“My 10 year old son enrolled at g&k at the beginning of december and i have only good things to say. All instructors, parents and students have been so welcoming to us and he cant wait to go every session. Nothing is to much trouble and everyone is approachable if we have any questions. The instructors have a wealth of knowledge and so much experience behind them and it really shows with their students if anyone is looking to enroll themselves or their child in martial arts i would strongly advise you to give them a try.”

“My first visit I attended with my nervous chihuahua, the second visit she was excited when we walked into the main reception and was so confident. She went from being shy and running away to initiating play with other dogs. It’s secure area where dogs can play and socialise off-lead with some agility course obstacles too. The staff are amazing, approachable, very helpful and friendly. There is plenty of fresh water available for the dogs and lots of spray bottles & bags to clean up any dog mess, and it is constantly monitored by staff and the mess is quickly cleaned up. I have to bring my 6yo with me and there’s a little area where she can sit away from all the dogs if it gets too busy. They also have a café but I have not tried it yet.”

“Really peaceful place for a picnic or just to de-stress. Plenty of parking and reasonably priced. Check out my photos for prices as of June 2025. Picnic tables and benches dotted around great for dog walking, some dogs were off the leads. However the track we took was sandy so you'll get a buggy down there however you may struggle with a chair or scooter.”

“We rented a lodge for 2 weeks with our grandchildren- it's a lovely place! So much to do but still very peaceful. We have been in the pool played tennis badminton and table tennis. There is a cafe on site with a wide variety of food. Not far from activities like Botanic Gardens Folly farm and Heatherton world of adventures. Many beautiful beaches nearby too -we love Llansteffan and Pembrey.”

“We tend to use this as an afternoon activity on our way home from Pembrokeshire. The waterpark is a great place to spend a couple of hours swimming, bobbing around and sliding. The master blaster always has the longest queue but we've never waited more than about 15 minutes in line. We love the waves and the lazy river too. It's a firm family favourite for us.”

“Tl;dr Great swimming pool. I've been to many pools in my life and I believe how great the staff are here. The friendly, warm and helpful welcome I've had the last few times I've been here is incredible. If I'm honest the venue doesn't look up to much from the outside but the facilities indoors are actually incredible. Clean tidy chaning area every time. This may sound odd but anyone that uses a pool often may understand, the pool, walls and floor around the pool are always clean too. It actually feels great to swim in. An added bonus for the facility is the smaller pool for young children meaning that the main pool isn't fully booked out all the time for various lessons and classes.”

Been using the place since I went to college here so that's probable why I enjoy it so much - nostalgia! Decent squash courts and squash community.”

“I’ve had assistance from a few members of staff and all in all so lovely. But a HUGE shout to Tina! She had helped me completely 180 flip my pond that was in a horrific state after purchasing a home with a pond. Helped me with filters and helped me understand how to care for the pond as a beginner. We saw a fish that had been missed by previous home owners so I came and got it some friends, found another fish in the pond. Then got another load shortly after (having 11 total) but sadly many of them passed and we couldn’t figure out why until I noticed the ‘filter’ in the pond was just a pump so the poor fish where swimming in their own filth being pumped around. One fish passed within 24 hours of buying it so I came back and they were so kind and replaced it for me. My fishies are now thriving and I love coming to the store and speaking with them all. Always get asked how it’s doing which is so lovely. Attached are a before and a couple of after! HUGE difference. Still algae which is fine but a whole lot better and I’m thrilled! All thanks to Tina’s knowledge and patience with me”

“I recently stayed at Village Hotel Swansea, and it’s genuinely one of the best hotels in the city. The entire place is exceptionally neat and clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. One of my favourite things is the Starbucks on the ground floor — such a nice touch! They also have EV charging stations available in the parking area, which is extremely convenient. Overall, I absolutely love this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Swansea.”

“Have only used the small pool with my children but can say it is the warmest pool I've ever been in. The staff are good and there was always a life guard on duty. The layout of the changing rooms is unusual and the lockers apparently take the old pound coin (?) but we were able to put the bag with our valuables in next to the pool so we could keep an eye on them. Overall a good experience at this pool”

“This is a good pool for serious swimmers and those who just want some fun. There aren't any slides or anything too fancy usually but in the water kids can make their own entertainment. There are however, designated fun sessions, during which they will have a large inflatable island, excellent fun for slightly older kids. Additionally they offer a variety of lessons and classes, a small gym, a jacuzzi, nice clean changing rooms, and excellent facilities for the disabled. Staff here are helpful and dedicated. For a small community pool it is very decent.”

    Swansea Castle

    Open

“Even though you can't access inside, it's always nice to chill out near the ruins . Early years and rebuilding 1106: The first timber castle was built by Henry de Beaumont after he was granted the Lordship of Gower. 1116, 1192, 1215, 1217: The early timber castle was attacked multiple times by Welsh forces, finally being razed in 1217. 1221–1284: William de Braose rebuilt the castle in stone, creating the "New Castle" that forms the basis of the current ruins. Strategic importance and later uses Strategic location: The castle was built on a cliff overlooking the River Tawe, which gave it control of the river and a vital trade route along the coast. Medieval conflicts: The castle was re-garrisoned during the Glyndwr revolt but saw little action in later conflicts like the English Civil War. 18th-century prison: The castle was later adapted to serve as a debtor's prison. Modern era: Today, the ruins are a stark contrast to the modern city center surrounding them, visible in Castle Square.”
