“Quite the treasure trove inside, if you want to fully explore you’ll probably need at least two hours. Lots to see and enjoy for adults and children.”
“Been to the venue twice for an awards evening. Staff are friendly and attentive. The food was good and portions were adequate. Plenty of choice at the bar. Easy to find and plenty of Onsite parking.”
“It's a beautiful house and gardens. The lake area is beautiful and well kept, there's ducks and geese too. The gardens are well maintained and there's plenty of seats and trestle tables dotted around. It's a great place to chill out on a sunny day. There's a great cafe with seating inside and outside, it has a large menu which includes vegan and gluten free dishes and has a large selection of hot & cold drinks. The gardens are fairly small but there are plenty of public rights of way and the countryside is beautiful. It's around 1 mile walk from Sprotbrough and only 2.5 mile walk from Doncaster.”
“My wife and I got married here and the venue is absolutely incredible! Stunning wild flowerscin summer, historic ruins included in the backdrop. Fire pit on an evening. Perfect for us!”
“A nice comfortable apartment to live in, good location, friendly staff, good facilities.”
“It's been many years since I visited the park, greatly improved. The grounds were very well kept, gorgeous autumn colours. The museum was very good with very knowledgeable guides Really enjoyed it”
“Lovely museum. Very nicely kept and the timepieces are wonderful. Recommend listening to the talk about voice clocks.”
“Excellent stay at Leopold Hotel Sheffield. The hotel is stylish, clean and very comfortable, with well-appointed rooms and great attention to detail. The staff were friendly, professional and always helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. The location is perfect, right in the city centre and close to shops, restaurants and attractions. A calm, welcoming atmosphere and great value for money. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.”
“Fantastic little pub with traditional food and a reasonable selection of drinks. Food was amazing but could have done with a few more chips with my meal. Staff were knowledgeable and wonderfully helpful. Not the biggest pub but had quite a busy atmosphere. Toilets were lovely and clean. All in all a great place to stop for dinner or a cosy evening of drinks”
“The National Videogame Museum is a fantastic place to visit, especially if you grew up playing classic games. They have a great collection of old, traditional arcade and console games that instantly bring back childhood memories. It’s a real nostalgia trip and also a lot of fun for anyone new to retro gaming. What I really liked is that there’s no time limit on how long you can stay, so you can take your time exploring and playing as much as you like. Just note they do close briefly for lunch, but it’s easy enough to plan around. The facilities are good too, with toilets available on-site, which makes it convenient if you’re spending a few hours there. Overall, it’s a fun and unique activity for both adults and kids, and I’d happily recommend it for a day out.”
“This is a very friendly club to visit. The drinks are very competitively priced. There is entertainment on some nights and of course the bingo. A nice pleasant evening . Take a visit and see for yourself”
“I had a great experience at the Royal Victoria, so far the best (chain) hotel I've stayed at in Sheffield. The staff were professional and friendly, and whilst the lobby are and hallways are showing their age a little, the room was absolutely lovely. It was well-equipped and modern, as well as light and airy (we had a corner room). One note: it is located on top of a very busy road, and though the windows are quite good at blocking the noise, if you're a light sleeper then perhaps bring earplugs to be on the safe side. I had some with me but forgot to put them in and still slept great. The advantage is that you're within 15mins walk of the train station, and the same distance from Kelham Island and the city centre!”
“Great place for a day out. Fabulous scenery and lovely walks. The museum is fascinating and the gift shop has a good selection of books, minerals and maps. The cafe has a good selection if you're hungry/thirsty. All in all, a great place to go.”
“Perfectly positioned in the heart of the city, this hotel offers ultimate convenience with everything within walking distance. Huge props to Charles for the warm welcome! Spacious rooms at a great price, and the breakfast was truly exceptional - one of the best we've experienced!”
“Very welcoming and helpful. Super Clean. Great food and staff. Rooms where super comfy and looked great. Stayed for 5 nights. Will happily come back again.”
