“The proprietors were some of the nicest people you could wish to meet. I was having problems getting to them, this wasn't a problem for them that waited up and allowed me to check in late. Thank you very much for your kindness and understanding. Highly recommended, I will use again.”

“Stayed for a two day break and the staff were friendly and helpful. The parking was free and plenty of spaces. The room was clea, functional & well decorated. The mattress was a bit hard, but ok. The location was perfect, as we could see the cathedral from our room, which was fantastic. Plus it was close to other historical houses. Breakfast was serve yourself a choice of full English ( great sausages) or continental. Salisbury is a beautiful place, with an amazing assortment of shops. We visited some beautiful historical places and walked along the river, well worth a visit.”

“Have been travelling around England staying in many Inn’s about the price point of Qudos. Qudos is head and shoulders the best, tastefully renovated to a high standard, I am very impressed. Even had dinner in the restaurant and it was really good. Would totally recommend.”

“I would like to express our sincere thanks for the wonderful accommodation you provided for the pupils and staff of Cranleigh Preparatory School. Your warm hospitality, attention to detail, and thoughtful organisation created a comfortable and welcoming environment for everyone. We truly appreciated all the hard work and care that went into making our stay run so smoothly. The pupils and staff especially loved the amazing full English breakfast on Sunday morning — it was a real highlight and set everyone up perfectly for the day.”

“We stayed in the little cottage, super comfy for two people and a little dog, although there are bunk beds too. Quality bed, pillows, towels, loo paper, and abundant food hamper on arrival. Very well equipped kitchen (although could use better pan for eggs and a the strainer was missing in the caffetiere), board games, small paint set, books and DVD player will keep you entertained in the rain. Charlotte was there to greet us and was quick responding when we needed anything (We didn't ask for a better pan or strainer however i am sure Charlotte would have provided as she was very accommodating on other things!). It was delightful and I hope we go back next year.”

“From the moment we arrived, this has been perfect:- Sandy had a baguette, butter, eggs and milk (we got in a bit late) waiting for us 'just in case we needed a bite'! The flat is beautiful, neat as a pin, georgous, fresh and clean with a sweet kitchen, large bathroom, cozy beds and did I mention the sheets are crisp cotton and smell yummy! the views out the windows are spectacular, we walked (100yards) to the Greyhound for a beer and dinner, shopped at the market , had breakfast at Coffee Darling then spent the day cruising/walking all over town. Sandy and Peter were great, right here if we needed them and very kind and helpful. I can only imagine we will be back! Thank you Sandy and Peter for jump starting our European Summer holiday!!”

“Dogwood is a very well designed cottage within the larger building containing Buttercup Cottage as shown in the main listing photograph. The cottage I think is a recent conversion showing very high standard of design and workmanship with a modern kitchen and bathrooms all in immaculate condition and spotless. The bedrooms are well designed and comfortable and the modern radiator heating system keeps the cottage very warm and cosy. Wifi worked flawlessly and fast and the modern log burner in the lounge was easy to light and control. (more logs available in the local Co op in Downton a couple of miles away) The hosts Claire and Clive live nearby and were good communicators and unobtrusive. The welcome pack and flowers were a nice touch and appreciated. Dogwood is situated on a narrow twisting lane with little traffic thus giving tranquility to the stay. Redlynch is situated a few miles from the border of the New Forest and within a few minutes drive you can enjoy the unique landscape of the forest. The EV charging was an appreciated feature and will become an essential in years to come. Overall you will not be disappointed with the cottage and the hosts - everything is to a very high standard. In keeping with transparency in this review we do have a complaint with Sykes Cottages who manage the bookings. When I originally booked the cottage through Sykes I made a genuine mistake with the day of arrival. I contacted the booking department within 45 mins and explained I had booked it one day too early and asked them to amend to Saturday arrival. In due course a reply came and informed me that the date cannot be altered due to "system limitations" I replied asking what were the system limitations? There was no answer. I repeated my request and explained the situation carefully. There was no answer. I can only think that either Computer Says No Or Sykes Cottages do not understand what Customer Service means? If Booking.com and all major hotel chains allow time limited flexibility then why cannot Sykes Cottages? This is no reflection on the cottage or the hosts as can be seen in the above review. I will however be avoiding Sykes Cottages for zero understanding of the mistake and ignoring my two subsequent emails”

“We have an excellent weekend stay in Blackdown Views. It certainly has the ‘wow’ factor when you arrived, nestled in tranquil countryside. The house itself was really well equipped with everything you could possible need available for the kitchen, as well as well stocked cleaning products and complimentary mini toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was really clean too, we couldn’t fault it. There was a small issue with the hot water but this was very quickly resolved with the help of Justin. We’d thoroughly recommend staying here, and are already looking at when we can re-book to visit again!”

“We stayed here for a short break as a base to visit the New Forest. It's a lovely comfortable, modern cottage with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The cottage sleeps 5 and is spread over 3 floors. There is off-road parking for two cars. A village shop and pub is nearby and there is a well provisioned co-op supermarket a short drive away. Thoroughly recommend Buttercup Cottage as a place to stay.”

“this is a great value hotel. The rooms are big with comfortable beds. They have large bathrooms and fluffy towels. There is a nice pub ( the poacher) a five minute walk away and a Indian restaurant opposite. Its in suite location offering a good night sleep. The host Angela and her team are really friendly and professional and happy to assist to ensure u enjoy yr stay.I have stayed here at least twice every year for five years .Tip: if you take the lane to the right of the hotel you will find lots of free roaming donkeys and pigs and great cycle tracks.Note: the new forest is big so u can drive five minutes or forty depending what sights u want to see.( ignore the couple of not so nice reviews as they just wanted to get a free trip and refund). I’ve stayed at lots of places in the new forest and u won’t get better value than this”
