   New Forest you never disappointed. Thank you for having us. Avoid room 32 at FL poor pressure in shower maybe in Georgian times but not in modern. Room was cosy but right next to a door on the landing which never stopped banging well into the evening and early in the morning as its situated next to the stairs down to the pool so you can imagine with the pool open till 10 pm.. Bang bang bang! Love dogs but way to many on site. If it's a dog hotel only fair you advertise it as one. One family had four dogs! Most families had dogs and one overly excited dog cocked it's leg up at the bar. Didn't take us long to see the condition of the carpets and the lack of cleaning being done. No change of towels until we asked for some and not sure how long the filled water bottle had been in the room when we arrived. On a positive note breakfast was ok evening food went straight through me so avoid the chili con carne! Would like to visit the forest in the summer but sadly will not be returning to this hotel.

   Friendly but inconsistent service. Had a great dinner but very poor breakfast. Room not cleaned to high standard. Swimming pool not open during advertised times and sauna has apparently been broken for two years. Great position for Lyndhurst

   We have just returned from a 2 night break via a Waitrose offer giving a 40% reduction on bed, breakfast and 1 evening meal. All we can say is if the offer was at full price we would have left and asked for a refund. We were given a grim room. The lightshades were broken, the carpet was dirty and worn and had no underlay - it was like walking directly on a concrete floor. The toilet seat was askew, toilet roll holder kept tipping and the vinyl bathroom floor was lifting and badly rumpled. The toilet required 2 flushes at least, as it the flush was so ineffectual. There was black mould around the bath tiles and dirt around the bath tap fitment. The bedroom was very dated with damaged furniture. The doors had to be slammed shut which was a nightmare at night. The tea and coffee facility was basic, 4 breakfast teabags and 4 Earl Grey, and 8 Nescafe sachets. Ok, you may think but, you have to go and ask reception for anything more or replacements as they do not service the room while you are there. We ended up with rubbish, teabags, sour milk jugs accumulating. We were so disappointed that we were given such a basic room when the offer suggests a twice the price room!! The hotel wasn't remotely full so why lose a repeat booking over penny pinching and allocating a room which was genuinely substandard. We understand cost cutting but there were no extras like shower caps, dressing gown, and things to make your stay comfortable. A single standard pump bottle for all your soap requirements, shower, shave, hair wash, and conditioner. Our meal was served in the bar. Simple choice. However, very poor value however, if we had been paying separately. On the plus side. The bed was large and quite comfortable, although a tiny room. The towels were white and good quality. The very few staff were super. Professional polite and friendly. Kelly, the breakfast room supervisor (?) on both our days, was exemplary. The breakfasts were excellent and served in a lovely bright dining room. The pool was adequate and usually available, except when being used by local schools/ baby clubs. Location was good to access Lyndhurst town and for direct walking into the New Forest. The point of an offer is NOT to give sub standard provision or facilities because you have an offer. The point of an offer is you should receive the exact same as if the offer was not on!

   Not really impressed. On booking.com it clearly says breakfast included, but when we went down the next day we were told a cooked breakfast was extra money. In addition, the person at the reception never mention this when we checked in, so that was disappointing. We did stay here years ago, and it seems nothing has changed. It’s a nice hotel, with a great location, but the decor is tired and the whole place needs a good refresh. It maybe used to be a four star hotel, but not anymore.

   We were gifted a Virgin Experience voucher we used for our 2 night stay to Forest Lodge Hotel. If we had to sum up the hotel we would say, great staff but the rooms need some TLC. We had everything we needed however we were disappointed with the bathroom - in particular the shower. I am never a fan of over bath showers and shower curtains are mould magnets. A new shower/wet room would modernise the room and surely be more environmentally friendly than a bath. The hotel has a pool and it was nice to be able to have a swim. Again, the area could do with a lick of paint and some locks on the 2 family changing rooms. One of us stood guard, whilst the other got dressed -something which could easily be changed. The breakfast staff were very polite and attentive and the breakfast was good quality-there was plenty to choose from. The hotel is around 5 to 10 minutes walk from Lyndhurst and there are plenty of cafés and pubs to nearby.

   Kelly was so nice and lovely she greeted us as soon as we walked in. We stopped off to charge the car as we were coming from far and passing through and saw the coffee while you charge sign. The coffee, the tea room and the overall service was excellent. Kelly made sure we were comfortable. The butterfly shortbread biscuits they gave us on the house were epic! I will for sure come again if I am ever passing. Thank you Kelly.

   We were looking for a hotel to stay at on Boxing Day leaving the Isle of Wight en route to Bournemouth Airport and not wanting any delays as it was the Xmas period. The hotel was very accommodating as they were offering a Xmas package and we only wanted one night. We arrived late afternoon and were impressed with the wonderful Georgian building all beautifully lit up. At the entrance we were given a warm welcome by Alex who showed us to the check in desk and then took us through to an elegant room where afternoon tea had been prepared on a long table and was set up with a selection of drinks, warm scones (with and without sultanas) , clotted cream and jam. A most impressive Xmas cake took pride of place and was beautifully moist with traditional royal icing made by the resident lady pastry chef. . After checking into our rooms we went to the indoor swimming pool. The pool room was lovely and warm and so was the water. Lovely and refreshing after our journey. The evening. meal was served in the beautifully decorated restaurant . We all ordered different meals cooked by their Italian chef Antimony. The food was superb and so was our breakfast . A very good all round choice on the two menus. The hotel has 10 bedrooms but only oneroom has a walk in shower. It contained twin single beds. My only criticism is that the beds were too narrow and only suitable for children. Also the mattress was unyielding. My biggest regret was not taking a slice of the delicious Xmas cake with me on my journey!!

   Afternoon tea Absolutely not worth the money, rubbish service, walked into an empty room nobody at the front desk, also the same for a couple that came shortly after us, they were waiting around for someone to turn up. the guy did not know what he was serving us, what teas they had - I had to look it up on my phone!!! I called beforehand to confirm what the sandwich fillings would be, and we got served something completely different. Way too much sweet stuff and not nearly enough savoury. Atmosphere was dead, so quiet no music, felt normal volume of talking was too loud. Annoyed that they ruined what was supposed to be a birthday treat for a friend.
