“Brilliant place Portsmouth Players”
“really fun and nice location big curved screen and plenty of seating prices are affordable would love to watch more films here again”
“We love this place! Tonight was our second visit and we watched The Penguin Lessons. Last time it was the new David Attenborough documentary Ocean, which was also amazing. We're both vegan so we really appreciate the plant-based snacks. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. We'll be back soon! :) x”
“Amazing service from the team. Product knowledge was excellent they helped me with my re introduction back to Vinyl. The set up I bought was superb and I will definitely be going back for more advise. Thank you.”
“Very nice cinema with one screen. Friendly staff happy to help you. Comfortable seats. Love indie places such as this and had a pleasant time watching interstellar for it's 10th anniversary!”
“Went to see Fantastic 4 and had a wonderful experience at this cinema. Even with the building undergoing some renovation work it was amazing to see such and old building still in use and I cannot wait to see it again once the works are finished. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the cinema itself was very clean. Very comfortable seats with good leg room. All in all a truly amazing experience. We also loved seeing some of the history of the building on display and I would 100% recommend going to see a film here.”
“What a spectacular party! We hired the whole cinema for a private viewing in celebration of a significant birthday. The Living Room Cinema delivered. They looked after planning and preparation, all catering, decoration, red carpet and ropes, and showed our chosen movie for our 60 guests. They even managed our own spoof adverts with family videos incorporated. The bar and catering staff were perfect, a separate children's area inspired and everyone had a ball. We even had all the posters personalised with our own pictures superimposed on characters. Spectacular attention to detail. If you ever fancy a different party on a different level and a fresh approach, this is definitely a good choice. Huge thanks to Claire, Radley, Asa, Will and the team.”
“Visited hete last night fir rocky horror and my birthday what an incredable experience staff were lovely so were other guests highly recommended”
“This is our local cinema. The staff are extremely attentive. Tickets & snacks are always reasonably well priced. Customer service is always excellent & the cinema's are always absolutely spotless. Staff are attentive & helpful at all times.”
“Commodore is such a great little vintage cinema here in Ryde. I love the 3 retro style screen theatres, the lobby area, etc. Toilets could've been a bit more maintained I must say. Anyways apart from that, I very previously watched Paddington in Peru here in Screen 2, and the price was so so reasonable! £8 for me and my mum watching together, with an extra £5 for the treats we bought upon buying tickets. Comparing this to Cineworld's prices, this is by far, SO MUCH CHEAPER than Cineworld; they cost roughly £25-40! Absurd for them. If you're looking for a nice place to watch a sequel to your favourite film, or anything else, Commodore is your place to be. It's just perfect. 5/5 rating for me!”
“The new seats are brilliant! Reclining seats for about £10. Far more comfortable especially on the long films. The toilets still need work but it's one of the best cinemas around. We drive there rather than use our local as its a lot cheaper, sound quality is better and where else can you watch a film and then check out super yachts?”
“First visit with my Wife for a long time, to see 50th anniversary presentation of Jaws.First saw this film when I was 14. The staff member at the food service was helpful to an old duffer (me) who was unsure of the menu. I really enjoyed the experience, I'd like to see Star Wars on the big screen again. A simple pleasure. M.A.R.”
“Went while we was on hoilday to watch Sonic 3. Cinema was tidy and clean as was the toilets. Lots of booster seats avaliable for younger children. Lots of staff around to help if needed”
“Pretty Quiet place, welcoming staff. Manager was able to move our seats at no extra cost. Not too pricey either. Had such a great experience.”
“Neville was incredibly helpful providing AV for a small gathering. Definitely recommend.”
“My daughter has been attending for 2 years. Starting with the mini's and progressing into juniors (nearly 7 yr old). My tip, throw any preconceptions of a school play out of the window - this is so not that. The quality / professionalism of the end product 'the show' is top notch on par what you expect from an adult set of performers. My daughter loves the class each week, with education cutting back on 'arts & crafts' this is a fantastic platform for children.”
“This is the best hidden gem in the county; like turning the clock back; I was chuffed to pieces.”
“Fabulous community cinema shows great films including block busters, independents and some foreign language. Wide screen, laser projector and Dolby surround sound are really professional. Great choices on bar, home made cakes and ice creams all at low prices.”
“Absolutely loved this evening, beautiful set up, wonderful friendly staff and food was so yummy . Highly recommend an evening like this - you will love it.”
“Provides nice ambient sound and visual to the square”
“We saw the production of Matilda as members of the public with no connection to the school and were bowled over by the talent and quality of the performance but also by how much the children were genuinely enjoying themselves and how Sam is clearly instilling pride in who they are and what they can do as part of his teaching. It was really clear that all children are celebrated and given an opportunity to take part whoever they are. Sam is clearly a talented performer but took nothing away from the children by being part of the show and the limelight was still firmly shining on them - I’m not sure all teachers would have done the same! His humility and care for the children was clear to see. The whole production was fantastic!”
“Absolutely amazing theatre group, my daughter loves it and her confidence has grown so much since joining. She has also performed in 2 shows now, and such a great experiance that is for everyone. I also love the extra activities they organise - day out trips, sleep overs, parties. Everyone is just amazing, highly recommend ❤️”
“A great family get together and a lot of chance to discuss murder theories! Lovely night out and as a participating audience we were made to feel very welcome throughout. Thoroughly recommended night, immersing yourself in 19th century East End culture!”
“Great performing arts company that works together and strives for an excellent performance on every show.”
“A diverse range of shows on offer here, which I would think will appeal to a wide range of people. Tidy modern interiors and a good view of the stage (even from the relatively cheap seats) give a more intimate feel to the performances than you might otherwise expect. Plentiful parking in the adjacent Northgate Car Park.”
“A very intimate experience, certainly if you are sitting in the front row, which for our show had just 2 seats in each section. The theatre mimics the hexagon shape of its bigger sibling but on a much smaller scale.”
“Saw the Christmas Organ Concert last night. Wonderful atmosphere and so much talent on stage. Kickstarted our Christmas - thank you TFT.”
“Great small theatre, full of atmosphere. Intimate, good view of the stage Comfortable seating. Small bar for pre-show & interval drinks. No car park. Parking is on local roads (can be very crowded).”
“Fantastic theater! We saw a production of The Unfriend and were super impressed by the cast, the comfy cleats and especially the ice-cream sold at the interval! Also glad we booked tickets in advance as it was a Tuesday and a sold out show. The rest of the season also looks superb, whoever is curating their shows, my hats off to them as it’s definitely more exciting and stuff I’d like to come and see if was a local (better than the stuff my brothers local theater in the midlands shows!)”