“Clean, comfortable, easily accessible hotel with ample parking. The room was a little hot, due to no AC, however a large fan was provided which helped a lot. The restaurant next door has reopened, although I didn't use it on this visit. The stand out point for me, was the staff! We had travelled from Devon, for my partner to have major surgery at Northern General Hospital, and an, otherwise, stressful visit was made bearable by the care & compassion of every member of staff I met; they went above & beyond to check that I had everything I needed and that I was OK & enquired daily about my partner (he's recovering well). I'll be back to stay again when I return to bring him home. THANK YOU!”
“Great customer service, very attentive and helpfull. The rooms are big, clean and well organized. They offer a spa, swimming pool and many other features. The hotel is very beautiful, its architecture and plant-instalations. The location is amazing, it’s next to a beautiful church and square with a water fountain and water sculptures. You can walk to all needed places : museums, theatre, shopping and restaurants. It’s has a winter garden , a terrace , it’s really amazing place to book. Definitely recommend.”
“Let's remember this is a budget hotel. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. The hotel itself is clean and in nice condition. Rooms are good value, large, and clean. Location is good for jumping on the tram into Sheffield or for Meadowhall. Coffee not great. Would pay more for decent coffee. Food generally ok. I had some concerns about car park security before arrival but had no issues at all.”
““...Great location for Ponds Forge Great communication before and during stay” -July 2024 feedback.”
“Great service, smooth process, and a lovely property. Thank you!”
“Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights while we visited family as we have come from the Lake District and we could not have asked for a better experience! The receptionist was very smiley and welcomed us with nothing but a positive attitude! On the second night we had a little issue with the key card but a new receptionist was very helpful and sorted the issue within no time. We were absolutely delighted with the room, very clean! We will definitely be coming by again.”
“Great value for the money on private rooms. Booked here with a short notice (I believe 4 days) and managed to grab a private room for a few days. Staff was really helpful on the first day, facilities are in good condition and the places is well kept and clean. Options in the kitchen for food were plenty and it was always between decent and clean. No rotten food in the fridge!!! I swear it's the first time I find a fridge without rotten food. Not even in the office where there is always someone's pizza from the previous week. Props on that to the staff and guests. My only complaint with my room was that I could hear other guests walking and cooking all the time. So a bit uncomfortable if you are sleeping extra early and have a light sleep. Location can be a bit inconvenient depending on where you want to go and how much you like a steep hill for an entrance. But Sheffield is all about those hills, so that'd be an issue with the city as a whole.”
“We have travelled to Matlock nine times over the past eleven years, each time staying at local B&B's. Whilst we have enjoyed many wonderful venues, Glendon is by far the very best to date! An absolutely gem of a find! The team were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The house is beautiful and perfectly maintained. Parking is private and perfectly located at the rear of the building with direct access to the main road. The rooms are equally clean and well equipped - as well as nice and quiet, which was a lovely surprise bearing in mind the proximity to the main road. We will definitely be back!”
“A lovely bikers cafe, open to everyone Friendly atmosphere, lovely staff, always welcoming.. family run, comfy sofas. Would recommend”
“Me and my partner stayed here in emergency accommodation the studio flats they have a fully kitted out with everything you need all you need throughout your stay is food there is cooker etc facilities just such great place to stay would definitely reccomend they staff are help with anything if you needed them they was available 24/7 5* recommend”
“A lovely day out . We had spent the weekend in Matlock Bath. A truly lovely place to visit. The tramway village is only approximately 6miles away. It's like stepping back in time . Along with many trams on display, there are some you travel on along a track. An old fashioned sweetshop and pub . There's a cafe serving food . Sadly the country walk got to by the tram was closed due to the bad weather. Tickets are valid for 12 months so hopefully will go back in the summer months”
“We had a wonderful time. The food was amazing - I especially recommend the chicken steak as it was incredibly well marinated. The staff were very friendly and gave us great recommendations. Sepi was lovely and offered excellent customer service.”
