“Cottage Lodge Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are so welcoming and go above and beyond to make your stay brilliant. I only stayed one night but wish I had been able to stay there longer. The room had lovely decor and was spotlessly clean. Also the location is perfect, really central and close to beautiful walks in the forest.”
“We had a lovely weekend away at this beautiful hotel with our extended family. Fiona could not do enough for us and offered us a different room when the cabin was a little tight for us with two small children. The children loved it so much so we stayed in the cabin and it was so cute, with clever storage and a real unique rustic experience. I imagine the best experience in one of the cabins would be in the summer as there was a semi private seating area to enjoy a tipple on a summers evening. There was a large shower and everything is done to a high finish. There was also some lovely gifts left for us on arrival. My Grandad's room in the hotel was lovely with a big bathroom including a stand alone bath which he loved. On our second night my Grandad had trouble with the TV and a member of staff went up to his room immediately to sort it out. The food in the restaurant was of high quality and very yummy. We will definitely be returning when we next come to the New Forest, would recommend for couples and families. Thank you Spot in the Woods!”
“We have just stayed here for two nights (2 adults and two children aged 1 & 4). The hotel is lovely. Nice big room with a small kitchen and also a cot for our little one. The breakfasts were delicious and the hotel was only 20-25 mins from Paultons Park which we spent two days at. It was ideal! Special shoutout to the manager, Justine, who went out of her way each day to make my little girls feel special. From sprinkles on the hot chocolate to a complimentary ice cream, she really went above and beyond and it was so appreciated!”
“We stayed for one night prior to our cruise and we will definitely return. We have stayed in a few Southampton hotels but this is definitely our new place to stay. Beautifully decorated rooms with all the amenities you could need for your stay. Lovely selection of tea and coffee and separate coffee machine in the room. There are a lot of stairs but if you have a high floor this is not a problem with staff to assist you with your suitcases. We had a wonderful dinner from the evening menu with delicious wine. The breakfast was amazing in the morning, you will be stuffed and set for the day. All the staff we encountered were great. Stay here you will you will love it. My husband said it was the most comfortable bed he's ever slept in.”
“Fantastic food and great service. Had an early dinner before a gig...great choice of creative dishes...both veggie and non veggie. Food was all superb and quick and friendly service. Central location. Will definitely be back.”
“Just checked out of Habour Hotel Southampton. Would highly recommend. Was sick with motion sickness on check in day and staff was kind and helped. Room very clean, modern and looks very new, making for a very comfortable stay while I recover. Had breakfast this morning at the hotel cafe and staff were all very polite and breakfast delicious and done to a high standard. All in all a most enjoyable stay prior to boarding our cruise ship.”
“Stayed here with family before our cruise. We were able to park and leave our car here for 7 days. Pryia in reception was so helpful, spoke to her a few days before arriving on the phone with a few questions I had. I then met her on check in and she made check in so easy and is a credit to hotel, the staff in the restaurant were also great, the 2 guys and young lady who were working on Saturday 25th Evening were friendly and very attentive. Simmi on sunday morning was lovely, very nice chat with her when ordering drinks . Staff here at all amazing but couldn't name everyone. Rooms were lovely except for too hot and couldn't override the system to change to cooling. Will definitely stay here again when we cruise in the future along with parking.”
“Had a really nice stay the night before cruise. Rooms were spacious and beds were very comfy. Walk from here to ocean terminal takes about 15-20 minutes and the train station isn't too long of a walk either Would recommend to anyone for a hotel for the night before a cruise :)”
“Good place to stay. Right in the city but on the edge of Watts Park. Very quiet in the room. Air con was an added bonus. We didn't use the in-house restaurant as there was so much choice just a few minutes walk away. There is no car park on site but we came by train a five minute walk from the Premier Inn.”
“The room was very nice, modern clean, well appointed and, most importantly, quiet! Restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful and good is good and reasonably priced, especially breakfast. The hotel is very well placed, especially for the boat show.”
“The rooms are really clean and trendy. The beds are extremely comfortable and showers are great. Great value for a few nights stay. The facilities are great with amazing gym and Starbucks in the foyer. Bar and grill food has a good selection. Everything you need for an overnight stay.”
“We came down from Scotland and stayed in one of the Superior Rooms. Full air con, very roomy as it is an accessible room. Had plenty of room to manoeuvre my power chair. Staff are very friendly and remember you from previous visits. We had meal deals so enjoyed dinner and breakfast. Everything was excellent. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting family and friends or going on a cruise.”
“We have just spent 7+ weeks at this hotel after a devastating fire at our home, we moved out today into our temporary home, but we wanted to leave a review. The staff here were amazing, friendly and very obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding. Breakfast was good lots of variety of cereal, toasts and cooked. If ever we are in need of a hotel again Holiday Inn would be our first choice. Sad to leave but neeed a little normality now. Thank you to all the staff that made us feel welcome.”
“Good standard of hotel. Efficient and friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Room very comfortable and clean. Quiet. Food was really nice. Service very good. About 15 mins from Southampton Central Rail station. Would certainly stay again if in Southampton.”
“Outstanding service at the restaurant and bar! Joseph and Dominic were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond in every way. We’ve been loyal Holiday Inn customers for years, and we can honestly say we’ve never experienced such an incredible level of service. Truly exceptional — thank you!”
