“We feel so lucky to have found Amanda! She is absolutely wonderful with our dog, who clearly loves his outings with her. Amanda has also checked in and looked after our cats whilst we have been away and it was great to know that they were being so well cared for. Always understanding when there have been changes to our weekly schedule, we really couldn't manage without her.”

“Dogwood is a very well designed cottage within the larger building containing Buttercup Cottage as shown in the main listing photograph. The cottage I think is a recent conversion showing very high standard of design and workmanship with a modern kitchen and bathrooms all in immaculate condition and spotless. The bedrooms are well designed and comfortable and the modern radiator heating system keeps the cottage very warm and cosy. Wifi worked flawlessly and fast and the modern log burner in the lounge was easy to light and control. (more logs available in the local Co op in Downton a couple of miles away) The hosts Claire and Clive live nearby and were good communicators and unobtrusive. The welcome pack and flowers were a nice touch and appreciated. Dogwood is situated on a narrow twisting lane with little traffic thus giving tranquility to the stay. Redlynch is situated a few miles from the border of the New Forest and within a few minutes drive you can enjoy the unique landscape of the forest. The EV charging was an appreciated feature and will become an essential in years to come. Overall you will not be disappointed with the cottage and the hosts - everything is to a very high standard. In keeping with transparency in this review we do have a complaint with Sykes Cottages who manage the bookings. When I originally booked the cottage through Sykes I made a genuine mistake with the day of arrival. I contacted the booking department within 45 mins and explained I had booked it one day too early and asked them to amend to Saturday arrival. In due course a reply came and informed me that the date cannot be altered due to "system limitations" I replied asking what were the system limitations? There was no answer. I repeated my request and explained the situation carefully. There was no answer. I can only think that either Computer Says No Or Sykes Cottages do not understand what Customer Service means? If Booking.com and all major hotel chains allow time limited flexibility then why cannot Sykes Cottages? This is no reflection on the cottage or the hosts as can be seen in the above review. I will however be avoiding Sykes Cottages for zero understanding of the mistake and ignoring my two subsequent emails”

“We have an excellent weekend stay in Blackdown Views. It certainly has the ‘wow’ factor when you arrived, nestled in tranquil countryside. The house itself was really well equipped with everything you could possible need available for the kitchen, as well as well stocked cleaning products and complimentary mini toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was really clean too, we couldn’t fault it. There was a small issue with the hot water but this was very quickly resolved with the help of Justin. We’d thoroughly recommend staying here, and are already looking at when we can re-book to visit again!”

“We stayed here for a short break as a base to visit the New Forest. It's a lovely comfortable, modern cottage with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The cottage sleeps 5 and is spread over 3 floors. There is off-road parking for two cars. A village shop and pub is nearby and there is a well provisioned co-op supermarket a short drive away. Thoroughly recommend Buttercup Cottage as a place to stay.”
