βWe visited Roxy on a quiet Tuesday night. We booked on for crazy pool and the staff member said we could do as many rounds as we pleased. There was only one other couple up there. We loved the crazy pool course and had a couple rounds. We even ended up staying to do ice-free curling. Again there was no time limit and we got to make full use of the space. Would definitely recommend. Only downside is both the crazy pool and ice-free curling was up a long set of stairs. Hopefully there is a lift for people who need it as the toilets were also up here.β
βWe always have a great time at swimming, currently attending weekly. The staff are friendly, the pool is suitably sized and warm, and the swimbabes programme is great for encouraging the first steps to swimming. Very happy with the facilities and service.β
βA heated outdoor pool in lovely surroundings. A real gem in Hathersage. Check the website whether you need to book. In summer you definitely will. Changing rooms and an excellent cafe just outside. Highly recommend.β
βWe had such a great day here! tons of exciting slides as well as a fun obstacle course. What really made it special was the paddle boarding! Right next to the water park where you can rent paddle boards. It was the perfect way to wind down after all the water park excitement. The water was calm, the scenery was peaceful, and it was such a fun activity for both beginners and more experienced paddlers. Only βdownsideβ is if you donβt have a car itβs a 40 minute walk from the nearest bus stop but if you enjoy walking it should be no problem! Itβs rare to find a place that combines both high-energy water park fun with something more relaxing like paddle boarding β we loved both and would definitely come back. Highly recommended for families, couples, or groups of friends looking for a full day of water activities!β
βOur boys have been going for about a year. Ashleigh does a great job in developing their swimming skills. The place is always spotless, the classes are small and the prices are good. Highly recommended!β
βThis is a lovely cafΓ© in Hathersage village just a little set back from the main road and only a short walk from the railway station. Convenient for refreshment after an outdoor pool swim and the breakfast menu includes a special dish of Turkish origins. Sizeable scones look good too.β
βThe Team were an absolute joy tonight, Georgia was very welcoming at the front desk and was full of recommendations making us feel extremely comfortable from the start. Dan was also very bubbly and warming. Will be returning ! Couldnβt recommend these two enough β€οΈβ
βVery hot upstairs in the viewing gallery, much better viewing and cooler in the cafe, which has a full glass wall and seatingβ
βWas having a problem with my hotntub heating up. Contact hydroactive spas and they said an engineer would contact me. Within the hour Martin called me and we discussed the problem. He said he would need to book me in for an appointment. 20 minutes later Maring called me again and said he was in Manchester and could come over to Ormskirk know. What a fantastic service from a fabulous Engineer, Martin and the company. Problem has know been fixed and working fine. Thank god for my warranty.β
βGreat stay at Whitton Lodge, the house was clean and large enough for all 26 of us to spend time together! Hot tub was a big hit as was the pool table! We will likely be coming back again!β
βWe visited the gardens on their charity open day. Have visited twice previously and on each occasion it has been a lovely experience. It is a beautiful place.β
βAll 3 of my children had swimming lessons here. My son who is 8 goes every Saturday. He loves going and the staff are amazing.β
βWho doesn't like water fountains. Nice outdoor area in Sheffield city centre bounded by two Wetherspoons (Benjamin Huntsman is easily the better of those) and a Yates (no real ale there). Quiet and a place of reflection - forgive the pun ..β
βI decided at the last minute to refill our hot tub for valentine's night as we had emptied it due to selling the bungalow but needed a new filter, I called aquafun who was closed but he agreed to reopen up for me to buy a filter ,we had an amazing night ,what a legend he was , thank you from Peter and Jeanβ
βWeβve had swimming lessons with Tanya at the Quays for just over a year, since my little boy was 4 months old. My little boy really enjoys his lessons and heβs built up so much confidence being in the water. Tanya is lovely, gives plenty of encouragement and explains the importance of learning the different water activities. The Quays has free on site parking and a big changing room with plenty of space to change your baby. Highly recommended!β
βWe were early so visited The friendly Library in the same building. Which had lots of activities & interest for children young & older. Then walked through to swim time. Great pool lovely welcoming staff.β
βI can't recommend Bakewell swimming pool enough. Excellent customer service, always helpful and willing to answer questions. Daughter has been having swimming lessons here over the past few years and I can't fault the instructors and friendliness towards her during lessons. She has achieved a level of swimming far beyond my expectations when she began and hopefully she'll continue in the future. She's had some truly dedicated instructors over the years. A brilliant team of people.β