“A one night stay but very happy. Had one issue with air conditioner leaking but spoke to Duncan at reception and he fixed the issue immediately and with the slight inconvenience was very kind to offer a breakfast. Exceptional service and kind and helpful without any fuss! Thank you.”
“Location suited my needs. Building showing its age. But room clean and tidy. Sleep disturbed by nearby railway traffic.”
“Our room was very nice and cleaned to a high standard. Bed comfy, exceptionally clean bathroom. Staff; Gareth went above & beyond in helpfulness, nothing was too much trouble, esp helping with my wifi problem. Jackie on reception was friendly & professional. It is so nice to meet staff willing to help and appearing to enjoy their work. Thank you. We highly recommend this Premier Inn.”
“I recently stayed at the Premier Inn Southampton Airport because my flight was cancelled. While I was disappointed about the cancellation, my overall experience at the hotel was exceptional. The hotel was clean comfortable and welcoming and the standout factor was the outstanding service from the staff. Every member I interacted with was incredibly helpful attentive and provided excellent customer service.”
“I stayed at this hotel for a weekend and it was a lovely stay, all of the staff were lovely and welcoming. Catherine that booked us in who is on the main desk Was ever so helpful and friendly and if I had any enquiries she was happy to help. The location of the hotel is perfect, easy to get to shops, restaurants and taxis ect. I would definitely stay here again.”
“Nicole at the front desk was lovely. Thank you for the great service Nicole and all the front desk ladies. Rooms are clean and have all the essentials. My bathroom in room 523 had several cracked tiles in the bathroom, but it didn’t affect my stay. Shower was nice and hot; excellent water pressure. Room had no odor and was genuinely clean. Nice welcome letter from the manager. There’s a restaurant and bar inside in the lobby. No in room refrigerators. I’d stay here again.”
“Booked into this hotel for one night because it was so convenient to the cruise ship I was boarding the following morning. Hotel has a large car park and was so easy to find. Breakfast was great lovely selection Rooms immaculate and so comfortable and evening meal was also good with an extensive menu.”
“UNBELIEVABLE service at this, “supposedly budget” hotel. I booked 8 rooms for 1 night for 15 guests, before we departed on a cruise. EMMA, who I believe is the manager, I really hope I have her name correct, was incredible. She rang me 2 days before our stay to confirm my booking. I informed her we were attending a wedding on QM2, also it was the grooms birthday the night we stayed, and if possible could she acknowledge both occasions…. WOW WOW WOW did Emma acknowledge both celebrations going above and beyond expectations. Starting with the room the bridal couple stayed in, it was amazing, decorated with banners & balloons & various treats including 2 bottles of Frexinet and champagne flutes, also a happy birthday banner above the bed. Emma also put all guests on the same floor, put us in a private area for dinner, in which she also decorated our table, then brought out a birthday cake for Gerry and same again the private area for breakfast. Now then, PREMIER INN SOUTHAMPTON CENTRAL, please please commend Emma and take care of this wonderful employee as she is a fantastic asset to your company. She told us she was moving to your Portsmouth hotel as it was nearer to her home, all I can say is anyone that visits that hotel is in for a treat. Oh and by the way, the room’s were all great with fantastic pillows, and the meal deal, dinner and breakfast was unbelievable value for money.”
“Good experience, very quiet, comfy beds and room service is good as well, breakfast is tasty, 2 notes: one is about the baby high chair it is suitable for 1 year old because it is missing the middle bit between the thighs to keep the baby in the seat, two is about the bathroom drain or the walking shower drain is blocked, however I didn’t talk about it with the room service because I was staying for short period. Anything else is good for the price and location. They have car park . Good location not far from the town and the shopping center and IKEA. Check out at 12 which is really good!! Have plenty of time to pack or going to town and back.”
“My recent stay here was nothing short of perfect. While the room was comfortable and the facilities were excellent, what truly stood out was the exceptional level of service, particularly from a staff member Celia. She went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. She was always friendly, proactive, and had a wonderful attention to detail. Whether it was offering recommendations or simply checking in with a warm smile, her service was impeccable. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. I look forward to returning!”
“Stayed at the Ibis Southampton and had really pleasant experience. The room was tidy, cozy, and had everything I needed. The Staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful, and always cheerful. Thank you to the whole team for making my stay so enjoyable.”
“Decent enough for a stopover. Room was clean, bed was comfy, and it was surprisingly quiet considering it's on the motorway services. Staff were polite, and check-in was easy. It's not luxury, but if you just need somewhere to rest your head for the night, it does the job. Bit tired in places and could do with a freshen-up, but nothing major. Would stay again if passing through.”
“We only booked this room as we had travelled for a gig at the local venue The Engine Room. On arrival we were made to feel most welcome by the man on the reception called Simon. He was friendly to both parties who had booked rooms. We felt that this hotel was in an excellent location . Convenient for our venue minutes walk away.walking distance to the port ,shops and ikea. We hadn't booked breakfast and were happy to use the macdonalds next door. When we returned back from the gig we decided to have a drink at the adjacent Ibis, at Simon's suggestion . We were also welcomed there. For the price we paid this was excellent value and the parking is included so no need to pay in advance. Thanks for a great stay.”
