“I stayed here for several weeks and it was a very pleasant experience! I would recommend to anyone staying in Portsmouth. The apartment was clean and in a great location. I will be sure to book here again when I am next in town :)”
“A lovely B&B not far from the beach. Clean rooms, posh bathrooms and a useful carpark. Charlie, the owner, is super friendly and helpful. Also be sure to try her award-winning full English breakfast. An award well deserved: hands down the best breakfast we had in all of Cornwall and England.”
“The place has good reason to have such a high rating for cleanness. It was immaculate. We had a big room overlooking the garden so it was quiet. A well cooked beakfast was served at 8.30 with the other guests, and the conversation at the table was warm, relaxed and inspiring. Linda, the host, was a warm hearted, utterly incredible woman. It's tempting to go back to Hayling Island just to see her again.”
“Overall an excellent place to have as one's hold out while they explore the isle. There were walks around that we didn't get to explore much but did manage to get to the beach once which was equally lovely. The lodge was very clean and well looked after. The white goods were top notch. Washing machine had mould in it and the staff were attentive and did try to clean it. Will recommend replacing the rubber on it but that ain't a biggie. The cafe only serves drinks. Will strongly recommend the milk shakes, they were just yum.”
“Just popped down to the Red Lion on Cosham to have a pint and snack whist the family are at the cinema. Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, food and drink. Would recommend it to anyone. Served by Amanda, Miles and Emma who were all very helpful and gave a service with a smile.”
“I've visited this hotel several times before and have never been dissapointed with the prompt check in (and out) although our room was unusually small this time. Breakfast was legendary as it always is here. Although we didnt eat here in the night the food being served looked delicious and I saw plenty of empty plates being taken back. Bar prices were surprisingly competitive with local bars. The parking token was also helpful saving me £8 on a 2 night stay.”
“I highly recommend this Premier Inn, the rooms are clean with great facilities, it's central to everything and the staff are amazing, especially the manager Kelly. Sadly on the 3rd day of our stay the fire alarm was activated due to a fire in the Costa below, I cannot fault any of the staff they kept us updated and as soon as they knew we couldn't go back in they arranged alternative accomodation at the nearby Premier Inn's. Their care and dedication was 2nd to none and I'm extremely grateful for their care of my daughter and myself who both suffer from anxiety. They updated guests the next day and most of us were able to pack our own things to move over to the new accommodations. Excellent stay cut short through no fault of the hotel.”
“Stayed here the day before a cruise ship holiday going from Southampton, red lion nice meal, it's a table table restaurant similar food to most, Sara at reception found us a iron and decaf tea as they dont seem to stock. Breakfast was good. Would stay again.”
“I often visit the Queens Hotel to have a coffee (or something stronger). It is such a beautiful venue & the staff are lovely. We recently had afternoon tea there & it was truly fabulous. Myself & my friend both needed the food to be gluten free and as such we were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. There was more than plenty so we had a take home box each too. The team were friendly and helpful both on the day & when we phoned to discuss gluten free options. A great experience that I would recommend to anyone.”
“Me and my partner just wanted to escape for a day over Easter, by the seaside which was minutes away rooms were comfortable and clean slept like a baby had a roast which filled the spot and breakfast which was equally good. Staff were friendly and overall a very good atmosphere, all in all would very much come back again!”
“I led a wedding ceremony here and the staff were lovely. Its modern and big and run very well its a good set up and I had a great time. Oli the operations manager was lovely and knows his stuff and was very helpful. The wedding ceremony went so well I would definitely work with them again in the future.”
“I used this brilliant Premier Inn after arriving at Portsmouth on a ferry from Spain. Very close to the terminal and a nice and convenient place to stay before driving home the next day. Staff very helpful and friendly. An excellent night's stay. Going to use again in October.”
“Great services and smiles from walking in the door, the rooms are clean and spacious, could do with a few more shelves. Their breakfast, was ample in offerings and quantity. Lead by a very capable Erin on the front desk and backed up by the amazing Lisa in the dining room. There is lots to cheer about as guests are well greeted, making them feel welcome and wishing them a wonderful day ahead.”
“This place has a really friendly and welcoming feel from the moment you arrive. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, making it easy to relax and feel at home. It’s especially nice if you’re looking for somewhere calm, as the hotel is quiet and peaceful, allowing you to rest without any unnecessary noise or distractions. The rooms and common areas feel well cared for, adding to the overall sense of comfort. Another great point is the pricing. The rates are very reasonable, especially considering the comfort and quiet environment you get in return. It feels like good value for money, which makes the stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. Overall, it’s a cozy, quiet hotel with friendly vibes and good prices—an easy place to recommend for a comfortable and relaxing stay.”
“The Lodge offers a great hotel with a spa and a two restaurants, each offering great food and outstanding service. I'd like to mention Holly. She was our waitress each morning and always greeted us with a smile and coffee.”