βGreat place, went in for 1st time other night, lager at a great price and big function room for eventsβ
βCan't fault the training pool here. My 2 year old grandson loves it. Even a few toys for the kiddies. Big shout out to the young lady on lifeguard duty. She got my grandson really engaged and even encouraged him to try to swim across the pool for a toy, which he did with a little help. He gave her a lovely wave as we left.β
βBrilliant pool, facilities are great and staff friendly.β
βI had a great experience at the Royal Victoria, so far the best (chain) hotel I've stayed at in Sheffield. The staff were professional and friendly, and whilst the lobby are and hallways are showing their age a little, the room was absolutely lovely. It was well-equipped and modern, as well as light and airy (we had a corner room). One note: it is located on top of a very busy road, and though the windows are quite good at blocking the noise, if you're a light sleeper then perhaps bring earplugs to be on the safe side. I had some with me but forgot to put them in and still slept great. The advantage is that you're within 15mins walk of the train station, and the same distance from Kelham Island and the city centre!β
βRemains our preferred swimming pool in Sheffield as a family, we love the leisure swimming its a mix of relaxation and fun.β
βWhat a lovely little Victorian baths. I came for a 7am swim this morning for the first time and loved it. You need to book a slot as they get filled up pretty quickly, but I think you can pay on the day too. The pool was a lovely temperature, and not over crowded with most spaces gone. Individual changing cubicles are along each long side of the pool, keeping in keeping with the history of the building. Did read some reports of the pool area being dirty, but going for the first session of the day was very clean. There is also a small gym on site, and by the reception area are some vending machines. Excited to go back!β
βAmazing place to visit if you like walks or even just chilling, and even a quick paddle if its a warm day, kids had an amazing time and spent most the day in the water. Cafe has amazing food and it work out no more expensive than it you went to a fast food place, but it tastes far better....β
βMy son has been having swim lessons for a few weeks now and he is absolutely loving them. The weekly themes help keep the lessons new and engaging for him and the support from the staff is fantastic. They are always so enthusiastic and friendly and keen to give feedback at the end of each lesson so you really feel like you're clear about the progress they're making. Abbie and Albert are particularly fantastic with the younger children in their Swim 1 classes and you can see them making progress and getting more and more confident every week! I would highly recommend swim! to any parent looking at getting their children started on their swimming journey.β
βGreat facilities. The gym was refurbished near the end of 2023 so all the equipment is pretty new. There are synthetic pitches, squash courts, fitness studios, A multipurpose sports hall (badminton, basketball, etc) Water fountains available all over. Staff are helpful and friendly. Taken a few fitness classes and the instructor (Alison) has been excellent. The only issue is the pool is now permanently closed. I think the rock climbing wall may have been removed as the room was used for a weights room the last time I looked. Lockers are free, as is the water. Fitness classes are inexpensive. The site is spread across two public buildings, with lockers, showers and changing rooms in both.β
βVery good pool with brilliant access. Steps and wheelchair access. Good changing rooms and lockers.β
βSuch a great local pool, fun sessions for kids in the holidays. Love the warm water sessions for younger kids too!β
βI have been a member of Nuffield Gym (Sheffield) for a number of years, the gym has everything I need and has great amenities. I have had the privilege of having Patrick Muirhead as my personal trainer for the last few years, I have had many PTs over the years, but Patricks knowledge and ability are exceptional, and his ability to explain the βwhyβ behind each exercise really helps my understanding and how to incorporate this into my own sessions. He has offered cardio, circuits, weights and CrossFit exercises to name a few into the programmes, each session is hard but a great sense of achievement afterwards. I had a medical setback and needed my ACL reconstructed and Patrickβs knowledge and I would say skill at building an increasing developing programme to support my recovery. This has had a really positive impact on my confidence. Patrick will challenge you in each session which is positive, sometimes my aches the following days are noticeable. He has a great sense of building programmes tailored to each persons ability and has βquiteβ the sense of humour. I have really enjoyed my sessions. Patrick is flexible and adaptable and I really do endorse Patrick as a highly skilled and personable personal trainer, I know that my sessions will be personalised, challenging and enjoyable.β
