“We always have a great time at swimming, currently attending weekly. The staff are friendly, the pool is suitably sized and warm, and the swimbabes programme is great for encouraging the first steps to swimming. Very happy with the facilities and service.”
“A heated outdoor pool in lovely surroundings. A real gem in Hathersage. Check the website whether you need to book. In summer you definitely will. Changing rooms and an excellent cafe just outside. Highly recommend.”
“Our boys have been going for about a year. Ashleigh does a great job in developing their swimming skills. The place is always spotless, the classes are small and the prices are good. Highly recommended!”
“Very hot upstairs in the viewing gallery, much better viewing and cooler in the cafe, which has a full glass wall and seating”
“We visited the gardens on their charity open day. Have visited twice previously and on each occasion it has been a lovely experience. It is a beautiful place.”
“All 3 of my children had swimming lessons here. My son who is 8 goes every Saturday. He loves going and the staff are amazing.”
“Who doesn't like water fountains. Nice outdoor area in Sheffield city centre bounded by two Wetherspoons (Benjamin Huntsman is easily the better of those) and a Yates (no real ale there). Quiet and a place of reflection - forgive the pun ..”
“We were early so visited The friendly Library in the same building. Which had lots of activities & interest for children young & older. Then walked through to swim time. Great pool lovely welcoming staff.”
“I can't recommend Bakewell swimming pool enough. Excellent customer service, always helpful and willing to answer questions. Daughter has been having swimming lessons here over the past few years and I can't fault the instructors and friendliness towards her during lessons. She has achieved a level of swimming far beyond my expectations when she began and hopefully she'll continue in the future. She's had some truly dedicated instructors over the years. A brilliant team of people.”
“Can't fault the training pool here. My 2 year old grandson loves it. Even a few toys for the kiddies. Big shout out to the young lady on lifeguard duty. She got my grandson really engaged and even encouraged him to try to swim across the pool for a toy, which he did with a little help. He gave her a lovely wave as we left.”
“Brilliant pool, facilities are great and staff friendly.”
“Remains our preferred swimming pool in Sheffield as a family, we love the leisure swimming its a mix of relaxation and fun.”
“What a lovely little Victorian baths. I came for a 7am swim this morning for the first time and loved it. You need to book a slot as they get filled up pretty quickly, but I think you can pay on the day too. The pool was a lovely temperature, and not over crowded with most spaces gone. Individual changing cubicles are along each long side of the pool, keeping in keeping with the history of the building. Did read some reports of the pool area being dirty, but going for the first session of the day was very clean. There is also a small gym on site, and by the reception area are some vending machines. Excited to go back!”
“Amazing place to visit if you like walks or even just chilling, and even a quick paddle if its a warm day, kids had an amazing time and spent most the day in the water. Cafe has amazing food and it work out no more expensive than it you went to a fast food place, but it tastes far better....”
“My son has been having swim lessons for a few weeks now and he is absolutely loving them. The weekly themes help keep the lessons new and engaging for him and the support from the staff is fantastic. They are always so enthusiastic and friendly and keen to give feedback at the end of each lesson so you really feel like you're clear about the progress they're making. Abbie and Albert are particularly fantastic with the younger children in their Swim 1 classes and you can see them making progress and getting more and more confident every week! I would highly recommend swim! to any parent looking at getting their children started on their swimming journey.”
“Great facilities. The gym was refurbished near the end of 2023 so all the equipment is pretty new. There are synthetic pitches, squash courts, fitness studios, A multipurpose sports hall (badminton, basketball, etc) Water fountains available all over. Staff are helpful and friendly. Taken a few fitness classes and the instructor (Alison) has been excellent. The only issue is the pool is now permanently closed. I think the rock climbing wall may have been removed as the room was used for a weights room the last time I looked. Lockers are free, as is the water. Fitness classes are inexpensive. The site is spread across two public buildings, with lockers, showers and changing rooms in both.”
“Very good pool with brilliant access. Steps and wheelchair access. Good changing rooms and lockers.”
“Such a great local pool, fun sessions for kids in the holidays. Love the warm water sessions for younger kids too!”
“Danny was a fantastic instructor. I arrived nervous and unsure, and left feeling confident in the water. He was so reassuring, and taught me all the techniques in a calm, understanding way. I'd highly recommend him for anyone looking to learn.”
“Lovely spot at the top of the hill finding things I didn't know were there. ☺️”
“Went with friends for a walk, it is absolutely stunning and beautiful place to spend a day there.”
“Visited for a car show. Everything was extremely well organized and we had a lovely enjoyable day. Lots of beautiful cars, a great arena and lots of stalls including food stalls.”
“Great place for a long walk in the nature.”
“Beautiful location for a short or long walk depending your mood, so much to explore and see, we were here for a good few hours and saw interesting wildlife, bridges, weirs, remains of old buildings, cafe near the playground with public toilets next door”
“We had our daughter's party with the inflatables in the big pool and it was great. The communication through the booking process and then the organisation on the day was faultless. We had two with different allergies and the catering staff were brilliant, would really recommend for a fun party idea, the team really look after everything and our daughter and her friends loved it!”
“Lovely day out at xmas. The house is beautifully decorated with all 47 trees. Especially loved the enchanted woodland theme with the fairies this year. The light projection onto the house was beautiful too. Only niggle is the two way route past the rockery for the light trail.”
“A lovely day out . We had spent the weekend in Matlock Bath. A truly lovely place to visit. The tramway village is only approximately 6miles away. It's like stepping back in time . Along with many trams on display, there are some you travel on along a track. An old fashioned sweetshop and pub . There's a cafe serving food . Sadly the country walk got to by the tram was closed due to the bad weather. Tickets are valid for 12 months so hopefully will go back in the summer months”
“Again another amazing day trip with the family amazing animals and this time was a theme park rides One of the best day out I've had in a long time”
