Absolutely brilliant cottage. loads of space did not want for anything. surroundings are lovely, the play barn which has everything children and adults would need also plenty to do for the kids in the area. “The dentist talked me through my whole treatment plan which consisted of 4 procedures including a root extraction. The assistant was very attentive & considerate to the discomfort I was experiencing. I was given plenty of time to compose myself after each procedure. Anaesthetic injections were administered in right places to minimise pain & discomfort. The dentist took care & time to ensure my bite was correct.”

“Great location and ideal for a getaway. So close to Chatsworth House, so we made full use of the pub & farm shop also situated in Pilsley which boasts veggies from the estate. Breakfast was fantastic - filled out a form the night before with exactly what you liked. I had fresh fruit, which was all fresh! And my partner opted for the full fry up, and cleared the plate every time. Well-adjusted to the COVID-19 safety precautions as well, plenty of sanitiser available and everything was organized so there was minimal contact with other guests.”

“Best chippy by far! Have been using this chippy for years, never had a bad meal. Staff are always lovely and friendly, fish is always fresh and flakey. Chips, spot on and the curry sauce is gorgeous! Can't fault it, brilliant!”

“Enjoyed our stay so much will be booking again at this lovely cottage. Large bedroom with spacious en suite, having one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. Great hosts with wonderful friendly service with a good choice of breakfasts. It is short walk to the pub which also serves meals, a social club with such friendly people and there is a cafe and local shops almost next door.”

“Review added as someone who was wandering the park, not staying here The views from the grounds around the tower are fantastic. Three cannons pointing out over the derwent valley, with views of Edensor Church in the distance, and various parts of the Peak District. Definitely makes for a unique photo and on a blue sky day in autumn, must be wonderful to see (i went in early october, so the colours are only just starting to change For anyone thinking about staying here. The sign says it’s private, but I imagine this tower is photo’d dozens of times a day, and tourists will be yards from your door”

“Great stay. Well furnished and decorated. Kitchen could be a tiny bit bigger for cooking for large groups but overall ample room, fridges and amenities. Hot tub was hot when we arrived. There is electric charging for cars if needed.”

“Had an amazing stay here in Bakewell, beautiful accommodation. So close to all the amenities and breathtaking views for morning yoga! Maggie was amazingly polite and had superb communication throughout. Incredibly spacious, with many more rooms than we required. Whole place was spotless, and surprised at how large the kitchen was and had plenty of pots/pans/utensils. Would certainly stay again!”

The service was fantastic, as always, and the extra little touches (Christmas crackers and a beautifully set table) made it feel so special. “We did a takeaway. The chicken biryani and lamb biryani was amazing well spice and good portions. You could taste it was cooked traditionally in a Tandoori oven. The onion Baji and pashwari naan was fresh and tasty. I could not fault them they also ensure that my allergies were catered for.”

“I was traveling with my mum and booked this cottage last minute, Kym responded quickly and gave us all of the information how to get there and check in. Cottage is located on a working farm, surrounded by amazing views as it is on top of the hill. The views were amazing. When we arrived we were greeted by free roaming goats, also there were 2 lamas in a fenced up area. We could hear cows as well. Accommodation was very clean and cosy, kitchen very well equipped, very nice shower, beds were comfortable, dining/living room had table with chairs and 2 comfortable sofas. The cottage has very nice vibes. Small decorations made it feel very cosy. We stayed for a few days and it was perfect. Located very close to Bakewell, which is right in the middle of the Peak District, which makes easy to travel to any location from there. only 30min to Dovedale, or 30 min to get to Castleton. Kym was very helpful. Check in was very simple. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.”

“Went to rose cottage last night for our lovely friends 80th birthday. Got seated on the party table, decorated for her birthday by the lovely Bev. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, food was amazing and the fizz offer was much appreciated. Fab evening, brilliant staff, especially Bev. Will I be back, deffo xxxx”

“The best Sunday Dinner bar my Mum's that I've had in a pub. I had the Slow Roast Leg of Lamb that came with roasties, mash, carrots, seasonal greens, a massive Yorkshire pudding and gravy. I also had some cauliflower cheese as an extra which was well worth £3. I had Raspberry Gin Cheesecake for pudding. I am stuffed now as they don't stint on portion sizes. The staff were lovely as well. Very friendly. I will definitely come here again for Sunday dinner xxx”

“Excellent Sunday lunch. Nice pub with a traditional pub feel, and a dining room facing onto a nice pub garden. Service was friendly and quick. Food was good. Had the trio roast which was tasty. Portion size was excellent (big). Roast had I think three meats, stuffing, roasties, mash, parsnip, carrots, cabbage, leeks and I think peas. Excellent value at 19 quid. I also had a side of pigs in blankets which I really didn't need but where also good. Whilst we don't have dogs, also loved the free doggie treats and water bowls for four legged friends as nice touch you don't often see. This was our first time here and we will definitely be going again.”
