“This is a really cosy bar with oodles of character and a great selection of beers on tap. It's a small venue with just a few tables and chairs inside so just be aware you may not always get to sit down on busier days. On the night I visited, the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. In a nutshell, well worth a visit.”

“We visited here on a beautiful early April afternoon during the school holidays and were amazed at lovely and peaceful the park was. There were plenty of benches around to sit and absorb the oh so lovely surroundings, it is a truly tranquil place and obviously well cared for. There is a great cafe selling a variety of superb food and great coffee too. Facilities wise there are loos and plenty of car parking. All in all the park is one of Sheffield's gems. Well worth a visit. We LOVED it and will be back.”

“First time that we went today, we were there 2 & a half hours, the kids (7 & 8) had a fantastic time and already want us to plan our return visit. Great environment for risky open ended play, my kids found activities that they liked doing and pushed themselves to try new things”

“We've just got back from 4 nights at a Birch Cottage which was in a stunning setting. The prices were very reasonable. The house was clean and the pool was great for the kids, also being very clean. We took a fab circular route and climb to Win hill, well recommended and ate twice in he Cheshire Cheese Inn at the bottom of the lane which was stunning. We also had the Curry Cabin in Hope deliver on the first night, also very tasty. One other recommendation for the owner, I'd update the pack for the house and maybe a small set of goodies or something from somewhere local in arrival... that would top it off nicely. Do beware that the house is spring fed and therefore, water can be a little hit and miss!”

“Great for walking the dog, letting kids run crazy, cafe, ice creams . What more could you ask for. An update to previous review. There are new paths in place to help those with disability or parents with prams. They have cleaned around tree feature too so you can take a rest if you like.”

“Hadn’t been for around 8/9 years and it’s had a huge transformation. Lots of cafes dotted around, updated signage. There was a farmers market on which had great vendors and nice food outlets. Rufford is a so beautiful and it’s been well enhanced”

“Beautiful Hidden Gem in the Peak District! Absolutely stunning walk with magical scenery. The Lumsdale Waterfall trail feels like stepping into a fairytale – peaceful, atmospheric, and full of history. The walk takes you past ruins of old mills and cascading waterfalls, all tucked away in a quiet, green valley. The path is fairly easy to follow, though there are a few steep and uneven spots – good footwear is a must, especially after rain. It’s not a long walk, but there’s plenty to take in and enjoy. Great for a peaceful nature escape, photography, or a short family adventure. Parking is limited nearby, and the area is privately owned in parts, so it’s important to stick to the marked public footpaths. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Matlock area!”

“We found this place completely by accident while looking for a coffee shop and it looked so cool we had to go in and have a look! If you like old tools or trains this place is definitely worth a visit. The old workshop looks as if everyone downed tools one day and never went back”

“Beautiful bridge with good views. There are nice slots in the bridge that allow you to look at the view without getting in other people's way too.”

“We booked a night at the comedy club as part of an evening out in Sheffield and, honestly, didn’t really know what to expect, but overall it was a really enjoyable night. One small issue was the queueing on arrival. We were second in the queue, but the organisers opened another door further around the building and let people in from that point, meaning quite a few people at the front of the que had to then wait to get in, which was a bit confusing. A simple sign or clearer guidance on where people should queue would have avoided this. Aside from that, everything else was great. Drinks and food were available, the atmosphere was good, and the comedy was thoroughly enjoyable. Overall, a nice night out and one we’d happily do again.”

“A lovely little park with tennis courts and childrens play area. This park is home to bishops house a Tudor hunting lodge now a museum with Tudor period rooms. There are also wonderful panoramic views of Sheffield from the top of the hill. It is great for sledging in winter thanks to it's steep hills.”

“Great place, can be busy in the playground area but a lot more secluded and calm in the woodland part of it. They have a really great river and even have a lake to feed the ducks. In my opinion one of the best parks in sheff. They are even equipped with a nice cafe.”

“A beautiful tropical garden in the heart of Sheffield. The selection of tropical flowers and plants are housed under the incredible structure above. There is a cafe and a few other vendors inside and it’s well worth visiting.”

“Millhouse Park is a lovely spot for both relaxation and recreation. It’s perfect for a peaceful walk, with plenty of open space and greenery to enjoy. Families will especially appreciate the well-maintained children’s play area, which keeps little ones entertained for hours. The cafeteria with pond view with boat rides adds a charming touch. On top of that, the park offers a variety of playgrounds and sports areas, so there’s something for everyone. “Really beautiful open space with the fabulous backdrop of the Gothic architecture of the town hall. Plenty of places to sit & enjoy the fresh air, gardens & water features.”

“Had a really nice afternoon, it was quiet and the first time I had been with my 8 month old. Plenty to do and the staff were really helpful. Grace served me at the cafe and she was friendly and helped me with my drinks to the table. Will definitely be visiting again soon.”

“Lovely place, a bit dull at moment given where still in winter mode, A few paths closed ( seem to be water logged 2/2/25 ) not much in way of birds or deer. Great walk around and a few people about , Cafe area is large but the wooden/metal chairs are too heavy.”

“Myself and my little boy (14months) came here for light illuminations and stayed over in hotel. What an amazing time! Hotel was immaculate, super clean, modern. A great nights sleep! Staff were super friendly and helpful especially accommodating as I was my own with little one. Only downside was the travel cot mattress was extremely hard but this is common across most hotels we visit. Zoo itself was great. Super clean, great to see all the animals, play areas were super for little ones too. Illuminations was spectacular and SO impressive! Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend :)”

“Great castle and stunning views. We went while the Halloween events were on and my 6 year old absolutely loved it. I think it would have been nice for more information to be around to read, for those of us that didn't pick up an audio guide (they are hard to listen to with a young child running around), some short descriptions of each of the rooms around the castle would have been really interesting. But overall really enjoyed our visit!”