“From the moment we arrived to when we checked out, nothing was any trouble for the staff, particularly Vicky. She was polite, courteous, helpful and accommodating from check-in to check-out. She worked tirelessly at the check-in desk, then straight onto the on-site restaurant fir the evening meals where she suddenly became the waitress, serving all customers with a smile and respect. Then again, serving breakfast. Without doubt, Vicky is the archetype of an excellent advertisement for the staff at the Premier Inn (Havant) Portsmouth. We will most definitely book to stay here again in the near future. A fabulous experience and excellent value for money, during these troubled and uncertain times.”
“We stayed here 2 nights and everything was amazing. The area was nice and quite with loads of small shops and restaurants near by. The beach was within 10 minutes walk. Accomodation it self was very well equiped and extremely clean. The breakfast was a nice touch and it was delicious. The only "negative" thing I can think of is that there wasn't a hairdryer in the room. However, I'm sure if you let the staff know you will need a hairdryer in advance, then they will sort it out. The staff was very friendly and overall I can only recommend others as well, to stay at waverley park lodge.”
“We were greated by the wonderful Josh, who very kindly offered to check our room was ready before we went up, which I found very thoughtful. We had a family room and it was massive, the biggest room we've ever stayed in!!! Maybe because it was close to the lift and due to the design of the hotel, but we were very happy with it. Brilliant location, literally next door to train station and never heard any trains even though we could see them on the track outside the window. Also there is a shopping centre within 5/10 mins walk away and buses outside the hotel to take you around Portsmouth. The air con was very good. But the only thing with Premier Inns I notice is that they don't offer a late check out which would make it so much better for us, as they do an early check in so a late check out could be offered I feel. Also their hotels tend to have windows that do not open, so no fresh air can circulate. That's the only things that puts me off booking here more frequently. Also loved the fact that we could leave our suitcases when we checked out to pick up later and the staff were very accommodating about that. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely book here again.”
“Stayed here Saturday night. Great stay and would highly recommend. Very clean and comfortable family room. Staff were great nothing was a problem. Young guys behind the bar were a laugh. Would stay again if down in portsmouth for the weekend.”
“Pam and Jules were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them, so helpful and kind. The cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious, plus the choice of pastries, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, just so much on offer, it was lovely. Thank you both for making us so welcome in your house.”
“Excellent hotel situated in the heart of Gunwarf quays. Very handy for the many attractions of Portsmouth. I have stayed here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The only thing is they do seem to have a regular problem with the aircon. A minor niggle as they have an abundance of fans for the rooms.”
“Great place will be staying again soon”
“A little gem of a cottage. Everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We will return. Chris & Bob and Karen & Bobby.”
“We had a lovely short stay, the room was exceptionally clean and really helped us recharge. We booked directly through the website and had no issues. The hosts were very welcoming and we both felt so inspired by everything they’ve achieved with the house, it’s a work of art! :) We’ll definitely be back!”
“I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms felt very new, clean, and efficient, and I especially appreciated how easy the air conditioning was to use. The staff were absolutely lovely, they even helped by heating up my food for me. The lady who checked me in was amazing, though I didn’t catch her name. Overall, a wonderful experience.”
“Staff very pleasant on check in and the whole reception area was very welcoming as it was decorated for Christmas. The room is modern, albeit small, as you'd have a few problems using the toilet or shower if you was bigger than average as it's quite tight. Apart from that, it was great, everything you needed.”
“This hotel is excellent for a Travelodge, in terms of comfort, cleanliness and lack of noise. Location wise, it is handy for visiting tourist destinations in the city and is located close to Portsmouth and Southsea Station. Car Parking is limited. Only very early arrivals will obtain a place. Car parking is not free but is cheap compared to rival car parks. Breakfast is fine, though the hostess was not very attentive to cleaning of previously occupied tables or replenishment of cutlery. Overall: Recommended.”
“Left the Ferry terminal about 10.30pm, the hotel was very close and I had pre-checked in so it was really simple when I arrived. Unloaded what I needed from the car, including my cat, and moved my car to the car park. Room facilities were really good, bed was great, slept really well. I enjoyed the breakfast and took a coffee with me on my journey. So happy I had booked in for my return home journey, it had been a long day and a good nights sleep is what I needed.”
“Really friendly welcome when we arrived after the late ferry from France. Short walk from Ferry Terminal via a clean and tidy subway. Spacious rooms, really comfy beds, bath, my son had a wheelchair accessible room, but our room was really big too. Quiet. Bus stop outside for city and rail stations. Reception round back and it needs better signage for pedestrians so you don't walk long way through car park.”
“Good night sleep, nice & quiet room was nice and dark at night time. Friendly staff. Toby carvery next door. Thanks Jo. Would recommend”
