Overall an excellent place to have as one's hold out while they explore the isle. There were walks around that we didn't get to explore much but did manage to get to the beach once which was equally lovely. The lodge was very clean and well looked after. The white goods were top notch. Washing machine had mould in it and the staff were attentive and did try to clean it. Will recommend replacing the rubber on it but that ain't a biggie. The cafe only serves drinks. Will strongly recommend the milk shakes, they were just yum.

The lodge we had was just perfect, big with plenty of room, 3 bathrooms, comfortable beds and a lovely decking area for our dogs to roam about. Views of the sea for us was lovely and located on the beach making those walking very peaceful. The beach is quiet and also great woodland walks. Basic facilities on site, don't serve food but the location means it's easier to get about on the island. 5 minutes in the car to the ferry port. Tesco and pubs nearby.

I enjoyed my stay overall, but the lodge really does need a deep clean. The table and windows were dirty, and although the fridge issue (ice build-up) was resolved quickly, the dishwasher and dryer didn’t work well. Space was also very limited around the bed, making it difficult to move comfortably or get in and out of the shower. On the positive side, the bar staff were excellent. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name from the West Indies, but he is an absolute credit to you – attentive, friendly, and a pleasure to talk to. The check-in team could certainly learn a lot from his care and attention to detail. That said, it was disappointing that the restaurant and coffee shop advertised at booking weren’t available, as we had planned to enjoy a couple of meals onsite. The gym also lacked hand sanitiser and cleaning products for equipment, and there were a lot of cobwebs. The hot tub was another let-down, with missing parts and very little power. Having stayed at three Darwin lodges previously, I found those to be far superior in terms of quality and upkeep. At this stage, I’m not sure I’d return unless the hot tub is improved, the lodge is given a much more thorough clean, and proper food options are made available on site. Be great to have a smart TV. Or remember to take a fire stick with you. Need pint glasses.

Our third time on this site and as usual it didn’t disappoint. Very friendly welcome when we checked in, and the lodge was perfect. Very spacious, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals and the living space is plenty large enough, nice decked area outside as well. We had a couple of very slight problems on the first night but these were sorted as soon as we informed reception. We went for a drink in the bar one evening, again really friendly service and nice outdoor seating area. A 5 minute walk takes you to a quiet secluded beach overlooking Portsmouth. We are already booked in for next year, can’t wait!

Lovely holiday. Stayed in an 4 bed lodge with hot tub. Modern, comfortable and nice decor. Encountered a few niggles such as the kitchen stuff being a bit broken (frying pans knackered, blunt knives and dishwasher lacking in salt and rinse aid). When flagged with staff they were instantly responsive and sorted everything. Site was well maintained and clear signage for everything. Great location and really close to the beach (a short walk through the woods)!

A good location not far from anywhere really. There is a short walk down to a small section of beach overlooking the Solent. The lodges are built and furnished to a good standard. Well cleaned at each changeover, a quick phone call to reception resolves any minor issues, staff are positive. Our second stay, all good.

Stayed for three nights. Beds were awesome best night sleep in ages. Hot tub was good or though got told we could arrive early at our lodge and found the cold water still running in the hot tub so was cold and took a whole evening to get warm. But apart from that everything in the lodge was excellent

A lovely place to spend some down time. Lodges are spacious and comfortable, with all mod. cons.and with a spacious balcony. It has a small beach and lovely woodlands for walks in the area. There is also a very nice clubhouse, which has a bar, food & lots of outside areas to sit & stare. A really comfortable place to recharge the batteries and enjoy life!

Stayed at Woodside a number of times and would not hesitate to go back. All the facilities in the lodges, dishwasher etc. so you can still have a lovely relaxing time even though self-catering with a dog. Quiet, peaceful setting and everything you could want within easy reach. Would have been a 5 star review but lodge was not quite as clean as usual on arrival with fluff and hair in corners of some rooms but that has not been a problem previously so hope it is a one off.
