good place to stay. Right in the city but on the edge of Watts Park. Very quiet in the room. Air con was an added bonus. We didn't use the in-house restaurant as there was so much choice just a few minutes walk away. There is no car park on site but we came by train a five minute walk from the Premier Inn.”

“Kelly was so nice and lovely she greeted us as soon as we walked in. We stopped off to charge the car as we were coming from far and passing through and saw the coffee while you charge sign. The coffee, the tea room and the overall service was excellent. Kelly made sure we were comfortable. The butterfly shortbread biscuits they gave us on the house were epic! “We have just spent 7+ weeks at this hotel after a devastating fire at our home, we moved out today into our temporary home, but we wanted to leave a review. The staff here were amazing, friendly and very obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding. Breakfast was good lots of variety of cereal, toasts and cooked. If ever we are in need of a hotel again Holiday Inn would be our first choice. Sad to leave but neeed a little normality now. Thank you to all the staff that made us feel welcome.”
